<p>The source further said that the change was not a result of Findling’s performance.</p>

<p>Trump’s other Georgia attorney, Jennifer Little, is expected to stay on the legal team and work with Sadow.</p>

<p>The latest development comes as the former president is expected to turn himself in at a Fulton county jail on Thursday night.</p>

<p>Announcing his plans in a post on Truth social, Trump said, “Can you believe it? I’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis, who is overseeing one of the greatest Murder and Violent Crime DISASTERS in American History,”</p>

<p>The former president is expected to be booked on 13 felony charges in connection with his attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election that led to the insurrection of Capitol Hill.</p>

<p>Last week, Trump along with 18 co-defendants was charged with 41 indictments that accuse them of attempting to overturn the election results through election fraud and other criminal means.</p>

<p>On the day of his intended arrest, Trump will be fingerprinted, weighed and have his mugshot recorded, which are all standard processing protocol.</p>

<p>The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday (August 17) said that they are working on tracking the origins of threats against grand jury members who, earlier this week, indicted Trump on 13 charges, which included racketeering and election meddling.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This comes after personal information, including addresses and photos of the jurors, were reportedly shared on right-wing platforms. Officials in Fulton County, which also includes Atlanta, the state capital, said threats could amount to jury intimidation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Our investigators are working closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to track down the origin of threats in Fulton County and other jurisdictions,” said the sheriff’s office, in a statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It added, “We take this matter very seriously and are coordinating with our law enforcement partners to respond quickly to any credible threat and to ensure the safety of those individuals who carried out their civic duty.”&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Whose information was supposedly leaked?</strong></h2>

<p>The posts that purportedly share names and addresses of the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/explained-why-is-donald-trumps-georgia-indictment-different-626154">Fulton County grand jury </a>are being tracked by Advance Democracy, a non-profit research organisation whose president, Dan Jones, a former FBI investigator and a part of the Senate intelligence committee told Reuters, “Statements by Trump and his allies continue to inspire violent language and threats online.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the group, two NBC reporters who wrote about the grand jury incident also had their purported addresses posted online, reported Reuters.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The organisation has also reportedly tracked posts containing violent rhetoric against the Fulton County district attorney, Fani Willis who oversaw the over two-year investigation regarding the alleged efforts made by Trump and 18 others to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The group has also called on the Fulton County police to take the matter “seriously”.<br />

“The latest threats against jury members shows you don’t have to be a politician or government official to be the target,” said Jones. He added, “Equally important is that political leaders on the right denounce these threats and the statements that inspire them.”&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Trump’s case in Georgia</strong></h2>

<p>In a recent update about <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/donald-trump-requests-april-2026-trial-date-for-election-interference-trial-626587">the case</a>, lawyers for Trump on Thursday (August 17) asked a federal judge in Washington to schedule an April 2026 trial for the former president regarding the federal charges against his alleged attempt to overturn his 2020 election loss to Democrat Joe Biden.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Earlier this month after the indictment by the US Special Counsel Jack Smith against Trump, the former president lashed out on his social media platform, Truth Social, and said “IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I’M COMING AFTER YOU!”&nbsp;</p>

<p>Trump has already been charged four times this year, but the Georgia charges may be particularly dangerous for the former president.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This is the only trial that is likely to be carried on television, with the historic proceedings being streamed and transmitted into homes across the United States and around the world.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The main accusation levelled against Trump and the other 18 defendants is that they violated Georgia's version of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) law, which is often used to pursue organised crime.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis who charged Trump and others said that she wants to hold the trial within the next six months.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Just a few weeks after it was made public that Trump had pushed Georgia's secretary of state to "find" enough votes to overturn his loss in the Peach State, Willis had begun the investigation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During their testimony to the US House of Representatives select committee probing the Capitol riot last year, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss said that they received threats over the false claims.</p>

<p>In the court filing, Giuliani conceded that after the 2020 vote, he made statements that “carry meaning that is defamatory per se” and that he doesn’t contest Moss and Freeman’s accusations.</p>

