He then decided to carry out a chest CT scan of the man and found a shadow in the "posterior basal region of the right lower lobe," which indicated the lodging of a foreign item. He then suggested bronchoscopy to the patient.

The doctor performed a preoperative bronchoscopy to check for any “contraindications” after which the surgery was carried out the next day, during which Ling found that there was something that had wings in the bronchial tubes and was wrapped with phlegm, which was revealed it to be the cockroach.

"During the operation the next day, I clearly saw something with wings in the bronchus. The foreign body was wrapped in a lot of phlegm. After sucking out the surrounding phlegm, the foreign body was exposed. It was a cockroach. At the same time, the secretions around the cockroach were repeatedly washed until they were completely cleaned out. After the operation, the patient felt very relaxed and felt very good. Speaking to tech news site The Verge, Tung said that Waymo vehicles which finish for the day “start migrating back” to the parking space between 7 pm and 9 pm local time from Sunday to Thursday and at around 11 pm till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

The parking begins to fill up “usually…at 4 a.m. or so,” as per Tung. Speaking to The Verge, a Waymo spokesperson said that the company is “aware that in some scenarios our vehicles may briefly honk while navigating our parking lots.”

The spokesperson said that the company has figured out why have the cars been honking unnecessarily and is working to fix it.

The study found that dye clearance was lowered by roughly 30% in sleeping mice and 50% in animals under anaesthesia when compared to the mice who were awake.

“The field has been so focused on the clearance idea as one of the key reasons why we sleep, and we were of course very surprised to observe the opposite in our results. We found that the rate of clearance of dye from the brain was significantly reduced in animals that were asleep, or under anaesthetic,” said Franks.

The researchers expect that the findings will apply to humans because sleep is a basic requirement shared by all mammals. Prof Bill Wisden, interim head of the UK Dementia Research Institute at Imperial College London and co-lead author, stated, "There are many theories as to why we sleep, and although we have shown that clearing toxins may not be a key reason, it cannot be disputed that sleep is important."

The findings are relevant to dementia research since there is growing evidence of a relationship between poor sleep and Alzheimer's risk. It's unclear if sleep deprivation is an early sign of Alzheimer's or if it causes the disease. In terms of performance, well-rested individuals are more focused, more aware, and more productive in their daily lives. Non-invasive electrodes attached to their scalps, using EEG, allowed researchers to monitor the animals' brain activity over four days during winter, summer, and autumn seasons.&nbsp;

Surprisingly, the analysis of the EEG data revealed that the reindeer spent a consistent amount of time asleep regardless of the season. Moreover, the proportion of time spent in different sleep phases, such as rapid eye movement (REM) sleep or non-REM sleep, remained steady across seasons.
