Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that his party Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will continue protests till Pakistan government announces fresh elections. He termed current Pakistani dispensation to be an 'imported' government.

Khan on Sunday, asked his party workers to be prepared for his call, ARY News reported. The party volunteers have been holding nationwide protests against rising inflation in the country. Imran Khan said that it was national duty to raise voice against atrocities and injustice.

Pakistan is currently facing high inflation. Khan held current government helmed by Shehbaz Sharif responsible for it.

"The national security and sovereignty will be compromised in return for seeking any kind of relaxation from the United States. The present government that had organized an anti-inflation march during the PTI government has now massively hiked the diesel and petrol rates by Rs115 and Rs85 respectively," Khan said.

He rejected the allegations levelled by the current rulers that the PTI government`s policies and agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) were the reasons for the skyrocketing inflation, the ARY News reported.

Khan said that the PTI government had controlled the fuel prices despite being pressurized by the IMF and reduced the petrol rate by Rs 10 per litre.

He said that the US had decided to topple the PTI government through a conspiracy while "Mir Jafer and Mir Sadiq of Pakistan" contributed to the alleged foreign conspiracy adding that he had warned neutrals of destructive outcomes for the national economy in case of the foreign conspiracy`s success, the ARY News reported.

Will protest till government declares fresh elections, says ex-Pakistan PM Imran Khan

Ousted former Prime Minister Imran Khan has upped the ante against the Pakistan government as he urges citizens to join 'peaceful protests'. Pakistan is reeling under two-digit inflation at present.

Out-of-favour middle-order batter Umar Akmal has lashed out at former Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur and ex-bowling coach Waqar Younis, accusing them of spoiling his career. Akmal has not played international cricket for more than two years and has been out of the side following his two successive golden ducks in the home T20Is versus Sri Lanka in late 2019.

In a recent interview with Cricket Pakistan, the 32-year-old Umar slammed former coach Mickey Arthur. The equation between the two has never been ideal and, hence, the right-hander revealed, "Mickey Arthur had personal issues with me but the team management at that time did not raise a voice for me and they have been silent till today. However, Mickey Arthur later did admit that he used harsh words on me. I am among those rare cricketers of Pakistan who have been ignored at every turn,” said the now-ousted middle-order batter.

However, the South African coach didn't take the criticism kindly. Taking cognisance of Umar's statement posted by Pakistani journalist Aalia Rasheed on Twitter, Arthur retweeted and wrote, "Take a look in the mirror Umar!!"

In addition, Akmal criticised Pakistan legend and former bowling coach Waqar Younis, claiming that he refused to promote him up the order in the Pakistani batting line-up, despite receiving advice from former Prime Minister Imran Khan. In this regard, he pointed out, "I asked Imran Khan to recommend team management to send me at number three. Imran Khan himself asked Waqar Younis why I was not a part of the top-order. It will be interesting to see if Waqar also replies to Umar's claims. For the unversed, the latter announced his arrival in international cricket in style by becoming only the second Pakistani batter to slam a hundred on debut away from home. He further also registered his maiden ODI ton in his third appearance and was known for his power-hitting. Nonetheless, attitude and fitness issues derailed his progress and it now seems unlikely that he will make a return to the highest level.

Pakistan withdraws pensionary benefits of five former-servicemen: Report

In a police report to Pakistan's court, Islamabad police has blamed Imran Khan for May 25th protest march violence. Meanwhile, Imran's ally Pervez Elahi spoke about PTI's march.

Pakistan: Imran Khan's ally clears air on his stir

Pakistan's history has been turbulent, with multiple political leaders assassinated since the country's founding in 1947. The latest who is receiving death threats is former prime minister Imran Khan. Here's a list of Pakistan leaders who have been assassinated.

Assassination of Pakistani leaders: A long history littered with conspiracies and hatred

Pakistan has hiked fuel prices for the 2nd time in 10 days. The people have hit the streets to protest against Shehbaz Sharif. Imran Khan has extended his support but is himself in a soup. Pak's interior minister says he could be arrested on June 25. Palki Sharma reports.

A Pakistani politician loyal to Imran Khan has vowed to conduct suicide attacks against top officials in the Shehbaz Sharif government, if any harm is done to the former prime minister.

In a video published on Twitter, Ataullah said, "If a single hair on Imran Khan's head is hurt, then those controlling the country be warned." said Ataullah, a member of the National Assembly from Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. You and your children will not be able to stay. I will be the first to commit suicide against you, and I will not spare you. Thousands of workers are willing to follow suit. "

After a protest march organised by his party got violent and left a trail of destruction in Islamabad last month, the Pakistani government is considering pressing sedition charges against the cricketer-turned-politician.

The Pakistani government has reacted angrily to Ataullah's statement. Threats against the country, according to Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, have no place in the political process.

Imran Khan, who was ousted from power in April through a no-trust vote, has been claiming that the no-trust motion against him was the result of a "foreign conspiracy" because his independent foreign policy and funds were being channelled from abroad to oust him from power. He has named the U.S. as the country behind the conspiracy, a charge denied by Washington.

