Alia Bhatt's sister Shaheen receives rape threats online, to take legal action

<p>A complaint was filed before a court in Muzaffarpur in Bihar on Thursday against filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt, besides actor Alia Bhatt, who have been accused of “hurting Hindu sentiments” through a poster of their upcoming venture 'Sadak 2'.</p>

<p>The complainant has taken exception to the use of an image of Kailash Mansarovar in the poster of 'Sadak 2', which is said to be a sequel of 1991 blockbuster 'Sadak'.</p>

A complaint was filed before a court in Muzaffarpur in Bihar on Thursday against filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt, besides actor Alia Bhatt, who have been accused of “hurting Hindu sentiments” through a poster of their upcoming venture 'Sadak 2'. The complaint was lodged by Acharya Chandra Kishore Parashar, a resident of Sikandarpur locality of Muzaffarpur, through his advocate Sonu Kumar. The much anticipated film marks the comeback of Mahesh Bahtt as a director and features his two daughters Alia and Pooja Bhatt along with Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt.<br />

"It (number of COVID-19 cases) is increasing day-by-day instead of subsiding. In this situation do you think the theatres will open? And even if they do and 'Sadak 2' is released, will people go to watch it? People have to protect their families. Today, life is more important," the film's producer Mukesh Bhatt told a news agency.</p>

<p>'Sadak 2' is a sequel of sorts to the 1991 film starring Pooja Bhatt and Dutt. The two actors have reportedly revived their characters in the 2020 version.<br />

The makers stated that while the ambitious project was created for the big screen they have no option but to release it on a digital platform.<br />

"I am compelled to come (on the digital platform) because I don't see any light in the near future. This is the best I can do to survive. There are certain things that you do, not out of choice but out of compulsion. This is the only option left. It is a no-brainer," Mukesh Bhatt added.<br />

Soni Razdan reacts to the nepotism debate, speaks in favour of daughter Alia Bhatt and other star kids

<p>Veteran Bollywood star Nimmi who starred in films in the 1950s and 60s is no more after a prolonged illness. She was 88.</p>

<p>She was brought to the hospital after she complained of breathlessness. She died in the evening, according to hospital authorities in Mumbai. "She was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon after she complained of breathlessness. She passed away this evening. She had been unwell for quite sometime. She had been in and out of hospital this year," a source close to the family was quoted.&nbsp;</p>

<p>She was admitted to a suburban Juhu hospital.</p>

<p>Nimmi was born as Nawab Banoo, who came to be known by her screen name ‘Nimmi’ which was given to her by filmmaker Raj Kapoor. He spotted her for the first time on the sets of his film ‘Andaz’. Raj Kapoor cast her as the second lead in ‘Barsaat’ in 1949. The film had three popular songs -- 'Barsaat me hamse mile tum', 'Hawa me udta jaye' and 'Meri Patli qamar hai' -- all three were picturised on her.</p>

<p>Nimmi got married to writer-director S Ali Raza, who passed away in 2007.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Mourning her death, actor Rishi Kapoor said, "RIP. Thank you Nimmi aunty for all the blessings and love for Bobby on its premiere release. You were part of the RK family. Barsaat was your first film. Allha aapko Jannat naseeb kare. Ameen."</p>
