Beau DeMayo, the creator of X-Men '97, claims he was fired by Marvel Studios and had his credits removed from the show’s second season due to a Pride Month post, a claim Marvel firmly denies.

On August 16, Marvel Studios released a statement, explaining that DeMayo was terminated in March 2024 following an internal investigation. "Given the egregious nature of the findings, we severed ties with him immediately, and he has no further affiliation with Marvel," the statement added.

Reports also suggest that DeMayo was also investigated for alleged sexual misconduct and that his removal of writing credits was due to violations of his termination agreement.

In response, DeMayo’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, issued a statement to refute the claims. He accused Disney of following a "pattern of silencing employees through dubious contractual practices". &nbsp;

"Having much experience with Disney, the playbook is always the same. Family-friendly on the outside, but secretly attempting to plant illegal unconscionable items in contracts that silence the truth and stop the employee/customer from asserting basic constitutional rights," the statement read.

"As we will explain through detailed examples which we will roll out in detail one by one, Disney’s model is very clear and a repetitive illegal pattern. Once it gets challenged or exposed, the gaslighting and redirection of the blame toward anyone willing to tell the truth starts through an international well-oiled publicity machine."

On August 15, DeMayo took to X to allege that Marvel fired him because of a fan-art post he shared during Pride Month. The artwork, which celebrated LGBTQ+ pride, was posted in June, and DeMayo claims he received a letter from Marvel on June 13 informing him that his season 2 credits were stripped due to the post.&nbsp;

"Above is #XMen fan-art I posted on Instagram for Gay Pride in June. On June 13, #Marvel sent a letter notifying me that they’d stripped my Season 2 credits due to the post. Sadly, this is the latest in a troubling pattern I suffered through while working on #XMen97 and #Blade," his statement claimed.

"I’ll have more to say soon but must take a step back from social media to find a safer space for me to be out, proud, and nerdy. Stay tuned," he wrote.

‘Fu**king nightmare’: Kristen Stewart says she will never work in a Marvel movie, except...

Actor Steven Yeun is no longer part of Marvel's upcoming movie Thunderbolts, and herecently expressed his regret for&nbsp;backing out of the project. The news of the actor's involvement in the MCU project came out earlier this year, however, the studio has never made an official announcement yet.&nbsp; 
 
Yeun had to exit the project due to his scheduling conflicts caused by&nbsp;SAG-AFTRA strike, which led to a delay in the production of the film. 
 
Speaking to Variety about his Thunderbolts&nbsp;exit during a fashion event, the actor talked about Jake Schreier's directorial as he shared how he wanna do a Marvel movie.&nbsp; 
 
"I think for me, time passing and things shifting kind of pulled me out of it. But Jake, I know, is going to do an incredible job. It took a lot of drafts on email to make sure that I conveyed the sincerity of how sorry I was to have to back out," Yeun told Variety. 
 
"I wanna do a Marvel movie," he added. 
 
When asked what type of Marvel movie he would like to work in, the actor said, "I think it's too early to say that. I probably pissed off too many people leaving, so I'm just gonna say, 'Thank you for having me'."

Marvel Studios has changed the entire release slate due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and writers' strikes. Several Disney+ shows, including Season 2 of What If...?, the WandaVision spin-off Agatha: Coven of Chaos, now titled Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, have gotten delayed.&nbsp;

In the newly reshuffled calendar, some of the MCU's much-awaited spinoffs have been delayed by a year. Season 2 of What If..? will now be released in December, around the Christmas holiday. The animated show was set to release early in 2023.

As per THR, the delay&nbsp;has been done amid Hollywood’s strikes as well as a general pullback at Disney+.

Echo, a spin-off of Hawkeye&nbsp;starring Alaqua Cox as Marvel’s first deaf superhero, will now be released on January 2024, instead of November 29. All the episodes of the series will debut on the same day.

I know how to drive a stick. [But there wasn’t] enough time. They’re saying, ‘We’ve gotta go. We’re shooting. Come on honey. Just go. We’re gonna go.’”

The actress said she proceeded to give herself a pep talk before she drove the car and said that she reassured herself by saying, “OK, I can do this. It’s just one stop.” and added, “[I] get in there. We get up to it. The camera is right there. Sam is right there. And I pressed the wrong thing, I pressed the accelerator rather than the brake.”

Emilia didn’t end up hitting Samuel as she was quick on her feet and hit the brakes before a collision would have happened.&nbsp;

Emilia Clarke will play the role of G’iah in the Marvel series. This while Samuel L Jackson’s Nick Fury and Mendelsohn’s Talos will be seen working together to try and stop the Skrulls who have invaded the highest spheres of the Marvel Universe.

Reportedly, she would have played a character called Seol Hee (Luna Snow), which first appeared in the video game Marvel Super War in 2020. The character was voiced by girl group f(x)’s Luna.

Next year, in 2018, Black Panther released, and destroyed another enduring myth that a high-budget, commercial superhero movie with a predominantly African American cast will not work. And yet again, the naysayers were proven wrong.

With these two films, we saw a significant shift in the representation of superheroes on the big screen. Women and people of colour finally had their chance to shine as the lead heroes, and audiences flocked to theaters to see them in action. This trend has continued with films like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Captain Marvel. DC's upcoming Blue Beetle introduces the first live-action feature-length superhero film with a Latino superhero in the lead. The trailer was received very well, and the film looks great.&nbsp;

Ready for everything that comes his way, Nick Fury can be seen preparing for a war that only he can wage. The first trailer for the upcoming Secret Invasion series dropped today. It is scheduled to premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar.&nbsp;

From what we see in the trailer, Nick Fury has been off-planet hiding ever since Avengers managed to save the Earth reversing Thanos’ snap. While Fury’s been off-planet hiding, Skrulls loyal to him back on Earth, like Talos (Ben Mendohlson), have watched as the extremist Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir) used Fury’s absence to justify their violent antics. When Gravik’s violence rises in intensity, Nick Fury makes his return back to Earth and gets in touch with old allies like Maria Hill (Colbie Smulders) and MI6’s Sonya Falsworth (Olivia Colman).&nbsp;

Nick Fury, however, doesn’t get in touch with the Avengers and tries to do it all on his own. It is this that threatens Earth.

US entertainment conglomerate Walt Disney laid off Marvel mogul Isaac "Ike" Perlmutter in a move to control costs, reported Reuters quoting a source. This comes two days after the media giant started to slash 7,000 jobs, an action the firm announced earlier this year.&nbsp;

The move is seen as revenge taken by Disney after Marvel Entertainment Chairman Perlmutter backed Nelson Peltz in his failed bid for a seat on the company's corporate board, as per reports.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Marvel Entertainment is a division of The Walt Disney Company since 1 September 2009 and is popular for Marvel Comics, a flagship property. Reuters while citing another source said that Perlmutter was informed about his layoff on Wednesday and was told that Marvel Entertainment would be merged into larger Disney business units.&nbsp;

However, there are no comments made so far by Perlmutter. Disney acquired Marvel Entertainment for US$4 billion in 2009.&nbsp;

The Mouse House is letting go of its employees in response to its slow subscriber growth and rising competition for streaming consumers, the company said about a month ago.&nbsp;Disney is vying to achieve $5.5bn in cost savings.&nbsp;

Investors earlier expressed their concerns that the media company was overspending on the global streaming business.
