The Swiss keeper did well to deny Ramos his second goal of the half with a fingertip save from a late counter-attack as the Portuguese went in with a 2-0 halftime lead.

But Sommer could do nothing when Diogo Dalot sent in a cross six minutes after the restart, with Ramos in the right place again at the near post to slip the ball between his legs to give Portugal a three-goal cushion.

The Portuguese piled on the misery when they carved open the Swiss defence with another flowing counter-attack in which Ramos found Raphael Guerreiro in acres of space and the full back fired the ball past Sommer to make it 4-0 in the 55th.

Switzerland softened the blow just before the hour mark when defender Manuel Akanji sneaked in unmarked at the far post from a corner to slip a shot home after Portugal failed to clear.

But a vibrant Portugal attack roared back when Ramos was set through on goal by Felix and just when it looked like he had lost the ball with a heavy touch, the forward chipped it over the onrushing Sommer to complete a well-deserved hat-trick.

Substitute Rafael Leao then put the icing on the cake in second-half added time with a curling effort into the far corner as the stranded Sommer's shoulders sank while he watched the ball sail past him into the back of the net.

Switzerland's lower house of parliament on Monday voted to dramatically broaden the nation's previously limited definition of rape to include sexual acts without explicit permission.

The current definition of rape in Switzerland as per AFP is limited to "forced vaginal penetration, met with a certain level of resistance by the woman".

It is widely agreed that the nation's definition needs to undergo a much-needed update that does not focus on particular sex and includes all non-consensual penetration, irrespective of whether the victim fought back.

While there might be a consensus that the definition needs to be broadened, there remains a heated debate on how this could be done.

While they may seem similar there's a subtle difference between the two. As per the former approach, a sexual act can be considered rape if a person "explicitly" objects. Meanwhile the latter categorises any sexual act that was performed without explicit consent as rape.

Earlier this year Switzerland's upper house of parliament, the Council of States voted for the "no means no" approach.&nbsp;

However, the Monday vote by the lower house backs "only yes means yes". The option has already been taken up by a number of European nations including Spain, Sweden, Denmark and Belgium.

Emotions ran high during the debate on Monday, with 99 lawmakers voting for the significantly radical approach. 88 were in opposition and there three abstained from voting.

Hailing the vote as "a huge success" Amnesty International said it comes "after years of activist activity for the rights of women, of sexual abuse victims."

Tamara Funiciello, a Socialist member of parliament according to the ATS news agency while backing the motion said "It is obvious that you don't take money out of your neighbour's wallet without asking. It is obvious that you don't enter someone's home without ringing the bell".

"Why should my wallet and my home be better protected than my body?" she questioned the floor.

However, right-leaning members of the Swiss parliament oppose the approach. In their opinion, it creates confusion and will be difficult to put into practice.

The two houses will now have to debate, and reach common ground before an amendment to the law can move forward. Following this under the nation's direct democratic system it will likely go to a popular vote.

When asked if the shirt had any political messaging, Xhaka said:

However, the name Jashari has a greater significance for the likes of Xhaka who is of ethnic Albanian heritage linked to Kosovo.&nbsp;

Adem Jashari was the late founder of the Kosovo Liberation Army and fought for independence from former Yugoslavia.&nbsp;

Xhaka's father was also involved in pro-Kosovo liberation protests and was imprisoned for six years for taking part in the demonstrations by the then Yugoslavian government.&nbsp;

This is not the first time that Swiss players have come under the scanner for their political messaging. During the last World Cup in Russia, Swiss talisman Xherdan Shaqiri alongside Xhaka celebrated goals against Serbia by making a two-headed eagle sign. The eagle is a reference to the flag of Albania.&nbsp;

After the controversial act, both were fined $10,000 by FIFA with Shaqiri issuing an apology.&nbsp;

"It's all about the excitement. ... People could give different interpretations to my jubilation. If this gesture could hurt the sensitivity of the people who watched the game...I'm sorry," said the former Liverpool player.&nbsp;

The train consists of 25 detachable multiple-unit trains that are around 1910 metres in length altogether. Seven drivers and a total of 21 technicians will make sure that all 25 trains are on the same track and are accelerating and braking simultaneously.

The United States (US) came in second, ahead of Sweden, the United Kingdom (UK), and the Netherlands.

India secured the 40th position in the Global Innovation Index. This is the first time the country entered the top 40. Last year, India was at the 46th position.

The total cost of the destroyed doses amounts to around $285 million. Reportedly, of the 10.3 million doses, 2.5 million are being kept at a Swiss army logistics base while the remaining are at an external storage depot in Belgium. It is pertinent to note that for a country having a population of only 8.7 million, Switzerland procured a total of 34 million doses of the vaccine. Experts pointed at the Swiss government's early procurement strategy when the vaccines were being developed as the root cause for such lopsided distribution. However, this is not the first time that Switzerland is destroying Covid vaccines on a scale. Reportedly, in May, earlier this year, the European country destroyed more than 620,000 expired doses as demand for doses saw a steep decline. Previously in February, the Swiss government claimed that it will donate up to 15 million surplus doses to poorer countries. However, given that more than 10 million doses are being destroyed, it doesn't seem like any poor country received the vaccine. According to WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus' recent remarks at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), only 19 per cent of the population of low-income countries are vaccinated, compared with 75 per cent in high-income countries. A new report published on Saturday by the ACT Accelerator Council highlights falling testing rates globally, and virtually non-existent access to new antivirals in most low and middle-income countries. It is going to be nearly three years since COVID-19 was first detected in humans, which later metamorphosed into a global pandemic.
