<p>Tom Hanks is "heartbroken" that his World War II thriller must skip the big screen due to the pandemic -- but hopes it can still teach audiences at home a thing or two about acting decently in a global crisis.<br />

"Greyhound," out on Apple TV+ Friday, was written by and stars Hanks as a rookie captain escorting a convoy of Allied ships as they cross the freezing North Atlantic, hounded by Nazi U-boats.<br />

The movie follows a destroyer's terrified young crew crossing the treacherous ocean beyond the range of air cover, bound together in life-and-death responsibility for protecting the fleet and each other.<br />
<br />
"Those guys on the ship... all they can do is what's expected of them, and hope for some combination of providence and serendipity to see them through," said Hanks.<br />
<br />
"COVID-19, no one knows how long it's going to go on, no one knows who's going to die because of it... you don't have to go very far to see the correlations and the similarities to the war years," he told a virtual news conference.<br />

The film itself is stuffed with military jargon, as Hanks's captain bawls out orders.<br />

But with many US theaters closed due to coronavirus, Hanks admitted he was saddened that audiences will miss out on watching his passion project as a communal experience.<br />

"She had a much higher fever and she had some other symptoms. She lost her sense of taste and smell. She got absolutely no joy from food for a better part of three weeks ... She was so nauseous she had to crawl on the floor from the bed to the facilities."<br />

Wilson spoke about the terrible symptoms including fever and chills she experienced as a result. "I felt extremely achy, uncomfortable, didn't want to be touched, and then the fever started."</p>

<p>Tom then pointed out that while the future is uncertain but he sure does know that “you will not let us down” motivating them to do bigger and better things in life.&nbsp;</p>

Hanks and Wilson were the first celebrities to have tested positive for the virus while they were in Australia in early March. The couple spent over a week at a hospital in Queensland and returned to LA only after they had fully recovered several weeks later.</p>

<p>Now, while speaking at the morning show of CBS' 'The Talk' with Gayle King, Wilson recalled the symptoms she had while she was infected and the side effects of the drug chloroquine.<br />

"I was very tired. I felt extremely achy," Wilson detailed her symptoms to King and added "Uncomfortable, didn't want to be touched and then the fever started. Chills like I've never had before. Looking back, I realize I was also losing my sense of taste and smell which I didn't realize at the time."<br />

Wilson also revealed that the fever reached its highest temperature about nine days following her positive test results. "I think it got close to 102," she said.</p>

<p>The actress revealed she was given chloroquine, a drug that has been used to prevent and treat malaria and is now being studied as a possible COVID-19 treatment.<br />

Adding a word of caution about the drug, Wilson stated that she wasn't sure if her fever subsided due to it. "I can only tell you that I don't know if the drug worked or if it was just time for my fever to break, but my fever did break," she explained. "But the chloroquine had extreme side effects."<br />

Wilson recalled that after the drug was administered to her, she felt "completely nauseous" and suffered from vertigo."I could not walk," she said. "My muscles felt very weak."<br />
