"Yesterday's dastardly terrorist attack on tourists at Baisaran Valley, aka &lsquo;Mini Switzerland&rsquo;, 2 km southeast of Pahalgam has caught the nation by surprise. He further said that public sentiment should not force the government to take a hasty decision.&nbsp;
"A charged-up nation fed on neo-nationalism is baying for blood. However, the government must not let public sentiment force a hasty decision," he said.&nbsp;
The retired general cautioned that India does not have an overwhelming technological edge in any field, and it should remain prepared for it.&nbsp;

Amongst all this was Sajjad Ahmed Bhatt. A video has been making rounds on the internet, showing a man carrying an injured body, when the terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists.&nbsp;
Bhatt was seen running downhill, carrying the boy to save his life. The boy was wearing Bhatt's orange jacket, to keep him warm.&nbsp;

Bhatt said that he was nearby that day to attend the funeral of his aunt, but when he heard of the terror attack and their call for locals to help, he ran and made his way to the spot.&nbsp;
Those who could sit were placed on ponies and moved to the hospital, he said.&nbsp;
"I was just one person whose video was taken and circulated. There were many people who were doing the same," Bhatt told Indian news media NDTV.&nbsp;
Notably, Pahalgam has no proper hospital and anyone injured has to be taken to the Anantnag district hospital 40 km away.

Ministry of External Affairs had remarked that &ldquo;Pakistan must continue to take credible, verifiable, irreversible, and sustainable action against terrorism and terrorist financing emanating from territories under its control.&rdquo;
As of February 2025, 25 countries are included in the FATF grey list including Algeria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kenya, Nepal, Syria as well as Yemen.

Pakistan further rejected the Indian announcement to hold the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance.

It further announced the actions taken by the committee in light of India's measures, however, ended up copying India's actions.&nbsp;
Pakistan rejected the Indian announcement to hold the "Indus Water Treaty in abeyance", calling it an "act of war".&nbsp;
"Any attempt to stop or divert the flow of water belonging to Pakistan as per the Indus Waters Treaty, and the usurpation of the rights of lower riparian will be considered as an Act of War and responded with full force across the complete spectrum of National Power," Shehbaz Sharif said.&nbsp;

<h2>'Suspends all trade with India'&nbsp;</h2>
It further added that Pakistan shall "exercise the right to hold all bilateral agreements with India" including but not limited to Simla Agreement in abeyance. It also suspended all trade with India including to and from any third country through Pakistan.&nbsp;
It further warned to close the Wagah Border Post, with immediate effect. "All cross-border transit from India through this route shall be suspended, without exception."
It added, "Those who have crossed with valid endorsements may return through that route immediately but not later than 30 April 2025."

<h2>'All visas suspended'</h2>
Pakistan also suspended all visas under SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) issued to Indian nationals and deemed them cancelled with immediate effect.&nbsp;
However, it gave an exception to Sikh religious pilgrims. Moreover, Indian nationals currently in Pakistan under SVES are instructed to exit within 48 hours, less Sikh pilgrims.&nbsp;
Pakistan also declared the Indian Defence, Naval, and Air Advisors in Islamabad "persona non grata".&nbsp;
"They are directed to leave Pakistan immediately but not later than 30 April 2025. These posts in the Indian High Commission are deemed annulled," the statement read. It further directed all support staff of these advisors to return to India.&nbsp;

"The strength of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad will be reduced to 30 diplomats and staff members, with effect from 30 April 2025," it added.&nbsp;

Wagha Attari border will be closed starting immediately, but India gave a deadline to those who have crossed and come to India, to return back.&nbsp;

However, any visas issued in the past will be deemed cancelled now.&nbsp;

The defence, military, naval, and air advisors in New Delhi are declared persona non grata and they now have to leave India. Moreover, India will be withdrawing its own Defence, Navy, and Air advisors from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.&nbsp;
This means that the overall strength of the High Commissions will be brought down to 30 from the present 55 through further reductions.&nbsp;

<li>1 week: Defence, military, naval, and air advisors in New Delhi, have to leave India in a week. &nbsp;</li>
<li>May 1: Overall strength of High Commissions to be cut down to 30 from 50, effected from May 1, 2025.&nbsp;</li>

A day after the Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the banned Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), attacked tourists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, India announced stern actions against Pakistan. During a Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) briefing, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced drastic actions against Pakistan, giving strict deadlines. In a major move, India has asked Pakistani nationals to leave Indian soil while giving them deadlines to do so. It further means that there will be no data sharing, and no obligation to share the water under the treaty. Wagha Attari border will be closed starting immediately, but India gave a deadline to those who have crossed and come to India, to return back. Pakistani nationals will not be permitted to travel to India under the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) visas now. However, any visas issued in the past will be deemed cancelled now. This means that the overall strength of the High Commissions will be brought down to 30 from the present 55 through further reductions. Deadlines to keep in mind May 1: Pakistan nationals, who crossed over via Wagha Attari border with valid endorsements have to return through that route before May 1, 2025. 48 hours: Pakistani Nationals who are holders of Saarc Visa must leave within 48 hrs. 1 week: Defence, military, naval, and air advisors in New Delhi, have to leave India in a week. May 1: Overall strength of High Commissions to be cut down to 30 from 50, effected from May 1, 2025. All this comes as a response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of at least 26 people. The MEA further announced to shut down the integrity check post starting immediately.&nbsp;

The foreign secretary said that Pakistan nationals will not be permitted to visit India under the SAARC visa Exemption scheme.
"Pakistani nationals will not be permitted to travel to India under the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) visas. Any SVES visas issued in the past to Pakistani nationals are deemed cancelled," he announced during the MEA briefing.&nbsp;
