There is tension brewing between comedian Tifanny Haddish and rapper Nicki Minaj. Or so fans of the two artists seemed to believe owing to a recent comment made by Haddish.

During a recent Clubhouse conversation, Haddish seemed to have shaded Minaj when the two were compared by one fan. To which, another fan joked that, unlike Minaj, Haddish comes to appearances on time.

The comedian decided to add on that and said, "And unlike Nicki, I treat everybody with respect and dignity,” she said.

Most were left wondering that what made Haddish target Minaj in such a way but if one digs a little deeper, it seems the two had a minor tiff during 2018 VMAs. While presenting an award to Minaj, Haddish had reportedly made a joke about the Fifth Harmony.

The joke did not sit well with Minaj who apparently went on to tell Haddish to lay off the girls.

“Don’t be coming for Fifth Harmony because Normani is that bitch!” Nicki had said.

The comment was laughed off at that moment but it seems it had sparked off some tensions between the two which continue to linger.

Fans naturally aren't too happy with Haddish's recent comment and are defending Minaj on social media.

Tracy Chapman has won two years-long legal battle with Nicki Minaj over copyright infringement.

According to PEOPLE, Minaj, 38, opted to avoid a trial and offered the 'Fast Car" singer, 56, a settlement of $450,000, which she accepted. The resolution comes after Chapman claimed that the rapper unlawfully leaked a derivative version of her hit song 'Baby Can I Hold You' called 'Sorry,' featuring Nas. The track did not end up on Minaj's album 'Queen' but instead went viral across the internet in 2018 after DJ Funkmaster Flex played it on the radio.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, the legal documents became public in the California federal court on Thursday and stated that Chapman had officially accepted Minaj's offer of judgment. Additionally, the 4-time Grammy-winner may be able to use a portion of the $450,000 she received to cover any legal fees associated with her claim.

"I am glad to have this matter resolved and grateful for this legal outcome which affirms that artists' rights are protected by law and should be respected by other artists. I was asked in this situation numerous times for permission to use my song; in each instance, politely and in a timely manner, I unequivocally said no. Apparently, Ms. Minaj chose not to hear and used my composition despite my clear and express intentions," Chapman said in a statement.

"As a songwriter and an independent publisher, I have been known to be protective of my work. I have never authorized the use of my songs for samples or requested a sample. This lawsuit was a last resort — pursued in an effort to defend myself and my work and to seek protection for the creative enterprise and expression of songwriters and independent publishers like myself."

Chapman first sued Minaj in October 2018 for using her song without permission. The court document at the time read, "The Infringing Work incorporates the lyrics and vocal melody of the Composition, [which represent] its most recognizable and memorable parts. The Composition's lyrics and vocal melody comprise approximately half of the Infringing Work, and are easily recognizable and identifiable as Chapman's."

The lawsuit claimed that Maraj had recorded "Sorry" before her team asked Chapman's representatives if she could. Chapman's team reportedly said no to each of the multiple requests. Months ahead of Chapman's court filings, Minaj allegedly wrote in one of several since-deleted tweets that she "had no clue" her song "sampled the legend, Tracy Chapman."

Newly married singer Nicki Minaj recently came to the defense of her husband Kenneth Petty who was slammed and mocked by television host Wendy Williams. Wendy openly made several comments pertaining to Petty and called him a killer and a sex offender.

Kenneth's past criminal history is a point of concern for some, but Nicki has made it abundantly clear that she's not afraid to retaliate by using her hater's dirty laundry as a weapon. On Queen Radio, Nicki lashed out at Wendy and called her demonic and vicious while weighing in on her scandalous split from Kevin Hunter, reported news agency

"It's not about doing your job," Minaj said. "There are people who report the news and there are people who do it with evil intent in their heart, viciousness. And I pray for you because I know you're hurting and I know you must be sick and humiliated ".

The hip-hop star continued, "I didn't know that in our society, you have to be plagued by your past. I didn't know that people can't turn over a new leaf. I didn't know that your viciousness and evilness was this deep-rooted''.

