<p>Delhi Police said that a probe began after they received information from the Special Protection Group (SPG) at 5:30am local time about the drone in the no-flying zone above PM Modi's residence.&nbsp;</p>

<p>SPG is an elite force that looks after the security of the Prime Minister of India.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Delhi Police said in a statement: "Information was received about an unidentified flying object near the PM's residence. Thorough searches were made in nearby areas but no such object was detected."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Police also said that the air traffic control room (ATC) was also contacted. They also didn't detect any such flying object near the PM's residence.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Officials added that "at present, due to the sensitive area, the police are investigating. Things will be clear only after verifying the facts".&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>PM Modi's security&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>Recently, a new set of rules issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs stated that security will now be handled by an officer not less than the rank of an Additional Director-General belonging to the Indian Police Service. The rules noted that the junior officers will be appointed on deputation for an initial period of six years.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>PM Modi's Varanasi visit&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>PM Modi is likely to visit Kashi on July 7 on the proposed tour of his parliamentary constituency Varanasi. A statement said that it is believed that during this time the Prime Minister will gift several schemes worth about three thousand crores to Kashi. In this, various projects are to be inaugurated and the foundation stone laid by the Prime Minister.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Uttar Pradesh government is preparing a list of all the projects to be dedicated and laying the foundation stone. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently reviewed the progress of development works with the officials.&nbsp;</p>

She is an agent for China and Pakistan, who destroyed India,” said Yatnal while addressing a poll rally in Koppal.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was the first leader to respond to Yatnal's attack.</p>

<p>“Facing a complete rout in the assembly elections, BJP leadership is frustrated to the core and is hurling filth and muck, which is the product of their ugly character and dirty mindset of denigrating and insulting the Congress Leadership. They have lost all sense of propriety, political balance and even a remote iota of decency and decorum."</p>

<p>Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal took to Twitter and launched another attack on BJP.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Every election, they hurl new abuses to insult Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji, who has led her entire life with utmost dignity and grace. BJP continues to stoop to new lows, with their filthy language against our leaders. Modi ji, do you endorse these words?” he tweeted.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Kharge apologises</strong></h2>

<p>On Thursday, it was the leader of opposition Kharge who crossed the line and insulted the PM. After clamouring from the BJP, Kharge apologised and tweeted, “My statement was neither for PM Modi personally nor for any other person, but for the ideology he represents."</p>

<p>Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the latest tiger census data on Sunday (April 9), which revealed that the population of big cats in India was 3,167 in 2022.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The growth is significant as the data revealed that the population of tigers in India stood at 1,411 in 2006, 1,706 in 2010, 2,226 in 2014, 2,967 in 2018 and 3,167 in 2022.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The prime minister also launched the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA), which will focus on the protection and conservation of seven major big cats of the world, including tiger and lion.&nbsp;</p>

<p>PM Modi also released a booklet "Amrit Kaal Ka Tiger Vision", which presented the vision for tiger conservation in the next 25 years, at the inaugural session of the commemoration of 50 years of 'Project Tiger'.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Indian prime minister also said that the protection of wildlife was a universal issue, adding that IBCA was India's endeavour for the protection and conservation of big cats.</p>

The 92-year-old American businessman had&nbsp;kicked off a row with his comments linking the controversy over Gautam Adani's business empire&nbsp;and PM Modi. Jaishankar said Soros was "old, rich opinionated person, sitting in New York" who still thinks that his views determine how the world should work.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Essentially, Mr Soros at the Munich conference said that India is a democratic country. But he does not think that the prime minister of India is a democrat. A few years ago, in the same conference, when I was there, he actually accused us of planning to strip millions of Muslims of citizenship. That, of course. did not happen... it was a ridiculous suggestion," Jaishankar is heard saying in a video tweeted by news agency ANI while making a reference to the Citizenship Amendment Act, which was labelled by critics as an "anti-Muslim law".&nbsp;</p>

<p>"But you have to understand what this actually means. I could take a view that the individual in question - Mr Soros - is old, rich opinionated person, sitting in New York. He still thinks that his views should determine how the world works. Now, if I could only stop at old, rich and opinionated, I would put it away.... such people actually invest resources in shaping narratives," the Foreign Minister further said.&nbsp;</p>

He said that the south wants human-centric globalisation, which aims at bringing prosperity and well-being to humanity.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Indian prime minister urged for having diversified global supply chains and finding ways to link developing countries to these value chains.&nbsp;</p>

<p>PM Modi said the summit agreed on the importance of south-south cooperation and also discussed why is it necessary to shape the global agenda collectively.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Indian government two years ago announced an ambitious $1.2 trillion mega project called Gati Shakti (Hindi for strength of speed) or National Master Plan for multi-modal connectivity plan. Now, under the project, the government is set to create a digital platform that will combine 16 ministries across different verticals so that infrastructure projects do not get entangled in bureaucratic mess and red tapism.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Under the new portal, the private and government companies as well as investors will have a one-stop solution for the design and approval of projects while figuring out the costs without much difficulty.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It is estimated that one in four infrastructure projects in India exceed their estimated budget while half of the projects get delayed.</p>

