The melody was derived from Baul singer Gagan Harkara's 'Ami Kothay Pabo Tare.'&nbsp;The modern instrumental rendition was arranged by Bangladeshi musician Samar Das.</p>

<p>The song was written in 1905 during the first partition of Bengal, when the ruling British Empire had an undivided province of Bengal Presidency split into two parts- along communal lines. This action by the British was claimed to have been politically motivated and hence many songs were written to rekindle the unified spirit of Bengal.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The lyrics first appeared in the September issues of Bongodorshon and Baul simultaneously, in 1905. Indira Devi, Tagore's niece, jotted down the musical notation hearing it from Tagore himself.</p>

<p>The first ten lines of the original poem constitute the most commonly sung version of Bangladesh's national anthem, adopted in 1971 during the Bangladesh Liberation War.</p>

<p><strong>‘Jana Gana Mana’</strong></p>

<p>It was originally composed as 'Bharoto Bhagyo Bidhata' in Bengali on 11 December 1911. The first stanza of the song Bharoto Bhagyo Bidhata was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India as the National Anthem on 24 January 1950.</p>

<p>The poem was composed in a literary register of the Bengali language called Sadhu Bhasha, which is heavily Sanskritised.</p>

<p>If put forward succinctly, the anthem conveys the spirit of pluralism or the concept of 'unity in diversity', which lies at the core of India's cultural heritage.</p>

<p>Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain reassured the public that the Muhammad Yunus-led administration would not engage in any actions that would fuel unnecessary "controversy." He said regarding Azmi's comment on Bangladesh's national anthem.</p>

There have been films that have showcased snippets of Tagore's life as well. But director Sayantan Ghosal's new film <em>Rabindra Kabya Rahasya </em>is different in so many ways. It does have Rabindranath Tagore playing a key character in the story but only to help solve a mystery set in the present day. The film recently premiered under the Panorama Section at the 54th International Film Festival Of India (IFFI) and received great response.&nbsp;<br />

Ghoshal spoke to WION and admitted that he and the crew were pleasantly surprised at the interest the film had garnered at IFFI.&nbsp;<br />

"The first screening at IFFI was a 10 am show. The film's crew was of course there and we were skeptical about how many people would turn up for the early morning show but it was 80 per cent full. By the time the film began it was full," said Ghosal while speaking to WION and added, "We got a very positive response on the first screening itself. People asked a lot of questions because Rabindranath Tagore played a key role in the film. Many people were keen to know which parts of the film were fictionalised and which were based on facts. So I am happy that the film was able to create a sense of intrigue. It did get a great response at the festival."&nbsp;<br />

It does have Rabindranath Tagore playing a key character in the story but only to help solve a mystery set in the present day. The film recently premiered under the Panorama Section at the 54th International Film Festival Of India (IFFI) and received great response. Ghoshal spoke to WION and admitted that he and the crew were pleasantly surprised at the interest the film had garnered at IFFI. "The first screening at IFFI was a 10 am show. The film's crew was of course there and we were skeptical about how many people would turn up for the early morning show but it was 80 per cent full. By the time the film began it was full," said Ghosal while speaking to WION and added, "We got a very positive response on the first screening itself. People asked a lot of questions because Rabindranath Tagore played a key role in the film. Many people were keen to know which parts of the film were fictionalised and which were based on facts. So I am happy that the film was able to create a sense of intrigue. It did get a great response at the festival." A century ago, the poet Ekalavya Sen fell victim to deception by his peers, who shamelessly plagiarised his poetic works. Seeking retribution, Ekalavya orchestrated their demise. As they delve into a web of murders echoing Rabindranath Tagore’s life, they unearth hidden artifacts, a nefarious plot to undermine India’s cultural heritage, and a truth that could reshape history. <p>Santiniketan was established in 1901 by the famous poet Tagore. It has functioned as a residential school and centre for art which has its roots embedded in ancient Indian traditions and carries a vision of the unity of humans across religious and cultural boundaries.<br />

<h2><strong>Pre-historic site of Tell al-Sultan, other sites also included in list</strong></h2>

<p>The pre-historic site of Tell al-Sultan, which is located near the Palestinian city of Jericho in the occupied West Bank, was also included in the World Heritage List by the United Nations' cultural organisation on Sunday (September 17).</p>

