The investigation revealed that the brothers controlled over 8500 bitcoins, valued at $150 million and were used for money laundering and to finance drug trafficking activities.&nbsp;&nbsp;In response to the US request, India's ED launched an investigation and obtained key records uncovering transfers through a digital payment services provider exceeding Rs 5.54 crore. The deal is under the restrictive regulation of the US, &lsquo;10CFR810&rsquo;, with the approval being valid for 10 years and will be reevaluated every five years.

Friendship between India and US 'strongest it has ever been,' says Trump

Billionaire Elon Musk Friday (Jan 18) said that India-US trade ties were "trending positive" as he hosted a group of business leaders from the South Asian nation at his SpaceX Starbase facility in Texas. The Tesla boss added that he was in favour of enhanced economic relations between the two economies.
The group of Indian entrepreneurs was led by India Global Forum (IGF) to mark the group&rsquo;s expansion into the US this week. The business figures visited SpaceX&rsquo;s advanced space exploration facilities and also witnessed the successful launch of SpaceX's Starship Flight 7.
<h2>Musk's remarks</h2>
"Things are trending positive. I'm certainly in favour of lowering trade barriers to increase commerce between the US and India," Musk told the delegation.

Notably, Musk is going to play a major role in US President-elect Donald Trump administration&rsquo;s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is aimed at cutting operational costs of government machinery.

Musk says India-US trade ties ‘trending positive’ in meeting with top Indian executives

Republican politician and US presidential contender Nikki Haley has said India perceives Washington as 'weak', which is one of the reasons why New Delhi&nbsp;has allied&nbsp;with Russia.&nbsp;

Speaking to&nbsp;Fox Business News, the Indian-American presidential aspirant lauded India&nbsp;for 'playing smart' in the current global situation and choosing its allies.&nbsp;

"I have got to say, I have dealt with India too. I have talked with (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi. India wants to be a partner with us. They don't want to be a partner with Russia," said Haley.

"The problem is, India doesn't trust us to win. They don't trust us to lead. They see right now that we're weak," she added.

The former South Carolina governor asserted that it was the military cooperation between the two nations that made it easier for New Delhi to pivot towards Moscow.&nbsp;

"India has always played it smart. They have played it smart, and they have stayed close with Russia because that's where they get a lot of their military equipment," she said in response to a question.

Haley, however, added that all of America's friends would return once it starts leading again. She said the US needed to start building&nbsp;alliances as the 'friends' were going out on their own to fend off the Chinese challenge.&nbsp;

"When we start to lead again, when we start to get the weakness out and stop putting our head in the sand, that's when our friends, India, Australia, New Zealand, all of them will -- and Israel, Japan, South Korea -- all of them want to do that. Japan gave themselves a billion-dollar stimulus to become less dependent on China," Haley said.

India aligned with Russia as it perceives US 'weak' and untrustworthy, says Nikki Haley

Indian Commerce Minster Piyush Goyal and tech mogul Elon Musk are expected to hold a meeting in US' San Francisco on the sidelines of the third in-person Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) ministerial meeting on November 13-17, media reports said citing sources.&nbsp;

Reports said that talks between Goyal and Musk may feature discussions around Tesla's investments in India and talks on manufacturing of more Tesla components here.&nbsp;

The potential meeting between Goyal and Musk comes at a crucial juncture as US and China tensions are at an all-time high. Numerous US-based firms are looking for other markets as they plan to pull out of China and amid this, India provides a viable alternative with its emerging markets and a growing economy.&nbsp;

The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX also exuded confidence in the Indian market, saying "We're hopefully looking forward to bringing Starlink to India as well. The Starlink Internet, which I think can be incredibly helpful for remote or rural villages in India."
