Set an improbable target of 419 after Virat Kohli declared the tourists' second innings at 343 for seven in mid-afternoon, the hosts were demolished in 26.5 overs for their lowest Test innings total ever against India with Bumrah returning the outstanding figures of five for seven off eight overs.

Four of his victims were comprehensively bowled in an irresistible spell in which he displayed a previously unseen ability by him to swing the ball both ways.

"I've been working a lot on this aspect of my game and I am really happy to see how it worked out today," he said.&nbsp;

"I was a bit stiff in the first innings but it all came out well today. I just have to keep on learning my craft."

Ishant Sharma supported Bumrah brilliantly in sharing the new ball, taking three for 31 to finish with eight wickets in the match.&nbsp;

Mohammed Shami chipped in with two wickets which reduced the West Indies to 50 for nine and it took some big hitting from Kemar Roach, who top-scored with 38, to double his side's total.

After Ajinkya Rahane completed his tenth Test hundred and Hanuma Vihari fell seven runs short of his maiden Test century, prompting the declaration, Bumrah and Sharma were utterly devastating.

On Wednesday, BCCI had asked him to return from the ongoing tour, but Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief Vinod Rai allowed him to stay back&nbsp;with a severe reprimand following his apology.&nbsp;

Subramaniam had misbehaved with the Indian Foreign Service Officers when they reached him for a video shoot by the players for 'water conservation'.

The BCCI had asked the Indian High Commissions in Trinidad, Tobago and Guyana to contact Subramaniam for the video, however, when an official tried to contact him, Subramanium refused to entertain the person.

In his apology, Subramaniam cited stress as the reason for his misbehaviour. Team India manager further added that he was also sleep deprived when the incident occurred.

Subramaniam was appointed as Team India's manager in 2017 for two years. However, it's not clear if he will now be allowed to contest for the position of manager -- the appointment is set to happen by the end of this month.

The interim selection panel of CWI headed by Robert Haynes has included Antiguan uncapped off-spinner Rahkeem Cornwall in the squad.

"Rahkeem has been performing consistently over a long period and has proven to be a match-winner, so we believe his elevation to the Test squad is merited at this time," said Haynes.

The squad includes two uncapped players - Cornwall and Shamarh Brooks. The Test side will be lead by pacer Jason Holder.

Cornwall will make his long-awaited Test debut at home when West Indies kick off their campaign in the ICC World Test Championship against India later this month.

Cornwall has been rewarded for his impressive record for Leeward Islands Hurricanes in the West Indies Championship and the West Indies "A" team, since making his first-class debut less than five years ago.

However, captain Karunaratne said he was pleased with the confidence levels in the Lankan dressing room as they look to finish the tournament on a high.

KL Rahul is "disappointed" at not being able to convert his starts but not at all "worried" as he believes that he is doing a lot of things right.

Rahul had scores of 26, 11 not out, 57, 30 and 48 in five completed games and barring the one against Australia where he came in at the fag end of the innings, he has got out after getting set.

"It's a bit disappointing," the talented Karnataka batsman said, accepting that he should have gone on to score a few more runs.&nbsp;I am doing the hard work in getting through the first 10 or 15 overs, or as an opening batsmen, scoring the first 25, 30 runs, which is the hardest. (But then getting out) when the time comes to accelerate and maybe take the game deeper, so a bit disappointed that I have not been able to do that," Rahul lamented.

He will certainly assess and do the course correction but he does not want to brood over what has already done.

"But again I can sit, I will sit and assess, but it won't worry me that much because there are a lot of things I'm doing right, and I know that the mistakes I've made I can learn from them and get better," Rahul said at the post-match press conference after India beat the West Indies by 125 runs on Thursday.

In fact, he is more comfortable opening the batting as that has been his natural slot in all forms of cricket.

In fact, the BCCI in consultation with the Cricket West Indies has chalked the itinerary in a manner that Test matches, which were earlier scheduled at the start of the series, will now be held after the T20s and the ODIs.&nbsp;

"With first Test in Antigua starting August 22, there would be enough time for the key members in the World Cup squad to get much-needed rest," he said.&nbsp;

Srikkanth has been impressed by India's form and claims their powerful displays are torturing opponents in the same way the great West Indies' team of the 1970s used to have teams beaten mentally before the match even started.

"It is a little like England, at the moment everything seems to be going right (for India) and the fans should be very happy," Srikkanth said.

"This is starting to feel a little like the West Indian teams of the 1970s, where the opposition would start the game with a psychological disadvantage.

"Teams are worried about facing India and how they will cope with them, which immediately puts them on the back foot."

"That is vital in an ICC Men's Cricket World Cup. You cannot put too much pressure on yourself because of who the opposition is."

Sharma's 136-run opening stand with KL Rahul, who scored a measured 57 after being slotted in as opener in place of the injured Shikhar Dhawan, stood out in the big win.

Srikkanth said the half-century from Rahul, who helped see off a threatening opening spell from paceman Mohammad Amir, should not be underestimated.

"Everyone knows how good a batsman Rohit Sharma is but for me the more important innings against Pakistan was from KL Rahul," Srikkanth said.

"Going into the game, the biggest question mark about this India team was how they would cope without Shikhar Dhawan (who remains with the squad under medical observation).

"The fact the top three all got runs, that Sharma and Rahul put on more than a hundred for the first wicket and that Virat Kohli got more runs, is huge for India going forward in the tournament."

Kohli made 77 off 65 deliveries, his innings laced with seven boundaries before being caught behind off Amir.
