Later, it was discovered that the report omitted eight volumes of requisitioned documents and bank statements from the State Bank of Pakistan.

The committee withheld all the original 28 bank statements as well as year-by-year data of foreign money moved to the PTI's accounts between 2009 and 2013.&nbsp;

Earlier, the Pakistan Election Commission (ECP) had found that Prime Minister Imran Khan's party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), had supplied incorrect information about funds received from abroad and, in fact, had disguised its genuine assets worth PKR 310 million.

According to the Singapore Post, the ECP review committee's conclusion came as a shock to the party and its leader at a time when the prime minister is isolated both nationally and internationally.

According to the ECP data, the PTI received PKR 1.64 billion in funding on January 5, 2022.In 2019, the ECP established a control committee to audit the PTI's foreign funding.&nbsp;

The prime minister was not happy with the performance of the party in the elections and blamed poor selection of candidates for the debacle, said Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry.&nbsp;

Speaking on the appointment of Shafqat Mahmood as the PTI Punjab president, a provincial leader said that the party had lost the previous local elections under the leadership of the education minister. “We are here to reorganise the party to meet the future electoral challenges," Mr Mahmood said.

After attending a party meet, which was chaired by the PM, Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry shared the important takeaways from the results of the elections with the media, reported the Dawn newspaper. &nbsp;

The minister said, "Chief organisers and all office-bearers have been removed from their positions.” &nbsp;&nbsp;

All future party ranks would be selected after careful consideration by a senior PTI panel, he added. &nbsp;

She was greeted by&nbsp;thousands as she stepped out of her residence. This was followed by a tumultous welcome at the protest site. Her supporters welcomed her with a shower of rose petals.

Being portrayed as&nbsp;the heir to her father's political legacy, she has established herself as a leading opposition voice in the physical absence of Nawaz Sharif. She has been promising that the Imran Khan government would go home before January next year and she reiterated this promise during the protest. "It's the beginning of the end of the Imran Khan government."

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday lashed out at three-time former premier Nawaz Sharif for accusing the army chief of rigging elections and installing a "puppet government" in Islamabad.

Sharif, the 70-year-old leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) who was ousted from power in 2017 by the apex court on graft charges, on Friday for the first time directly named Army chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and ISI head Lt Gen Faiz Hameed for interfering in the elections of 2018 to ensure victory of Imran Khan.

Hitting back at Sharif, Khan said on Saturday that the PML-N supremo came to politics by "polishing General Zia's shoes" — a reference to Sharif joining politics in 1980s during the martial law of then military dictator General Zia-ul Haq.

Khan said Sharif opted to use negative language against the army leadership at a time when soldiers were sacrificing their lives for the nation.

"Why are they sacrificing their lives? For us; for the country. And this jackal who ran with his tail between his legs used such language for the army chief and DG ISI," Khan said.

The powerful army, which has ruled Pakistan for more than half of its 70 plus years of existence, has hitherto wielded considerable power in the matters of security and foreign policy.

Khan said that Sharif took "crores" of rupees from Meeran Bank in late 1980s to fight elections against Benazir Bhutto of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

"This is the man who put (PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali) Zardari in jail twice. It was Zardari who instituted the Hudaibiya Paper Mills case against him (Sharif), not General Bajwa,"said Khan.

Commenting on the joint rally of the opposition parties, Khan termed it as a "circus".

He also targeted PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sharif's daughter Maryam Nawaz, saying the two "children" who have never worked for an hour in their life and lived by using the "ill-gotten gains of their fathers" were making speeches.

Khan said these leaders would even sell the country to protect their wealth that they amassed through illegal means. 
On September 20, nearly a dozen opposition parties launched the PDM and announced a three-phased anti-government movement to oust the Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government.

Addressing the PDM rally in Gujranwala on Friday, Sharif said: "(Army chief) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa ended my government. He rigged 2018 elections and imposed incapable Imran Khan on the nation. Gen. Bajwa is a direct culprit and he will have to give an answer to this."

"You can label me a traitor if you want, seize my properties, file false cases against me but I will continue to speak for my people," said Sharif, who is facing multiple corruption charges and is currently on bail.