<h2><strong>'Remarks protected under&nbsp;freedom of speech'</strong></h2>

<p>He, however, maintained that his statements were protected by freedom of speech, and also refused to acknowledge that his smear campaign caused emotional distress to the mother and daughter.</p>

<p>"While Giuliani does not admit to plaintiffs' allegations, he, for purposes of this litigation only, does not contest the factual allegations," his lawyer Joseph Sibley told the court.</p>

<p>Giuliani’s aide Ted Goodman said his confession was an effort to bypass the fact-gathering stage and move on to legal arguments about whether he can be held liable for the damages the mother-daughter duo is seeking.</p>

<p>“Mayor Rudy Giuliani did not acknowledge that the statements were false but did not contest it in order to move on to the portion of the case that will permit a motion to dismiss,” Goodman said.</p>

<p>“This is a legal issue, not a factual issue. Those out to smear the mayor are ignoring the fact that this stipulation is designed to get to the legal issues of the case.”</p>

<h2><strong>Victims' lawyer welcomes confession&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>On Wednesday, Judge Beryl A Howell of the DC District Court, acknowledged Giuliani’s concessions in the lawsuit and ordered him to pay more of Moss and Freeman’s legal fees, after previously ordering him to pay them $90,000.</p>

We have repeatedly called on the official Tbilisi to stop this abuse and agree on Saakashvili's return to Ukraine. No government in Europe has the right to execute people, life is a basic European value," he further wrote.</p>

<p>A court in Singapore on Friday (May 26) ordered fallen banking giant Credit Suisse to pay USD 926 million to a former Georgian prime minister. The payment was ordered as it was determined by the court that Credit Suisse failed in its duty to safeguard the former PM's assets. The order is another blow to the collapsed bank.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Credit Suisse was recently bought by UBS, Switzerland's largest bank in order to prevent a financial collapse after series of scandals.</p>

<p>Credit Suisse was sued by former Georgia prime minister Bidzina Ivanishvili in Singapore, New Zealand and Bermuda. Ivanishvili blamed the bank for fraudulent mismanagement that led to the billionaire suffering investment losses. In Singapore, the lawsuit was filed against Credit Suisse Group's subsidiary, Credit Suisse Trust Ltd.</p>

<p>In its decision, the Singapore International Commercial Court ruled in favour of Ivanishvili. It ordered that he be compensated.</p>

<p>"That amount as presently calculated to the date of trial is USD 926 million," international judge Patricia Bergin said in a decision.</p>

<p>Bergin added that as a result of a settlement, the amount "should be reduced by USD 79,430,773."</p>

<p>Credit Suisse released a statement. In it, the collapsed bank said that it will appeal the decision.</p>

<p>"The judgment published today is wrong and poses very significant legal issues," it said.</p>

<p>The court in Singapore said that Credit Suisse failed to safeguard Ivanishvili's assets from fraudulent transactions by his relationship manager Patrice Lescaudron.</p>

<p>Lescaudron was handed a five-year jail term by Swiss authorities in 2018 on charges of fraud and forgery.</p>

<p>Credit Suisse had approached Ivanishvili in late 2004 to offer him wealth-management services just after the billionaire and his business partner sold a metallurgical complex in Russia for $1.6 billion.</p>

<p>Ivanishvili agreed a deposit of more than USD 1 million into a trust set up in 2005 for asset holding and inheritance planning.</p>

<p>Lescaudron, however, misappropriated millions of dollars over the next nine years until 2015 when his fraud was exposed, according to the judgement.</p>

<h2><strong>EU approves takeover</strong></h2>

<p>The European Commission meanwhile approved takeover of Credit Suisse by UBS on Thursday (May 25). It ruled that the merger does not harm competition in Europe.</p>

<p>The commission, which runs the EU's powerful anti-trust regulator, said "the merger would not significantly reduce competition in the markets where their activities overlap" within the European Economic Area.</p>