His supporters have warned of a threat to his life, and in early April, then-information minister Fawad Chaudhry revealed that security agencies had identified a conspiracy to assassinate Mr. Khan.

Mr. Khan reaffirmed the threat to his life on May 14 during a rally, telling his followers that he had filmed a video in which he had recorded the identities of all those who "conspired against me."

The government has increased his personal protection as well as the security perimeter around his palatial mansion in Islamabad's Banigala suburbs.

However, a sitting legislator threatening suicide is unusual.

Experts urged authorities to prosecute Attaullah for his involvement in terrorism.

Pakistani politician ready for 'suicide attacks': Imran Khan’s aide threatens Shehbaz Sharif

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has claimed that a troika of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi and her friend Farah Gogi made "billions" under the tenure of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government.

"It started in 2019, when Imran Khan gave a relief worth Pakistani rupees 320 million to Ahsan Jamil Gujjar - Farah`s husband - under an amnesty scheme," PML-N leader Atta Ullah Tarar said during a press conference.

The Express Tribune quoting Tarar reported that the former Prime Minister gave the relief due to his personal relations and friendship between Bushra and Farah.

Regarding this, he also played an audio tape -- purportedly a conversation between a business tycoon and his daughter, revealing how Farah 'demanded a gift' for the ex-first lady.

During the conversation, the woman said to her father that Farah Gogi allegedly demanded a precious diamond as a gift for the ex-first lady in return for "removing locks" on a project site and withdrawing a report against her father, The Express Tribune reported.

It was revealed during that discussion that Farah Gogi earlier had rejected a three-carat diamond sent by the daughter of a business tycoon as unworthy and unsuitable for the first lady, who she allegedly said routinely wore such things, and asked for a five-carat diamond.

Shehbaz govt accuses Imran Khan, wife Bushra, her friend of making billions during PTI tenure

After Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah issued a warning regarding Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's possible arrest upon the expiry of his three-week transit bail granted on June 2 by the security officials deployed outside his Bani Gala residence, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) members warned of a “strong backlash” from its workers.

PTI Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi asked PTI workers to come up with a "quick response" if Imran Khan is arrested, reported Geo News. "The PTI will retaliate in a strong manner if Imran Khan is arrested. And if PTI workers receive news of Imran Khan's arrest, they should come upon with a quick response to it," Qureshi said in a press conference after attending the party's core committee meeting.

Peshawar High Court on June 2 granted Imran Khan three-week transit bail against a surety bond of Pakistani rupees 50,000, ahead of PTI's second long march to Islamabad. Rana Sanaullah has said that Imran Khan has been charged in over two dozen cases including rioting, sedition, chaos and armed attacks at the federation, The News International reported.

While responding to Qureshi's press conference, Sanaullah said that whoever breaks the law will be dealt with by the law. "Martyrdom of an innocent police officer, using weapons and ammunition is not a political reaction," said the interior minister. He added that the government cannot act as a mere spectator if the PTI "lies and creates anarchy" in the country.

"The law and order will be strictly implemented, we will not break the law nor will we allow it," said the interior minister, adding that as soon as Imran Khan returned to Bani Gala, he started spreading a "new pack of lies".

A few hours earlier, the interior minister had revealed that the decision to deploy security officials at Bani Gala to guard PTI Chairman Imran Khan was made as per the law, however, the "same security" officials will arrest him once his bail expires, reported Geo News.

Pakistan: Imran Khan warns against country heading towards civil war

Imran Khan has now warned that the country may lose its nuclear deterrence and get disintegrated into three parts.

'Disintegration of Pakistan likely,' says former Pakistan PM Imran Khan

Pakistan’s ousted prime minister Imran Khan on Thursday warned of a civil war saying that the country would “break into pieces” if the establishment didn’t announce elections soon.

In an interview to local a television channel Bol News, Khan, who was ousted through a no-confidence motion in April, said, “We will see if they allow us to go towards elections through legal and constitutional means otherwise this country will go towards [a] civil war.”

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party chief further said there was "no question" of returning to the National Assembly as that would "mean accepting the conspiracy" that had removed his government.

He claimed that Indian think tanks based in abroad are conspiring to break Balochistan province from Pakistan.

"Indian think tanks abroad are mulling to separate Balochistan, they have plans, this is why I am putting pressure," Khan said, without mentioning who he is pressuring.

Pakistan could split into 3 parts & also lose its nuclear deterrent capabilities: Ex-PM Khan

In an extraordinary attack on Pakistan's powerful military, deposed Prime Minister Imran Khan claimed that his government was "weak" and was "blackmailed from everywhere" because power was not with him and "everyone knows where it is."

Khan was deposed in April after losing a vote of no confidence in his leadership, which he said was part of a US-led plot to destabilise him over his independent foreign policy decisions on Russia, China, and Afghanistan.

Khan was asked to recall the events of the night of the no-confidence vote against him, who was issuing orders, and who had obstructed the cases against the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders in an interview with Bol News on Wednesday, according to the Dawn newspaper.

The leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said his government was "weak" when it came to power and had to seek coalition partners, adding that if the circumstance arose again, he would seek re-elections and seek a majority government or none at all.

