Counterfeiters in Gujarat made fake Rs 500 notes totalling Rs 1.6 crore by putting Anupam Kher's picture on them. The counterfeit notes were used to deceive a bullion trader in Ahmedabad. Instead of Mahatma Gandhi, the notes featured the Bollywood actor. Additionally, the notes had ‘Resole Bank of India’ printed on them, rather than ‘Reserve Bank of India’.