<p>President Salome Zourabichvili had asked Georgian authorities not to adhere to the Russian initiative as the US and the European Union had urged Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili-led government to follow sanctions imposed on Moscow for the invasion of Ukraine.</p>

Russia banned air travel with Georgia in 2019 after anti-Moscow rallies in the country. Russia and Georgia share a complicated history. Mikheil Saakashvili, former president of Georgia, is seen as one of Moscow's top enemies. He is now in jail. In 2008, after years of tensions and Saakashvili's efforts to forge closer ties with the West, Moscow fought a brief but bloody war with Georgia. However, current authorities in Georgia have been accused by the opposition of forming close ties with the Kremlin in recent years. Ruling party in Georgia insists that it is committed to Georgia's membership of the European Union (EU) and North Atlantic Treaty Organistaion (NATO). Georgia's membership in these two blocs has been enshrined in its constitution and opinion polls show that 80 per cent of the population supports the country being in these two blocs. <p>Two men employed by the legal team of former US president Donald Trump discussed via text message whether to use a compromised voting machine in a remote Georgia county in 2021 to decertify the state's upcoming Senate runoff results.</p>

<p>Two persons entered an election office in Coffee County, Georgia on January 7, 2021, the day after rioters seized the US Capitol. Coffee County is a rural area of the state that largely supported Trump in the presidential election of 2020. They transferred sensitive voting data onto a portable hard disc with the aid of a local election official.</p>

<p>The texts, which were sent two weeks after operatives broke into a voting machine in Coffee County, Georgia, reveal for the first time that Trump supporters thought about using voting data in an effort to maintain a Republican majority in the US Senate as well as to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.</p>

<p>The two men are former NSA official Jim Penrose and CEO of Cyber Ninjas&nbsp;Doug Logan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While Penrose was working with Trump lawyer Sidney Powell to access voting machines in Georgia, Logan's firm purports to run audits of voting systems. Penrose in a text on 19 January wrote to Logan,&nbsp;“Here’s the plan. Let’s keep this close hold."&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the text, Penrose references to the upcoming certification of Democrat Jon Ossoff’s win over Republican David Perdue. “We only have until Saturday to decide if we are going to use this report to try to decertify the Senate run-off election or if we hold it for a bigger moment,” Penrose wrote.</p>

<p>The attempt to hack voting machines in Coffee County, which was coordinated by Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell of Trump's legal team, is part of a larger criminal investigation into intervention in the 2020 election being conducted by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.</p>

<p>Sources told CNN that Willis' office is considering whether to file charges in a potential racketeering case involving several defendants. The two persons who committed the Coffee County breach and were in contact with Penrose and Logan are among the people Willis has subpoenaed.</p>

<p>As part of her investigation, Willis has also subpoenaed Giuliani and Powell. According to the jury foreperson, the special grand jury assembled for the case recommended issuing several indictments in its final report, which was finished in February.</p>

<p>Penrose and Powell also agreed to pay a cyber forensics company before it deployed a team to Coffee County on 7 January, 2021, according to emails acquired by CNN.</p>

<p>The US state of Georgia and its House of Representatives recently passed a resolution condemning Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu bigotry,&nbsp;becoming the first American state to bring forth such a measure.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The resolution, introduced by Representatives Lauren McDonald and Todd Jones from Forsyth County in the suburbs of Atlanta, stated that Hinduism is one of the world's largest and oldest religions, having over 1.2 billion followers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Hinduphobia, as described by the Understanding Hinduphobia Initiative, is "a set of antagonistic, destructive, and derogatory attitudes and behaviours towards Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism) and Hindus that may manifest as prejudice, fear, or hatred."</p>

<p>The resolution attempted to build upon a report by Rutgers University published last year that stated that there had been a noticeable increase in anti-Hindu disinformation.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the Rutgers report, it was noted that "white supremacist and 4chan genocidal Pepe memes about Hindus" were "being shared prolifically within extremist Islamist web networks on messaging service Telegram and elsewhere."</p>