<p>According to Amrit Lal Meena, special secretary of logistics in the ministry of commerce and industry, of the 1,300 projects, Gati Shakti’s portal currently oversees, almost 40 per cent were delayed due to issues related to land acquisition, forest, and environment clearances, resulting in cost overruns.</p>

<p>“The mission is to implement projects without time overrun and cost overrun. Global companies choosing India as their manufacturing center is the objective.” said Meena regarding the objective of the new portal.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As reported by WION, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during the budget speech, earlier this year unveiled India at 100 plan while elaborating on PM Gati Shakti programme to accelerate growth.</p>

<p>The plan involves seven engines namely: Railways, roads, airports, ports, mass transport, waterways, and logistics infrastructure. The minister also informed that 100 PM Gati Shakti cargo terminals will be developed during the next three years.</p>

<p>Under the scheme 400 new generation, Vande Bharat trains with better efficiency will be&nbsp;brought in the next three&nbsp;years.</p>

<p>Ever since PM Modi came to power, he has been focusing on making India a hub of infrastructure projects. To ensure that the benefits of the trillion-dollar project are visible on the ground, PM Modi in a speech batted for decentralisation of the programme.</p>

<p>He said that states can come up with&nbsp;their own master plans along lines of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“This would expedite the implementation of the Mission. Parallelly, they should work to use technology for enhancing ‘ease of living’ of the common man,” the PM was quoted as saying in the statement.</p>

<p>The Prime Minister said that when the country is celebrating 75 years of its independence, the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, then this museum has come as a great inspiration.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The tragic accident took place earlier in the day when an Air Force helicopter Mi-17V5 crashed near the town of Coonoor in Tamil&nbsp;Nadu while on its way from Sulur in Coimbatore to the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington.&nbsp;</p>

<p>What is essentially required is a political and bureaucratic commitment to work overtime to make a ‘sare jahan se achcha’ Bharat, by creating an ecosystem that unleashes the ‘animal spirits’ of Indian business.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For long, India has been a prisoner to socialist dogma, a maze of rules and regulations and flip-flop in policymaking. A fundamental shift in mindset is needed — unless ample wealth is created, no amount of ‘fair distribution’ would ensure ease of living for the poor. Unfortunately, job creators are seen as bloodsuckers, to put it crudely.</p>

<p>Highly conscious of this, Modi, who hails from Gujarat — a state where ‘making money’ is not looked down upon — said in his Independence Day speech this year that wealth creators must be honoured. From the ramparts of Red Fort, he said people involved in creating wealth were, to him, &nbsp;“the wealth of the country”.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He stressed that people should stop viewing wealth creators with suspicion and that they deserved greater respect. Greater wealth creation would lead to greater distribution and welfare of the people. “Our investors should invest more, earn more, and generate more jobs,” he said.</p>

<p>Modi’s SMS to Ratan Tata inviting him to set up a Nano car plant in Gujarat, after being hounded at Singur in West Bengal, is history. The Singur episode highlighted the anti-success and anti-wealth mentality pervasive and endemic in our society, including a section of political leadership and bureaucracy. This has to change for India to achieve her growth potential.</p>

<p>Our business ecosystem has changed since the days of then Prime Ministers P V Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh, but the job of dismantling the fetters is only half done.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Some years ago, Gautam Adani didn’t get an audience with the ‘political CEO’ during his Bihar visit! He went on to set up industry in neighbouring Jharkhand.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The recent scrapping of large contracts signed earlier in Andhra Pradesh is indicative of the whimsical functioning of a section of our politicians. These point to the deep-rooted malaise in our mindset that wealth is evil and rich people are bad people!</p>

<p>Eminent jurist and economist of yesteryears, late Nani A Palkhivala had once pointed out, citing figures, that the number of jobs created till then in government and in organised industry was almost the same. What this meant was that people engaged in production in the industry were being regulated by an equal number of government officials. A lopsided development model, to say the least.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It was again Palkhivala who had made a distinction in the colour of black money. The money earned by a doctor from private practice is through perfectly legal means but turns black for not being declared in income-tax returns.</p>

<p>On the other hand, money made on the sly by politicians, government officials, smugglers, bootleggers etc is through patently illegal means and is hidden from the I-T department too. Yet, politicos and top government babus are held in high esteem, while rich businessmen and industrialists are seen as bad, evil people!&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Modi government has repealed some laws and simplified some others, but more needs to be done. Way back in 1990, a leading English daily of Gujarat used to name a businessman in an I-T case only after conviction, and not after a raid. It is a moot point if this kind of respect for wealth creators is possible in these times of media boom.</p>

<p>If we are not to bequeath misery and poverty to our children, the society has to shed its anti-investor, anti-wealth creator, anti-achiever and anti-success culture. PM Modi has struck the right note in his Independence Day address. On his part, he should continue to focus on clarity and stability in policymaking, and shun any flip-flop. &nbsp;</p>