<p>Tell al-Sultan, which is estimated to be older than the pyramids of Egypt, is an oval-shaped tell, or mound in Jordan Valley which is known to have prehistoric deposits of human activity.</p>

<p>The decision to include Tell al-Sultan was taken by UNESCO in its 45th World Heritage Committee meeting held in Riyadh.</p>

<p>"The property proposed for nomination is the prehistoric archaeological site of Tell al-Sultan, located outside the antique site of Jericho," said UNESCO's assistant director general, Ernesto Ottone, at the session.</p>

<p>The site was inscribed after a three-year candidacy "during which no state party raised any objections", stated a diplomat, while speaking to AFP.</p>

<p>"There are no Jewish or Christian remains found at the (Tell al-Sultan) site. It's a place of pre-historic remains," the diplomat added.</p>

<p>Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas stated that the decision to inscribe Tell al-Sultan was "a matter of great importance and evidence of the authenticity and history of the Palestinian people".</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the forests of Mount Pelée and the Pitons on the French island of Martinique and the Forest Massif of Odzala-Kokoua in Congo were also included in the World Heritage List.</p>

'Where the mind is without fear': Biden invokes Tagore in state dinner for Modi

<p>India's Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy said that an international advisory body has recommended Santiniketan, the place where Rabindranath Tagore built Visva Bharati over a century ago, for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This new development comes as India has been looking forward to getting a UNESCO tag for Santiniketan in honour of the Nobel Laureate poet. The site is located in West Bengal's Birbhum district.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a tweet on Tuesday, Reddy said, "Great news for India on the Jayanti of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. Santiniketan in West Bengal has been recommended for inscription to the World Heritage List by ICOMOS, the advisory body to UNESCO World Heritage Centre."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The minister further mentioned, "This furthers the vision of PM Narendra Modi to showcase our rich cultural heritage to the world. This will formally be announced in the World Heritage Committee meeting to be held at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in September 2023," the minister said in his tweet.&nbsp;</p>

<p>So far, India&nbsp;has a total of 40 sites which enjoy the UNESCO World Heritage tag, including 32 cultural sites such as Agra Fort, Taj Mahal, Harappan-era site in Dholavira, Elephanta Caves, Red Fort complex in Delhi, and Mahabodhi Temple complex in Bodh Gaya in Bihar.&nbsp;</p>

This new development comes as India has been looking forward to getting a UNESCO tag for Santiniketan in honour of the Nobel Laureate poet. The site is located in West Bengal's Birbhum district. In a tweet on Tuesday, Reddy said, "Great news for India on the Jayanti of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. Santiniketan in West Bengal has been recommended for inscription to the World Heritage List by ICOMOS, the advisory body to UNESCO World Heritage Centre." The minister further mentioned, "This furthers the vision of PM Narendra Modi to showcase our rich cultural heritage to the world. This will formally be announced in the World Heritage Committee meeting to be held at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in September 2023," the minister said in his tweet. <p>Sahani, who specialises in Electromagnetic Instrumentation, has been told to choose from the two sets and present them for final consideration by the government.</p>

<p>Prithwish Dasgupta had filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Calcutta high court asking why currency notes in the country cannot have photographs of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose or any other important personality.</p>

<p>"Though Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru have garnered much of the credit for the successful culmination of the Indian freedom struggle, the contribution of Netaji is no less," Dasgupta said in his PIL.</p>

The show starring Yumna Zaidi and Feroze Khan has taken the internet by storm and people are loving the clips that feature the lead protagonist singing popular songs written by Rabindranath Tagore. Director Mehreen Jabbar took to her Instagram and shared two clips from the show featuring Yumna Zaidi crooning popular Tagore songs. While the director shared the clip early this year, it caught people's attention only now.&nbsp;<br />

In both the&nbsp;videos, Yumna's character Aiman can be seen singing 'Amaro Porano Jaha Chay' to her family and friends. The song&nbsp;were recorded by 'Chhapaak' singer Sharvari Deshpande.<br />

In April, Khan was trolled as he mixed up island nation in East Asia, Japan with France while he was addressing a gathering.&nbsp; He was giving an example of how the country set up joint industries in the border region to strengthen economic ties with Germany.</p>
