<p>Bumrah returned with his best-ever ODI bowling figures, taking 6 for 19 (second five-fer in the format overall), and also ended with the best-ever bowling spell in the format by an Indian in England. With this, he has reclaimed the top spot, which he had lost to New Zealand pacer Trent Boult in early 2020. He has been at the numero uno position for as many as 730 days, most by an Indian, ninth-most overall.</p>

<p>Along with Bumrah, Md Shami (3 for 31), Rohit Sharma (58-ball 76 not out) and Shikhar Dhawan (31* off 54 balls) also stood tall for India in their ten-wicket hammering of England. Thus, Shami has also progressed three slots to reach the joint-23rd position, with teammate Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Rohit has, meanwhile, closed the gap with third-ranked Virat Kohli in the batting chart, with only one rating point separating the two, as Dhawan&nbsp;inched up one slot to 12th position.</p>

When I bowled the first ball, I found some swing and we tried to exploit that. When it doesn't swing, I have to pull my lengths back. When the ball is doing something you don't have to try a lot. When the wicket is flat your accuracy is tested. It is a good place to be when the ball is swinging. As soon as Shami bowled the first over, we had a conversation to go fuller. Very happy for him, he gets a lot of wickets. I told him when he beats the bat, that there would be days when he'd run through the side. When the ball is moving around, the keeper and the cordon is very active. Very happy that Rishabh has been working hard on his keeping as well as his batting."</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Indian captain,&nbsp;Rohit stated, "Looking at the overhead conditions and the pitch, the toss was a right call to make. We used the conditions upfront really well. <p>The temperatures are already starting to rise into the 30s but the weather warning doesn't come into effect until Sunday. As per the weather forecasters in the country, the warm weather would remain for much of the week, particularly in southern and central England and Wales, with peaks of 33C possible in southeast England on Tuesday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>UK-based media outlets reported that the East Midlands, East of England, South East England, North East England, North West England, South West England, Wales, West Midlands and Yorkshire &amp; Humber are under a warning for extreme heat.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Met Office has warned the heat is likely to be "population-wide adverse health effects" and can be including "potential serious illness or danger to life".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Met Office deputy chief meteorologist Rebekah Sherwin said the UK highs would continue into early next week. Sherwin said, "From Sunday and into Monday, temperatures are likely to be in excess of 35C in the southeast (of England), although the details still remain uncertain."&nbsp;</p>

<p>She added, "Elsewhere, temperatures could be fairly widely above 32C in England and Wales, and in the mid-to-high 20s Celsius further north."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Britain's highest recorded temperature was 38.7C at Cambridge Botanic Garden, in eastern England, on July 25, 2019.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sherwin said meteorologists could not rule out that record being broken but it was "still only a low probability".&nbsp;</p>

<p>"A number of weather scenarios are still possible and at the current time, mid- or perhaps high-30s are looking more likely," she added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The extreme heat warning was classified as "amber", the second-highest of three, indicating a "high impact" on daily life and people.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It is Sourav Ganguly's 50th birthday on Friday (July 08). The former Indian captain and current BCCI President turns 50 as the whole cricketing fraternity joined in to wish him on his special day. Ganguly was instrumental in the rise of Indian cricket post the shambolic match-fixing saga, which rocked the national team&nbsp;in the early 2000s, and led the Men in Blue&nbsp;from 2000-2005.</p>

<p>Under Ganguly, India revamped and produced a host of talented cricketers such as Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Mohammed Kaif, etc. whereas seniors such as Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Javagal Srinath, Anil Kumble and Sachin Tendulkar also enjoyed a long and successful run. Ganguly retired from international cricket in 2008, with over 7,212 and 11,363 Test and ODI runs, respectively. He is serving as the BCCI chief since late 2019 and currently is in London with his family and friends for his 50th birthday.</p>

<p>The “Just Stop Oil” group tweeted a picture of the duo— McKechnie, 21, and Brocklebank, 24— whose hands can be seen glued to the Dutch master's "Peach Trees in Blossom". The group has been seeking to halt all new UK fossil fuel projects.</p>