This is not the first time that Sharif has gone after the military leadership. During the opposition's multi-party conference last month, he had bitterly criticised the army, saying there was "a state above the state in the country". However, he had refrained from naming anyone.

The PML-N leader, however, made it clear that he was not against the army but some individuals who violated the Constitution.

Since his anti-army rant, the federal government has banned the media to broadcast Sharif's speeches.

The Opposition parties are openly protesting against the military's interference in politics and elections for the first time in the recent history of the country.

Sharif has been living in London since November last year after he was allowed by the courts and the government to go there for a period of eight weeks for medical treatment. But he did not come back, while his lawyers told the court that he was still recovering.

The Islamabad High Court through newspaper advertisements has asked Sharif to appear before it by November 24 to avoid being declared a "proclaimed offender".

They are demanding a unified pay structure, job insurance and physical security. These are not big demands, especially for the Pakistan Prime Minister who has always made tall claims about supporting daily wage earners.

He is now using the socio-economic crises and IMF loans as a pretext to reject these demands. At the same time he is cracking down on opposition voices.

Asif Ali Zardari, the former President of Pakistan and the leader of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has been issued an arrest warrant by the national accountability bureau of Pakistan — the country's anti-corruption watchdog.

The Opposition leaders announced that they would use all political and democratic options, including no-confidence motions and mass resignations from Parliament to seek "the selected" prime minister's resignation.

Police stations in Gujranwala, Mandi Bahuddin and Lahore registered cases against over 450 Opposition workers under sections 269 and 188 of Pakistan Penal Code for holding a public gathering without observing COVID-19 SOPs.

The former prime minister and PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif, who is London since November last year, in a tweet, said that police should refrain from arresting the PDM leaders.

"Police must NOT comply with Imran Niazi's workers, raid their homes or hinder their travel to Gujranwala,"&nbsp;he said. 
Former premier and PDM leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said the government's panic over the first public meeting of Opposition has exposed its reality.

"Blocking roads with containers, raiding corner meetings, arresting PDM workers across Punjab, won't deter the spirits of the masses who have decided to rid the country of this selected and inept government."

He said, "People are starving and struggling to feed their families because of the unprecedented inflation and unemployment created by this government which is the most corrupt government in the history of Pakistan."

Abbasi said no amount of threats, harassment or containers can stop the massive flood of Pakistanis participating in the October 16 public meeting.

PML-N secretary general Ahsan Iqbal said the PTI government is "shaking in its boots over the first Opposition's rally which goes to show how confident it is about itself."

He said the PTI government is doing all it can to "harass and sabotage" the upcoming congregation.

Meanwhile, the government has allowed the Opposition to hold the rally in Gujranwala Stadium with a direction that no speeches would be made against the military and judiciary.

Over 450 Opposition workers booked ahead of anti-government rally in Pakistan

A Pakistani court on Monday reserved the judgment on the admissibility of petitions against the construction of a Hindu temple in national capital Islamabad.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), a ruling ally of the Imran Khan government, has opposed the construction of the Krishna temple, asking its coalition partner to scrap the project as it is "against the spirit of Islam".

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) last week stopped the construction of the boundary wall on the plot meant for the temple citing legal reasons.

The Islamabad High Court case was informed that the government has referred the matter to the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII).

As per plans, the Krishna temple is supposed to come up in a 20,000 sq ft plot in the capital's H-9 administrative division. The groundbreaking ceremony for the temple was performed recently by Parliamentary Secretary on Human Rights Lal Chand Malhi.

The case was heard by Justice Amir Farooq.

The CDA, the civic body for development of Islamabad, told the court that the construction of the temple was stopped as its detailed construction plan and design was not submitted.

According to the CDA urban planning director, an application was received from the Hindu community for land to set up a temple, cremation ground and community centre and the work on the application was started in 2016.

Finally, the plot measuring about half of an acre was allotted in 2017 to the Hindu community in Sector H-9 area of Islamabad after due deliberation and consultations with various departments.

The plot was handed over to the Hindu Panchayat in 2018.

