<p>Former Australia captain Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner have been retained by their respective Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises after the duo missed the previous edition following the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa.</p>

<p>The pair are serving year-long bans for their part in the Cape Town incident in March and were barred from the 2018 IPL tournament.</p>

<p>The 12th edition of the lucrative Twenty20 league will be played from March 29 to May 19, having been brought forward because of the 50-over World Cup in England, which begins on May 30.</p>

<p>The batsmen's bans will end on the same day the tournament starts and they could end up playing in the IPL before their compatriots after Cricket Australia (CA) imposed a series of conditions for the participation of contracted players.</p>

<p>Australian cricketers need to receive permission from their home board and must be available to play at the World Cup and on the Ashes tour of England that follows in August and September.</p>

<p>CA said players involved in the Sheffield Shield final will only be released once that concluded on April 1, while the 15 players selected to defend the World Cup must attend a mandatory training camp in early May and play warm-up matches.</p>

<p>Smith has also been banned from taking on a leadership position for an additional 12 months and Warner, who led the Sunrisers Hyderabad to a maiden IPL title in 2016, will not be allowed to serve in an Australian leadership position again.</p>

<p>The Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers paid $1.67 million each at last year's IPL auction for the services of Smith and Warner.</p>

ABD was even more destructive and poor Suresh Raina, captain of Gujarat Lions was absolutely clueless on how to stop this juggernaut and rein ABD in. ABD was punishing deliveries irrespective of their merit. He scored a swashbuckling century and Bangalore crushed Gujarat Lions with immaculate ease.</p>

<p>I have been a die-hard fan of this duo (ABD-Kohli) in T20 particularly after that match and never missed a single game of their team Bangalore ever since.</p>

<p>So just when I was trying to cope with the exit of Bangalore from IPL 2018, the second shocker came. ABD announced his retirement from the game. My first reaction was "why, he has plenty, plenty of cricket left him". Just a few days back we saw him decimating bowlers and taking that superman type of catch at the boundary.</p>

<p>Trust me that for me it is not a routine farewell piece for a cricketer. ABD was special and he has been one among my all-time favourite overseas cricketers along with Shane Warne, Viv Richards and Wasim Akram.</p>

<p>The reason is simple and straight. Like other three, ABD has been the only one of his league. ABD is the one who set a unique style of playing and inspired a whole generation to follow him.</p>

<p>His 360-degree style of batting changed the game in its own way. If ABD is on fire, then quality and class of bowling is rather a meaningless term. As a bowler, you were at the mercy of ABD as no matter what you bowl, if ABD had to dispatch it, he would.</p>

<p>On his day, ABD would score with jaw-dropping pace. In January 2015 during an ODI against West Indies, ABD smashed 144 runs in less than an hour. He only faced 44 deliveries and set a world record of fastest ODI hundred in just 31 balls. He led his side with passion in 2015 World Cup and led the proceedings with his bat. South Africa had a heartbreak though as they lost out to New Zealand in the semi-final.</p>

<p>ABD has been one of the best fielders of all-times. The way he ran Simon Katich out in 2006 with his acrobatic stop and throw has become epic to narrate for the generations to come (like Jonty Rhodes’s cruise in the air to dismiss Inzamam in 1992 World Cup).</p>

<p>He is leaving the game while he is still on peak and till now he was spearheading the South African middle order. In the recent Test series against India, it was ABD who played the decisive knock for his side in the first two Test matches and denied India an upper hand.</p>

<p>One last thing. One of the greatest ODI and T-20 batsmen of all times is leaving the game without even a single ICC title for his side. It is sad, very sad.</p>

<p>I remember that when South Africa crashed out of 2015 World Cup, on an Indian Facebook Cricket fans page, a tribute was posted to ABD for missing out the ICC cup yet again and fans hoped that ABD will do this in 2019 for sure. But ABD had some other ideas. He won’t be around in 2019 World Cup.</p>

<p>Bhuvneshwar Kumar has become a vital cog in the wheel for whichever team he plays, and the India and Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer says experience and superior fitness have made him an improved bowler.</p>

<p>Bhuvneshwar, who made his ODI and T20 debut in 2012, has so far grabbed 90 wickets in 86 ODIs and 28 wickets in 26 T20s and has become the go-to man for skipper Virat Kohli.</p>

<p>"The big change is experience, learning the things. At any stage, initially, you don't know much about those places or that environment, so (when) you keep playing you get to know, what the things are like there. Nothing is easy. So, yes experience - which I have gained over the last two-three years - really improved me as a bowler," the 28-year-old Meerut born player told PTI.</p>

<p>"And the other thing is fitness, the foremost thing which can keep you going for so many years," he said.</p>

<p>Asked whether he got any tips or advice from anybody, he said, "No, nothing, no special thing. I have been working in general, the way you do - match practise, fitness drills and individual skill - there is nothing special."</p>

<p>The swing bowler said there was "commitment to improve my fitness and improve as a bowler".</p>

<p>Bhuvneshwar, who is at ease bowling at the start and even in the death overs in white ball cricket, says that bowling at any point in T20 format is difficult.</p>

<p>"It is difficult to bowl any over, doesn't (matter) whether it's the first six overs or the last four overs. Wherever you bowl in this (T20) format, it is very difficult.</p>

<p>"If you don't do a good planning or if you don't have a good strategy it (will) always be difficult, because there is power-play with only two fielders outside the circle, so good chances of you getting hit for runs. It is all about pure strategy, planning and execution," he said.</p>

<p>He also admitted that things have gone the SRH way in the current edition of the IPL, where they have won three of the first four games.</p>

I have been working in general, the way you do - match practise, fitness drills and individual skill - there is nothing special." "If you don't do a good planning or if you don't have a good strategy it (will) always be difficult, because there is power-play with only two fielders outside the circle, so good chances of you getting hit for runs. <p>Dinesh Karthik who emerged as a hero and inspired a mesmerising victory in the finals of Nidahas Trophy T20 tri-series was playing the 19th T20 match of his career at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Sunday.</p>

<p>India defeated Bangladesh in the finals of Nidahas Trophy T20 tri-series at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Sunday.</p>

<p>All credit goes to wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik who blasted 29 off just 8 balls and finished the nail-biting match by hitting&nbsp;six runs on the last ball.</p>

India defeated Bangladesh in the finals of Nidahas Trophy T20 tri-series at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Sunday. All credit goes to wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik who blasted 29 off just 8 balls and finished the nail-biting match by hitting six runs on the last ball. <p>The infamous Amitabh Bachchan has caused a stir on social media following his tweet on Sunday after India&#39;s victory against South Africa.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Back in 2016, Bachchan had slammed Harsha Bhogle for being biased towards other players and speaking very little of the Indian cricket team. Harsha reportedly lost his job after former captain Dhoni endorsed the tweet, although, he recently got back to doing commentary again during&nbsp;India&rsquo;s tour of the West Indies in 2017.</p>

<p>Back then the Indian superstar had tweeted, &ldquo;With all due respects, it would be really worthy of an Indian commentator to speak more about our players than others all the time.&rdquo; The then captain MS Dhoni agreed with Bachchan and quoted the tweet saying, &ldquo;Nothing to add.&rdquo;</p>

<p>However, his tweet on Sunday did not go&nbsp;down&nbsp;well as social media replied with fury.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The same old problems haunted the South African side as it suffered from inconsistency, poor fielding, bad shot selection and loose bowling which put them on the back foot in the ODI series.</p>

<p>For South Africa, Reeza Hendricks contributed 70 crucial runs and found a determined ally in Behardien but both of them could not stand the attacking bowling&nbsp;of Indian bowlers.</p>