<p>The group also shared a clip on Twitter showing London police climbing the Courtauld’s stairs, presumably to apprehend the demonstrators.</p>

<p>“We’ll destroy the entire group of enemy’s space satellites during the first air operation,” said lieutenant-general Gurulyov, a senior commander who now represents United Russia, the main pro-Vladimir Putin political party.</p>

<p>The move to bomb the UK first as a NATO member would trigger clause five of the military alliance and might lead to World War Three.</p>

<p>Article 5 states that if a NATO Ally is the victim of an armed attack, each and every other member of the Alliance will consider this act of&nbsp;violence&nbsp;as an armed attack against all members and will take the actions it deems necessary to assist the Ally attacked.</p>

<p>‘No-one will care if they are American or British, we would see them all as NATO. Second, we’ll mitigate the entire system of anti-missile defence, everywhere and 100 per cent. Third, we certainly won’t start from Warsaw, Paris or Berlin,” he was quoted as saying.</p>

<p>The airline said: “A number of our cabin crew provided medical assistance to a passenger at Gatwick airport while waiting for paramedics to arrive, however, the passenger sadly later passed away. Our thoughts are with their family and friends at this difficult time.”</p>

<p>As reported by The Guardian, a Gatwick airport spokesperson said the incident occurred while airport staff were helping to disembark three passengers with restricted mobility (PRM), adding that staff shortages played no role in the incident.</p>

<p>The spokesperson said: “This is a sad and tragic incident and our thoughts remain with the family of the deceased.</p>

<p>“A member of Wilson James staff was waiting when the aircraft arrived and was in the process of disembarking the three PRM passengers when the incident occurred. Staff shortages were not a factor in this incident as has been claimed. It is normal for one staff member to disembark three passengers who require assistance by taking them one at a time the short distance to the waiting buggy,” he added.</p>

<p>“Despite the efforts of the ambulance service and wider first responders, an 82-year-old man sadly died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious. A report will be prepared for the coroner,” he added.</p>

<p>A formal investigation is currently underway.</p>

<p>A British man who was in a 10-year relationship with his partner and also fathered two kids, ran off with a Ukrainian woman who had moved into their house a few days ago to escape war.</p>

<p>According to The Sun, 29-year-old security guard Tony Garnett fell for her the minute after he met 22-year-old Sofiia Karkadym.</p>

<p>“As soon as I saw him, I fancied him,” Sofiia, who fled the city of Lviv in western Ukraine, told The Sun.</p>

<p>“It’s been very quick, but this is our love story. I know people will think badly of me but it happens. I could see how unhappy Tony was.”</p>

<p>Garnett, 29 and his partner Lorna, 28, welcomed Sofiia at the start of May, but just 10 days later their seemingly-happy marriage was torn apart when he ran away with the refugee.</p>

<p>The family had taken in Sofiia in their effort to help Ukrainians fleeing the Russian invasion. Tony first got into touch with Sonia touch on a Facebook page where he offered to house a refugee.</p>

<p>“We were getting on brilliantly but at that time it was no more than that — although I can see why Lorna started to feel jealous and resentful of her,” Tony was quoted as saying.</p>

<p>As the days went by, Tony and Sofia began to get closer, while partner grew “very jealous” of him.</p>

<p>But things took an unexpected turn quickly, as Sofiia and Lorna had tiff, following which the Ukrainian refugee decided to leave.</p>

<p>Tony said that “something inside me clicked” and he told Lorna “If she's going, I'm going”.</p>

<p>The pair then packed their bags and moved in with Tony's mum and dad. Now, they are looking at properties to move into.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“It’s human nature to stare at things. However, it’s very different when someone is staring, leering, or there’s a sexual motivation,” DS White told The Telegraph.</p>

<p>“We want to know about that staring because that is the behaviour that suggests to me that someone is thinking about a sexual behaviour that supports that staring.”</p>

