The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) said on Tuesday it would present the prolific actor and producer with its Cecil B. DeMille award at the Golden Globes ceremony in Beverly Hills on January 5, 2020.<br />

The boyish-looking Hanks, now 63, made his movie breakthrough in 'Big' in 1988, playing a teenager who wakes up to find himself in the body of an adult.<br />

He went on to win back-to-back Oscars and Golden Globes in 1994 and 1995 for his roles in AIDS drama 'Philadelphia' and comedy 'Forrest Gump'.&nbsp;<br />

"For more than three decades, he’s captivated audiences with rich and playful characters that we’ve grown to love and admire," HFPA president Lorenzo Soria said in a statement.<br />

According to Variety, the story of the drama is inspired by a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers (Hanks) and Tom Junod (Matthew Rhys), a cynical journalist assigned to write a profile of the long-running television host.<br />

The Marielle Heller directorial film is based on journalist Tom Junod`s experience profiling Rogers, which he describes as having changed his perspective on life.&nbsp;<br />

Junod is initially sceptical about the assignment, believing that nobody could really be as wonderful as Rogers seems to be -- but, of course, the impossible turns out to be true.The two minutes 26 seconds video, opens up with Junod landing up on the sets of the show hosted by Tom.&nbsp;<br />

"This piece will be for an issue about heroes," Junod`s character tells Tom in the new clip. "Do you consider yourself a hero?"He responds, "We are trying to give the world positive ways of dealing with their feelings."</p>

<p>The duo travel 400 miles through dangerous terrain, slowly developing a bond that will be tested when the man must give the girl up to relatives that not only don't want her but have abusive plans for her.</p>

<p>In the 1990 dark fantasy feature, directed by Tim Burton, Depp played an artificial man named Edward who has scissor blades instead of hands.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film was instrumental in the success of Depp and his co-star Winona Ryder and it is considered a cult classic by many film aficionados.</p>

<p>The interview, conducted by host Charlie Rose in 1999, was unearthed by The Hollywood Reporter. During his discussion with Rose, the actor said he was confident that he was going to be fired from the film as Burton would rehearse with the whole cast, except for him.</p>

<p>''He didn't know exactly what I was going to do when I walked on the set, the same thing with Ed Wood. In fact, I spent the first two weeks of Ed Wood and Scissorhands and Sleepy Hallow thinking I was going to be fired, that I was going to be replaced. But luckily Tim was happy with the stuff, and I didn't lose my job,'' Depp said.</p>

<p>Rose refused to believe the actor but Depp recounted an incident from 'Edward Scissorhands' sets that convinced him that Hanks would soon replace him.</p>

<p>''I can remember when we were doing 'Scissorhands' we were living in this sort of resort, some kind of country club thing, and there was a knock on the door ... One afternoon while everyone was off rehearsing. There were two young girls at the door and I thought, 'Oh, they found me and maybe they want me to sign something, I don't know.'&nbsp;</p>

<p>"So, I opened the door and said, 'How do you do?' and they said, 'Hi. Is Tom Hanks here? Does he live here?' I said, 'What? No. Not yet.' And I was convinced that Hanks would be replacing me. I was convinced. It was one of the most frightening moments in my career."</p>

<p>Tom Hanks has never been asked to star in a James Bond movie.</p>

<p>The 61-year-old multi-Academy Award winner has been working in Hollywood for four decades and has worked with a number of legendary actors and filmmakers, but there is one franchise for which Hanks hasn&#39;t even been approached for a role.</p>

<p>Speaking to Time Out London magazine, Hanks has admitted he would love to join the 007 family and would be up for playing a villain, in a departure from his usual good guy roles.</p>