Nicki then addressed rumours that Hunter was unfaithful to Wendy and even welcomed a baby with another woman during their marriage ". When a woman isn't really being loved at home, the viciousness is a different type," Nicki said.

"So I really wanted to pray for you today, because of look at where you are now in your life. Look at what age you are. You're sat up there being vicious all this time and paid for that man's mistress all these years. You paid for her shopping sprees, you paid for her hotels, you probably even paid for her GYN bills, you paid to have that baby delivered, hoe." "How you doin', stupid?" she added, making light of Wendy's signature catchphrase. And no, it didn't end there.

Nicki concluded the rant by saying, "I know we're human first, we're human before we're celebrities, we're human before we're personas. And I know you must have gone through a lot. But you are demonic, and that's why this stuff unfolded. If I were you, I would go and pray, ask for forgiveness. You can report the news people do it all the time--without the level of viciousness and trying to play dumb and doing all this nonsense."

After fans lambasted Nicki Minaj for retiring from music to "have a family", the rapper addressed her "abrupt" decision.

The surprising news fueled pregnancy rumors that had already been swirling since June after she appeared on a late-night television show and opted against drinking.

She went Instagram-official with her partner Petty in December 2018, after rebooting the relationship decades after they were involved as teenagers.

The rekindled romance raised eyebrows considering Petty's criminal past: he is a registered sex offender in New York and was convicted in 1995 of attempted rape.

Minaj dismissed criticism of her new relationship, saying "He was 15, she was 16 ... in a relationship. But go awf Internet. Y'all can’t run my life. Y'all can't even run y'all own life. Thank you boo."

- 'Walking exaggeration' -

Minaj's profanity-laced lyrics, skin-baring music videos and unique, animated flow first catapulted her to fame in 2010.

Known for her bold sartorial style that includes neon costumes and wigs, Minaj -- whose hits include "Starships," "Bang Bang" and "Anaconda" -- is considered one of rap's most influential female artists.

The Grammy-nominated artist born in Trinidad and Tobago cites Foxy Brown and Jay-Z as major inspirations, and has crafted a lightning-speed sound distinctive for her use of alter egos and accents, especially British cockney.

She's "a sparkling rapper with a gift for comic accents and unexpected turns of phrase," wrote a New York Times critic in 2018. "She's a walking exaggeration, outsize in sound, personality and look."

"And she's a rapid evolver, discarding old modes as easily as adopting new ones."

Her brash personality and penchant for controversy also made Minaj a tabloid regular, especially for a feud at a Fashion Week 2018 after-party that saw rap rival Cardi B throw a shoe and allegedly attempt to fight Minaj.

Cardi B later said Minaj had dissed her aptitude as a mother.

The rap queen's retirement announcement was a particularly surprising turn of events as Minaj has been quite active in music this summer.

Last month, she appeared in rising star Megan Thee Stallion's song "Hot Girl Summer."

In June 2019, she released a single entitled "Megatron" and said she had a new studio album in the works, which would be her fifth.
But Minaj is no stranger to spectacle, and some fans wondered on social media whether her retirement announcement was but a marketing strategy ahead of an album drop.
Rap queen Nicki Minaj on Thursday shocked fans by announcing her retirement from music, saying she was going to focus on family. The provocative 36-year-old known for hits like "Super Bass" is engaged to music executive Kenneth Petty, and she recently said a wedding is in the cards in the coming months. "I've decided to retire & have my family," tweeted the wildly successful rapper raised in the New York borough of Queens. "I know you guys are happy now," she continued. "To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, X in the box - cuz ain't nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE." I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, ❌ in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. ✅ Love you for LIFE 😘♥️🦄 — Mrs. Petty (@NICKIMINAJ) September 5, 2019 × The surprising news fueled pregnancy rumors that had already been swirling since June after she appeared on a late-night television show and opted against drinking. Thank you boo." - 'Walking exaggeration' - Minaj's profanity-laced lyrics, skin-baring music videos and unique, animated flow first catapulted her to fame in 2010. "She's a walking exaggeration, outsize in sound, personality and look." "And she's a rapid evolver, discarding old modes as easily as adopting new ones." Her brash personality and penchant for controversy also made Minaj a tabloid regular, especially for a feud at a Fashion Week 2018 after-party that saw rap rival Cardi B throw a shoe and allegedly attempt to fight Minaj. Cardi B later said Minaj had dissed her aptitude as a mother. The rap queen's retirement announcement was a particularly surprising turn of events as Minaj has been quite active in music this summer. Last month, she appeared in rising star Megan Thee Stallion's song "Hot Girl Summer." In June 2019, she released a single entitled "Megatron" and said she had a new studio album in the works, which would be her fifth. But Minaj is no stranger to spectacle, and some fans wondered on social media whether her retirement announcement was but a marketing strategy ahead of an album drop. "Nicki minaj is deadass lying watch her drop a whole new album featuring Rihanna," tweeted one user.