"Our hands were tied. We were blackmailed from everywhere. Power wasn't with us. Everyone knows where the power lies in Pakistan so we had to rely on them," the 69-year-old cricketer-turned-politician said, without elaborating any further who he was referring to.

Khan is the only Pakistani prime minister to have faced a no-confidence vote in Parliament since assuming power in 2018, purportedly with the support of the military. Shehbaz Sharif of the PML-N took his seat.

He added that because of the threat presented by the enemy, the country needed a "strong army," but that there was also a need to create a "balance" between having a strong force and a strong administration.

"We relied on them all the time. They did a lot of good things too but they didn't do many things that should've been done. They have the power because they control institutions such as NAB (National Accountability Bureau), which wasn't in our control," he said.

In an extraordinary attack on Pakistan's powerful military, deposed Prime Minister Imran Khan claimed that his government was "weak" and was "blackmailed from everywhere" because power was not with him and "everyone knows where it is." Khan was deposed in April after losing a vote of no confidence in his leadership, which he said was part of a US-led plot to destabilise him over his independent foreign policy decisions on Russia, China, and Afghanistan. 'I had a weak government and was blackmailed from everywhere': Imran Khan

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Monday (May 30) that he decided to call off 'Azadi March' last week to prevent 'bloodshed'.

The Shehbaz Sharif-led government would have been the ultimate beneficiary of any ensuing chaos and violence, the Dawn newspaper quoted the PTI chairman as saying.

"The hatred against police had already intensified and seeing me [at D-Chowk] would have further stoked the sentiments of my workers," he said. "I was a 100 per cent sure that bullets will be fired. People from our side were also ready as some of them were carrying pistols. It would have led to further hatred against the police and the army and caused divisions within the country ...," he said in an interview with a TV journalist for 92 News.

"I was 100 per cent sure the country would have headed towards anarchy in this situation," he added.

Khan said that his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) would ask Pakistan's Supreme Court whether holding 'peaceful protest' was permissible or not.

"If the Supreme Court does not protect our fundamental rights this time, then it is not democracy." He even went on to say that "this will be the trial of the Supreme Court now".

Last week, multiple scuffles took place between the police and PTI marchers after Imran Khan and his convoy entered Islamabad and started marching towards the D-Chowk despite the Supreme Court`s order to hold a rally at a ground between H9 and G9 areas of Islamabad.

Pakistan: Ruling and opposition parties to hold talks; will there be a political overhaul?

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday, blamed former prime minister Imran Khan for country's economic woes including mounting loans and inflation. This was Sharif's first address to the nation after he took prime ministerial office on April 11. In his speech, he claimed that India needed to restore Article 370 giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

"The previous government is deliberately concealing facts. I want to remind them that you entered into a deal with IMF, not us. You accepted their harsh terms, not us. You pushed the country into an economic mess, not us," Dawn newspaper quoted Shehbaz as saying.

Shehbaz Sharif's speech came just a day after a massive fuel hike.

Pakistan`s Finance Minister Miftah Ismail on Thursday said the government had no other option but to raise the prices.

A day after his government announced a price hike, Shehbaz today said he was starting a new relief package of PKR 28 billion per month "to protect the poor from the burden of petrol and diesel price hike"."Under it, 14 million poor families are being given PKR 2000 [each]. These families comprise 85 million people."

Pakistan PM said this was in addition to the monetary aid already being given to them under Benazir Income Support Programme.

"This relief package will be added to the next budget," he said. While delivering his address, Shehbaz said the country has incurred more than USD 20,000 billion worth of debt, which was more than 80 per cent of the total loans taken during the history of the country.

Sharif said that his government was ready for tough decisions in order to end "incompetency and corruption" and moving the country towards progress.

Conspiracy for 'personal gains'

Hinting at Imran Khan's actions during last days in office, Sharif said that he propped up the issue of alleged foreign involvement for 'personal gains'.

Imran Khan had named USA and had alleged that there was a conspiracy to oust him from position of power. Khan had claimed that he had documentary evidence of the conspiracy but what he put forth was slammed by critics as mere diplomatic communication.

In his speech, Sharif said that Pakistani ambassador had dismissed the notion of conspiracy. Sharif asserted that Pakistan will function in accordance with its constitution and not according to what one person thinks.

Shehbaz Sharif blames Imran Khan for Pakistan's economic problems in first public speech

A press conference hosted by Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan witnessed some heated moments after a journalist raised questions about governance and on his supporters allegedly abusing the Army general, prompting the cricketer-turned-politician to storm out of the event.

The press conference took place in Peshawar city on Friday evening.

During a Q & A session after Khan completed his talk, the reporter suggested that the governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which is ruled by Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, was poor.

“...Secondly, you have a government in KP, and you are without a doubt a popular leader in Pakhtunkhwa. People cast votes for you, but people have not seen the walls of the prime minister's house and governor's house being demolished, nor did they see universities being built in the chief minister's house," Geo TV quoted the reporter as saying.

The scribe also claimed that PTI's "keyboard and social media warriors" have been running trends on social media "abusing the army general".