<p>The detective warned that such crimes would be recorded, adding “We have had successful prosecutions in that field.”</p>

<p>The top detective’s comments came in response to a campaign that was launched last month by the Transport for London to raise awareness on “common examples” of harassment, including upskirting, cat calling and exposing among others, the Daily Mail reported.</p>

<p>As part of the initiative, posters were installed on trains, saying, “Intrusive staring of a sexual nature is sexual harassment and is not tolerated.”</p>

<p>However, the campaign was severely criticised for including staring.</p>

Staring at women for long can land you in jail, warn UK police

<p>Drying a load of laundry using a machine dryer that uses no heat but just tumbles the cloth to remove moisture releases potentially harmful microfibres into the air, finds a study.<br />
<br />
Researchers from Northumbria University, working in partnership with scientists at consumer goods giant Procter and Gamble on the study, measured the volume of microfibres released during washing, as well as those captured in lint filters when tumble dried.<br />
<br />
The study, published in the scientific journal PLOS ONE, found that domestic dryers produce comparable quantities of microfibres that could be released to the air as seen going into our water systems from a standard washing cycle.<br />
<br />
The team found the use of fabric conditioners and dryer sheets, especially in combination, could significantly reduce microfibre release from tumble dryers. And lint filters with smaller pores would trap larger masses, resulting in far fewer microfibres being released into the air.<br />
<br />
They also found that lint filters were better at capturing polyester fibres than cotton fibres, meaning that most microfibers released into the air by dryers are likely to be cotton.<br />
<br />
The team measured the quantity of microfibres released during the washing and drying of clothing both polyester and cotton. The research spanned both European and North American products and washing conditions and involved over 1,200 garments.<br />
<br />
"By measuring microfibres released during the whole laundering process we found that microfibre loss through domestic drying is a huge concern," Dr Kelly Sheridan, an expert in textile fibres at Northumbria, said.<br />
<br />
"It is critical to our understanding of the impact of microfibres on human health and the environment that all the potential pathways for microfibre release, including air, are assessed. Airborne fibres are just as concerning as those present in wastewater," Sheridan added.<br />
<br />
The findings are a call to action for the appliance industry to improve the efficiency of fibre filtration systems in vented dryers and drive the conversion to condenser dryers with no airborne fibre release, especially super energy efficient heat pump dryers, the researchers said.</p>

Drying a load of laundry using a machine dryer that uses no heat but just tumbles the cloth to remove moisture releases potentially harmful microfibres into the air, finds a study. Researchers from Northumbria University, working in partnership with scientists at consumer goods giant Procter and Gamble on the study, measured the volume of microfibres released during washing, as well as those captured in lint filters when tumble dried. The study, published in the scientific journal PLOS ONE, found that domestic dryers produce comparable quantities of microfibres that could be released to the air as seen going into our water systems from a standard washing cycle. The team found the use of fabric conditioners and dryer sheets, especially in combination, could significantly reduce microfibre release from tumble dryers. And lint filters with smaller pores would trap larger masses, resulting in far fewer microfibres being released into the air. They also found that lint filters were better at capturing polyester fibres than cotton fibres, meaning that most microfibers released into the air by dryers are likely to be cotton. The team measured the quantity of microfibres released during the washing and drying of clothing both polyester and cotton. The research spanned both European and North American products and washing conditions and involved over 1,200 garments. "By measuring microfibres released during the whole laundering process we found that microfibre loss through domestic drying is a huge concern," Dr Kelly Sheridan, an expert in textile fibres at Northumbria, said. "It is critical to our understanding of the impact of microfibres on human health and the environment that all the potential pathways for microfibre release, including air, are assessed. Airborne fibres are just as concerning as those present in wastewater," Sheridan added. The findings are a call to action for the appliance industry to improve the efficiency of fibre filtration systems in vented dryers and drive the conversion to condenser dryers with no airborne fibre release, especially super energy efficient heat pump dryers, the researchers said.