Several Hollywood singers and musicians stormed the social media with messages to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the riots at the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village. According to Billboard, many musicians are giving live performances during the weekend to mark the anniversary of the commencement of the LGBTQ movement. Lady Gaga delivered a passionate speech at Stonewall on Friday and declared that she would "take a bullet" for the LGBTQ community. "I couldn`t be more proud of every single person in that crowd and around the world today. This community inspires me so much. Your courage, your bravery, your relentless pursuit of kindness. Celebrate yourselves today, and hopefully every day. I love you. #PRIDE," she captioned the picture on Instagram where she can be seen all dresses in rainbow colour attires. People's Choice Awards 2018: 'Avengers Infinity War', Nicki Minaj, 'Black Panther' win big

There seems to be no end to the feud between rappers, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B.

After their infamous New York Fashion Week fight that saw Cardi hurling a shoe at Minaj, the two have been quite open about their dislike for each other.

Claiming innocence on a number of things, Minaj addressed her ongoing feud with the 'I like it' singer and opened up about last month's altercation between the two during the latest episode of her radio show, Queen Radio.

"The altercation was something so mortifying and so humiliating to go through in front of a bunch upper-echelon people who have their life together,” Minaj said.

Responding to her comments, Cardi uploaded a 10-part Instagram video series and addressed the multiple aspects of the feud calling Minaj a liar.

In the heat of the moment, she ended up flashing Minaj's phone number to her Instagram followers.

Soon after that, Minaj took to Twitter and said, "I’ll pay you to take a lie detector test about every claim I made on #QueenRadio. You won’t. I must admit you’re a convincing liar. You looked me dead in my face and said you told ya, man, not to do the “no flags” video cuz I was dissing you. London on da Track got the same call."

Feud crops up between singers Nicki Minaj and Cardi B

Social media profiles of singers Nicki Minaj and Eminem are proof that the two are dating and if it’s true then this should be the biggest high-profile hookup of 2018 in the world of music.

News of the two dating started circulating ever since Nicki Minaj mentioned how she “just bagged a white guy” and further said, “told ’em I met Slim Shady / Bagged the Em.” Of course we all know that Eminem goes by the name of Em in the close circuit of friends.

When a fan then asked Nicki on Instagram if she was dating Eminem, she flatly responded with “Yes.” It all added up when Eminem then responded saying, “Girl, you know it’s true.”

It didn’t stop at this at all as at a recent event, the “Slim Shady” singer gave a shout out to Nicki and asked his fans if they want him to date her. He said, “Yo, Boston, how many people in here want me to date Nicki Minaj? So wait, one more time: Let me make sure I can actually make this official. How many people want me to date Nicki Minaj?”

And as the crowd roared, Eminem confessed he wanted to date her too and said, “Well goddamnit, me too! We’ll figure this s**t out. How we’re gonna deal with this publicly?”

The video soon went viral and reached Nicki who then took to Twitter to write: “Lmfao. The fact that he is silly and a goof just like me. Love him so much. We need you on the Queen album. That’s where our first date will be in the studio while I gaze into your beautiful eyes as you write your verse. (sic)”