Deputy Attorney-General Raja Khalid Mehmood appearing on behalf of the government said the case against the temple was sending a negative message to the world about Pakistan.

He also rejected claims by the petitioners that the government paid Rs 10 crore for the construction of the temple. 
After hearing the arguments, Justice Farooq reserved the judgment till further order.

Pak court reserves verdict on construction of Hindu temple in Islamabad

The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on Sunday expelled a senior lawmaker, days after a controversial audio clip was leaked on social media in which she was purportedly heard speaking on the increasing role of the military establishment in the government and commenting on the private lives of Prime Minister Imran Khan and his third wife.

The PTI in a statement said it has expelled Punjab Assembly member Uzma Kardar from the party for "violation of discipline". However, it offered no further explanation. Kardar, who won a reserved seat for women as a PTI candidate in the 2018 general elections, was one of the most active leaders in the Punjab province.

However, she added that the harassment was "nothing close to the violent, aggressive attacks" she has experienced by the people "affiliated with the PPP".&nbsp;

In the interview, Ritchie also said that the issue of sexual harassment in Pakistan "comes mostly from the educated elites".

She also said that she decided to come out with her reality after so long as some "detailed information" was shared by a person associated with PPP, but pretended to be his half-sibling.

"Abusing me is one thing. Abusing my family is where I draw the line," she added.

She also said that abuse is not openly discussed in Pakistan as it is in the West and is considered acceptable "as long as one maintains a luxury lifestyle".

In a Facebook Live video, Ritchie, earlier this month said that she was raped by former interior minister Rehman Malik. She also accused former federal minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin and ex-prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani of "physically manhandling" her.&nbsp;

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has started contacting allies as the government looks to amend the Army Act to continue army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa's extension beyond six months. 
 
The development comes days after Pakistan's Supreme Court granted conditional permission to extend Army Chief General Qamar Jawed Bajwa's tenure. 
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met a delegation of the Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) on Sunday in Karachi. 
 
Pakistan based newspaper Dawn quoted an MQM-P source as saying that the main purpose of the meeting was to show that the PTI-led coalition, of which the MQM-P is a vital part, was intact and that there would be smooth sailing in legislation pertaining to the extension of army chief's tenure. 
 
Qureshi and MQM-P leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui spoke to media after their meeting. 
 
"We are bound to [carry out] that legislation. We have accepted it respectfully," Foreign Minister Qureshi said, responding to a question if the government would succeed in amending the Army Act. 
 
Siddiqui said his party would continue to extend "unconditional" support to the PTI-led government on "important national issues".

After the Election Commission of Pakistan&nbsp;(ECP) ordered hearing of the foreign funding case against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on a daily basis, Prime Minister Imran Khan assured his party leaders not to worry about the case.&nbsp;

Addressing a meeting with government spokespersons at Prime Minister Office, Khan said that the PTI had already got an audit of the party funds conducted and its proof had been submitted to the courts and relevant forums, Dawn reported.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan said Khan was of the view that the ECP could try any case, but it was the government's request to hear cases of all three major parties: PTI, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) simultaneously.

"We have already filed applications in the ECP for probing the party funding of PPP and PML-N; therefore, we demand that the commission should hear cases of three parties at the same time and not to single out PTI," the Prime Minister was quoted as saying.

"Party members should not be worried regarding the foreign funding case because party funds have already been audited and their reports have been presented before the courts," he added.

The order of day-to-day hearing came after the opposition's Rehbar Committee on Wednesday submitted an application, asking the ECP to decide the case before the expiry of the chief election commissioner's term next month. The application pointed out that the foreign funding case against the PTI had been pending with the ECP for the past five years.

"We urge that in the interest of justice the case may be heard on a daily basis and decided at the earliest during the term of the Commission [CEC]," it stated. The foreign funding case is fixed for hearing before the scrutiny committee on Nov 26. The scrutiny committee during its last meeting on Nov 12 had been told that a writ petition of the party was pending before the Islamabad High Court and it was unable to attend its meeting till a decision by the court and appointment of a new lead lawyer.&nbsp;&nbsp;
