With both playing for India now, Abhishek admitted every time he plays with Gill’s bat, he scores runs. The left-handed batter said this has happened even in the IPL, with his outing in his second India game being the latest example.</p>

<p>“This has been going on since Under-14 cricket. Whenever I have played with his bat, I’ve done well. I want to tell everyone that even today (on Sunday), I played with his bat, which wasn’t an easy task. It’s my last option for a comeback. Special thanks to him for lending me his bat on time,” Abhishek said in a video shared by BCCI.</p>

<p>“It had happened in the IPL as well. Today was no exception as it went well as it usually happens,” Abhishek added.</p>

<h2>Yuvraj lauds Abhishek</h2>

<p>A four-ball duck in the first T20I might be disappointing for Abhishek, but not for his mentor and one of India’s greatest match-winners, Yuvraj Singh. Abhishek said after the first match, he spoke with Yuvraj on the phone, and instead of the India veteran scolding him for playing a careless shot, he lauded his beginning, saying it was a good start to his career.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, Abhishek credited Yuvraj for putting in the hard work and guiding him to the right path, which led to his India call-up.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Very proud. Well done. You deserve it. Many more to come. This is just a start,” Yuvraj said to Abhishek as revealed by him.</p>

<p>“I spoke to him yesterday, and he said, I don’t know why, but he was very happy when I was out on zero. He said that’s a good start. I think he must be very proud of me just like my family.</p>

<p>“I am playing at this level because of him. The hard work he has put on me. For the past two-three years he has really worked hard not only on my cricket but even off the field as well,” the 22-year-old added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh penned a heartfelt note for David Warner as the Australian batter brought curtains on his 15-year-long international career. Yuvraj took to his social media handles&nbsp;to share the poignant note and pay&nbsp;tribute to what was a glittering career, filled with individual and team accolades for the Australian.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Warner played his last match in Australian colours against India in the Super 8 stage at the ongoing T20 World Cup in the USA and Caribbean. He had already said goodbye to the Test and ODI format after playing the series against Pakistan, earlier this year.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>“No one likes a quiet goodbye, but that’s the game of life mate. Well done on an incredible career @davidwarner31!" Yuvraj wrote&nbsp;</p>

<p>Yuvraj played under Warner's captaincy at SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) from 2016 to 2017. The duo lifted the IPL trophy in 2016 after beating Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the final.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As opponents, both squared off against each other numerous times but remained on cordial terms off the field.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After Australia's exit from the tournament, tributes poured in from all around the cricketing world for Warner. Legendary Australian captain, Ricky Ponting was one of the first ones to congratulate Warner on his career, adding that the country was yet to find an impact player like him.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"(I) put my arm around him.&nbsp;I said, 'just take a moment tonight to sit back by yourself and reflect on what's been an unbelievable career across all three formats for Australia'" said Ponting.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We know he retired in the summer from test cricket, but you'll struggle to find a guy that's had as big an impact on all three forms in Australian cricket than David Warner has," he added.</p>

Sreesanth feels in-form Hardik can do what Yuvraj did for India in their victorious run in the 2011 ODI World Cup at home, with his all-round abilities.</p>

<p>Hardik has chipped in with&nbsp;8 wickets and scored 116 crucial runs so far in the showpiece tournament, with skipper Rohit also terming him India's 'key player'.</p>

The left-hander now has received the backing of former players including Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh to be in India's T20 World Cup squad. <p>Zaheer was on song on the day it mattered the most, bowling tight lines, resulting in the early breakthrough of Upul Tharanga. Dilshan and Captain Kumar Sangakkara stitched a partnership but Harbhajan and Yuvraj removed both, respectively.</p>

<p>Despite the Lankans losing wickets regularly, Mahela Jayawardene, alongside Kulasekara and Perera, ensured Sri Lanka posted a mammoth total of 274-6 on the board, with Mahela completing a hundred on the D-Day.</p>

<h3>Tough start but India got through</h3>

<p>India got off to the worst possible start, losing attacking batter Sehwag on the second ball for a duck, with Sachin following him soon after inside the Powerplay. Two Delhi boys, Kohli and Gambhir bailed India out of trouble, stitching an 83-run stand for the third wicket before Dilshan sent Kohli packing.</p>

<p>However, what favoured India that day was the management’s call to send MS Dhoni ahead of Yuvraj Singh - India’s best bet at number four in the World Cup. That move paid dividends as Dhoni and Gautam put India in the driver’s seat. Though Gautam missed out on scoring a hundred, getting bowled on 97 to Perera, Dhoni remained unbeaten on 91 to see India through in the run-chase.&nbsp;</p>

Harbhajan Singh and Piyush Chawla made up the specialist spin attack, with others chipping in with wickets, striking a balance like never before. The Big Day – The Final! India bowled first in the grand finale against perhaps the most sort-after team in the tournament – Sri Lanka. Zaheer was on song on the day it mattered the most, bowling tight lines, resulting in the early breakthrough of Upul Tharanga. Dilshan and Captain Kumar Sangakkara stitched a partnership but Harbhajan and Yuvraj removed both, respectively. Despite the Lankans losing wickets regularly, Mahela Jayawardene, alongside Kulasekara and Perera, ensured Sri Lanka posted a mammoth total of 274-6 on the board, with Mahela completing a hundred on the D-Day. Tough start but India got through India got off to the worst possible start, losing attacking batter Sehwag on the second ball for a duck, with Sachin following him soon after inside the Powerplay. Two Delhi boys, Kohli and Gambhir bailed India out of trouble, stitching an 83-run stand for the third wicket before Dilshan sent Kohli packing. However, what favoured India that day was the management’s call to send MS Dhoni ahead of Yuvraj Singh - India’s best bet at number four in the World Cup. That move paid dividends as Dhoni and Gautam put India in the driver’s seat. <p>Shastri achieved the feat when batting for Mumbai in Ranji Trophy against Baroda. Before him, West Indies' Gary Sobers had smashed six sixes in an over.</p>

Yuvraj had hit now retired England bowler Stuart Broad for six sixes and had become only the second batter after South African Herschelle Gibbs to do it in the international cricket. <p>Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has said veteran off-spinner Ravi Ashwin doesn't deserve a place in the white-ball cricket team. Yuvraj's statement comes as India is preparing for the T20 World Cup scheduled to be played in June later this year in the USA and West Indies. Notably, Ashwin was part of India's ODI World Cup 2023 squad but managed to play only one game, that is, against Australia in Chennai.</p>

<p>"Ashwin is a great bowler but I don't think he deserves a place in ODIs and T20s," said Yuvraj to media outlet Times of India. The retired all-rounder further expanded on his views and reasoned that the spinner doesn't offer anything with bat or fielding to get a place in the white-ball team.</p>

<p>England's red-ball vice-captain Ollie Pope has also conceded that there's going to be 'outside noise' about the pitches on their upcoming Test tour of India.</p>

<p>Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has revealed that he doesn't really talk to India star Virat Kohli as much, as the latter is busy with cricket. The revelation comes after Yuvraj said that he's not really good friends with former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni either.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Talking on TRS Podcast, Yuvraj, when asked if he talks to Kohli often, said: “Not really.”&nbsp;</p>
