West Indies cricketer John Campbell has been banned for four years for violating an anti-doping rule. The decision was taken by the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO), as per Reuters. A three-member independent panel announced the decision on Friday.

The West Indies batter has been charged for evading, refusing or failing to submit to sample collection. The decision comes after JADCO had alleged Cambell refused to provide his blood sample at his home in Kingston in April earlier this year.

The independent panel announced an 18-page decision on Friday while charging the West Indies batter. The panel noted that Campbell breached rule 2.3 of JADCO. The panel observed that it was satisfied that the anti-doping violation by the West Indies batter was an intentional one and that he should be banned for four years.

"The panel is persuaded to a comfortable degree of satisfaction that the athlete committed an anti-doping rule violation, namely breach of JADCO rule 2.3," the decision read.

It was another 360 degree effort which showed his flexibility, skill and hand-eye coordination, all in one go. There were eight fours and four sixes in his knock.

There was a picture-perfect lofted six over extra cover off Alzarri Joseph, which will be difficult to forget as he held his pose for several seconds after execution.

There was slashed six off the same bowler and the ramp shot using the pace and bounce, a pull over deep mid-wicket and a cross-batted punch over mid-on fielder.

Against the parsimonious left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein, there was a slog sweep over square leg to complete his half-century.

At the half-way stage, the score was 96 for no loss despite skipper Rohit Sharma (11) retiring hurt with a back muscle pull.

By the time Suryakumar was dismissed, India had the match under control with Rishabh Pant (33 not out off 26 balls) providing finishing touches.

After Rohit won a good toss and opted to field, his bowling unit maintained disciplined for the better part before Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh's relative inexperience saw West Indies put up a competitive 164 for 5.

Suryakumar Yadav guides India to victory over West Indies to take 2-1 series lead

India just managed to hold off the challenge of an inspired West Indies team with the under-strength visitors coming away with a three-run victory in the first&nbsp;One-Day International of a three-match series at Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad on Friday.

Stand-in captain Shikhar&nbsp;Dhawan's 97 was the foundation of his side's total of 308 for seven which appeared to be more than enough at the halfway stage given that the hosts were just coming off a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Bangladesh in Guyana a week earlier.

However, opener Kyle Mayers set the tone for the Caribbean side's chase with a top-score of 75 and with the rest of the batting order making important contributions the West Indies reached the final over needing 15 runs for victory.

Romario Shepherd, playing only because former captain Jason Holder was ruled out with Covid 19 in the morning, and Akeal Hosein managed to scramble 11 against the bowling of seamer Mohammed Siraj as they finished agonisingly short at 305 for six.

Dhawan's innings off 99 balls with three sixes and ten fours earned him the "Man of the Match" award although the left-handed opener was not too pleased with his team's effort in the field.

"We had a few nerves obviously towards the end of the match and maybe we didn't stick to our plans as well as we should have because if we had done so, especially with a few runs given away on the leg-side, the game would have been over as a contest earlier,"&nbsp;Dhawan&nbsp;said after the match.

Put in on a sweltering morning, he saw opening partner Shubman Gill (64) play most of the shots early on in a stand of 119 off 18 overs. Shreyas Iyer stroked his way to 54 before becoming the second wicket for Gudakesh Motie.

Motie had earlier dismissed&nbsp;Dhawan&nbsp;via an excellent diving catch by Shamarh Brooks at backward-point as India lost momentum when ominously poised at 213 for one in the 34th over.

Motie and fellow left-arm spinner Hosein were the most economical of the West Indies bowlers although pacer Alzarri Joseph bolstered the home side's rearguard in the field with two important wickets.

"It's a bittersweet feeling," was West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran’s summary of the match. "We've been talking about batting 50 overs and we did it this time but came up short.

"Still, we really competed well against one of the best teams in the world and we need to keep on improving against this type of opposition if we want to get our ODI cricket back on track."

Stand-in captain Shikhar Dhawan's 97 was the foundation of his side's total of 308 for seven which appeared to be more than enough at the halfway stage given that the hosts were just coming off a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Bangladesh in Guyana a week earlier. "I thought we were right in it until the last over," said Devine.

"You don't get much more clutch than a bowler coming in in the 50th over and doing what Dottin did. So full credit to them but we've got to move on quickly."

Matthews said coach Courtney Walsh had called her on Thursday and told her she would be opening in place of Williams, who was ruled out of the match by concussion protocols.

West Indies superstar Chris Gayle effectively called time on his international career on Saturday when he admitted: "I'd love to play one more World Cup. But I don't think they will allow me."

The 42-year-old self-styled 'Universe Boss' and his West Indies team lost by eight wickets to Australia at the T20 World Cup, a fourth defeat in five games for the defending champions.

Dwayne Bravo, 38, confirmed he was finished with international cricket, but Gayle was still not ready to join his fellow former captain in quitting.

"It's been a phenomenal career. I didn't announce any retirement but they actually give me one game in Jamaica to go in front of my home crowd, then I can say 'hey guys, thank you so much.' Let's see," said Gayle who made his debut in the format in 2006.

"We have some guys who have done good things for T20 cricket in our team and around the world. We as people are very proud," said Pollard whose team had already been eliminated from the semi-final shake-up.

Both Bravo and Gayle were given a guard of honour by the Australian players.

After registering a narrow one-wicket win over Pakistan in the first Test, West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite said his side never lost hope in what turned out to be a thrilling encounter.

"A remarkable Test. We never lost hope. Pakistan bowled very well, and this pitch requires patience from the batsmen. Whoever had more patience came out on top. We have some time before the next Test and it will be a different pitch. The bowlers did well, they were tired, but they gave it their all," Brathwaite told the host broadcaster after the game.

"We have been working hard as a batting group and Blackwood is hungry for runs at his home ground so good on him. Pakistan will come back hard, but whoever is more patient will come out on top. Chasing 168 for the win on Day 4, Windies lost its first three wickets with just 16 runs on the board as Kraigg Brathwaite (2), Kieran Powell (4), and Nkrumah Bonner (5) departed cheaply. Roston Chase and Jermaine Blackwood then provided resistance as the duo put on 68 runs for the fourth wicket.

Faheem Ashraf then once again triggered the collapse for West Indies and the hosts were reduced to 142/8, still needing 26 runs for the win. However, in the end, Roach held his own and he helped Windies register a one-wicket victory.&nbsp;

Middle-order batsman Shamarh Brooks is also recalled after having, like Holder, last played in the Test series in New Zealand in December. 
 
Left-hander Darren Bravo and fast bowler Shannon Gabriel have been left out, Cricket West Indies said.
