<p>Phani Kumar, a man in India's Hyderabad, decided to do just that. Sai Vaishnavi, his sister was getting married. The family had suffered from the lost of her father who passed away last year. Phani Kumar had his father Avula Subramanayam's life-size statue made. The statue, when brought at the wedding venue, was a pleasant surprise for everyonw. The wax statue meant that it had very very cloase resemblance to the bride's father.</p>

<p>Emotions took over Vaishnavi and her mother. Both of them along with their relatives cried as they hugged the statue. Phani Kumar has uploaded a video on Youtube. Watch the video below.</p>

<p>As authorities have tightened restrictions across the world in an attempt to control the spread, couples planning to wed had faced three options - postpone, downsize or attempt to carry on as normal.</p>

<p>Many businesses are reporting that the second half of the year is the busiest for them according to the survey.</p>

<p>The expenses incurred in pandemic weddings has increased due to inflation, with 15 per cent of couples saying they are still cutting budgets by as much as 28 per cent.</p>

<p>As a result, people who preferred not to delay tying the knot, even though guests could not attend, got married on Zoom or had a metaverse wedding.</p>

<p>"It’s not sustainable for human beings to do this," says Laine Palm, a wedding planner and coordinator based in Minneapolis.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We’re tired, and we can’t keep doing three weddings in a weekend, which is what we’re doing now."</p>

<p>The report suggests that after 2023, things should start to normalise, and the number of weddings and spending will go back to pre-pandemic era.</p>

<p>An army spokesperson said that she had breached the military’s code of conduct by "indulging in romance while in uniform”, reports BBC.</p>

<p>A video of the proposal went viral last week, purportedly showing a female soldier accepting a proposal from a paramilitary trainee in the government's youth training scheme, known as the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), as onlookers cheered.</p>

<p>It happened during the Passing out Parade in the western Kwara state.</p>

<p>It is unclear when the proposal took place, but the video had gone viral last week.</p>
