Musk and Beasley have been trading tweets on this issue for past few days. In his latest tweet, Beasley appears to have nudged Musk by saying 'Instead of tweets' they could meet in person and discuss the issue.

The Twitter feud has been going on since October 31 when Elon Musk, based on a headline in CNN Business tweeted that if USD 6 billion could solve world hunger, he was ready to sell Tesla shares and donate the amount to UN food agency. However, he appeared pointed in his Twitter by asking WFP to explain how USD 6 billion would solve world hunger.

In next two tweets, WFP chief appeared to explain his side by calling the CNN headline 'not accurate'.

"Headline not accurate. $6B will not solve world hunger, but it WILL prevent geopolitical instability, mass migration and save 42 million people on the brink of starvation. An unprecedented crisis and a perfect storm due to Covid/conflict/climate crises," he tweted.

"With your help we can bring hope, build stability and change the future. Let’s talk: It isn’t as complicated as Falcon Heavy, but too much at stake to not at least have a conversation. I can be on the next flight to you. Throw me out if you don’t like what you hear!" he said in the next tweet.

Beasley said in his tweet that Musk's net fortune increased by $36 billion when Hertz bought 100,000 Teslas.

He went on to say that one-sixth of this amount, or $6 billion, might assist save 42 million people who are starving.&nbsp;

Billionaire Jeff&nbsp;Bezos-owned Blue Origin has&nbsp;unveiled a plan for launching a commercial space station in the&nbsp;second half of the decade.

Known as "Orbital Reef" the venture&nbsp;will be nearly as big as the International Space Station (ISS) and will house up to 10 people.

The aim of the&nbsp;"mixed-use business park" is&nbsp;to provide the infrastructure needed to scale economic activity and open new markets in space.

It will fly at an altitude of 500 kilometres (310 miles) with inhabitants experiencing 32 sunrises and sunsets a day.

Blue Origin will work in collaboration with Boeing, Sierra Space, the spaceflight wing of defense contractor Sierra Nevada Corp, and will be backed by Redwire Space, Genesis Engineering Solutions, and Arizona State University.

Both Gates and Buffett previously held the world’s richest title. Musk first passed Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos to become the world’s richest man in January with a net worth of $185 billion. Bezos had held the title since 2017.

Musk has added more than $60 billion to his fortune this year thanks to the strong performance of Tesla stock as well as a recent share sale at SpaceX which valued the company at $100 billion. The SpaceX deal added $11 billion to Musk’s net worth,&nbsp;according to Bloomberg.

The story deemed Amazon founder Jeff Bezos as "just another middleman." However, the prediction made by the magazine did not turn out to be so true as Amazon today is worth $1.6 trillion in market cap and Jeff Bezos is counted among the world's richest people.&nbsp;

Sharing an inspiring message, Bezos took to his Twitter handle and posted an image of the cover of the magazine. "Listen and be open, but don't let anybody tell you who you are," wrote Bezos. He further highlighted that this story is just one of many which predicted Amazon's failures.

The special treatment afforded to the company angered some residents, who are concerned about the impact the plant could have on the water supply and biodiversity.

Supported by NGOs, opponents have sent letters, held protests and gone to court to try and stop the project.

"Tesla has to follow the same procedures as other companies," the Green League campaign group said recently.

Last year, work at the Tesla site was temporarily stopped after NGOs requested an injunction to protect the nearby natural habitat of endangered species of lizards and snakes while they were in their winter slumber.

A residents' consultation, part of the approval process, is due to close on October 14.

Until the survey is completed, final approval cannot be given and production at the factory will not be allowed to begin.

Even then, the state environment ministry in Brandenburg, where the plant is located, told AFP "no date has been fixed" for this authorisation.&nbsp;

Despite local resistance, construction has been completed in double-quick time, replacing a swathe of pine forest with an enormous concrete-paved expanse accessed via "Tesla Road".

Economies of scale

About 500,000 cars a year should roll off the line at the factory just outside Berlin, Tesla's first production location in Europe.

On the same 300-hectare plot, Musk also plans to build "the world's biggest battery factory".

The site will equally boast the "world's largest die-casting machine", said Ferdinand Dudenhoeffer, director of the Center for Automotive Research in Germany.&nbsp;

The custom-built equipment should allow Tesla to "significantly reduce production costs", Dudenhoeffer said.

In the event that the factory is not approved, the carmaker will be compelled to dismantle the entire works at its own cost.

Such a turn of events is, however, "unlikely", said Dudenhoeffer, since the project has considerable "political support".

"Every political party is in favour," the car expert explained, while noting that changes to the factory facade could be requested by authorities, delaying the beginning of production further.

Tesla holds 'Giga Fest' at disputed German factory

Union minister Nitin Gadkari claimed on Friday that Tesla has been told not to sell vehicles made in China in India and to instead make them here.

He also encouraged the Elon Musk-led firm to export automobiles made in India.

"A safe landing system is of crucial importance and we are working on Luna-25's soft landing system," Shirshakov said.

The race back to the moon is in full swing after China in December 2020 became the first country to return samples from the moon since the Soviet Luna-24 mission in 1976.&nbsp;

US space agency NASA also has pledged to land the next man and the first woman on the moon in 2024 as part of its Artemis programme.

Meanwhile,&nbsp;Russia and China signed a memorandum of understanding&nbsp;to set up an international lunar research station.

Russia's space programme inherited from the Soviet Union has in recent years suffered from problems like corruption scandals and budget cuts.

Its space industry took a blow in 2020 when it lost its monopoly over manned flights to the ISS after the successful mission of Space X, the company belonging to US billionaire Elon Musk.

The robot would have "profound implications for the economy," Musk said, addressing a labour shortage. He said it was important to make the machine not "super-expensive."

The AI Day event came amid growing scrutiny over the safety and capability of Tesla's "Full Self-Driving" advanced driver assistant system.

At the event on Thursday Tesla also unveiled chips it designed in-house&nbsp;

for its high-speed computer, Dojo, to help develop its automated driving system. Musk said Dojo would be operational next year.

He said Tesla will also introduce new hardware for its self-driving computer for its Cybertruck electric pick-up truck in "about a year or so."

A few years ago, Musk asked Tesla engineers "to design a superfast training computer and that's how we started Project Dojo," Tesla director Ganesh Venkataramanan said at the AI Day event.

Pushing the boundaries

Musk has a history of skirmishing with regulators, but the controversies have had little effect on&nbsp;Tesla's ascendance over the last year and a half as the company has hit key production targets.

His achievement in building&nbsp;Tesla&nbsp;from a fledgling startup into a pacesetter in the electric car market stands out as a success as other electric auto startups like Lordstown Motors and Nikola have stumbled.&nbsp;

At the same time, Musk has sparked blowback from critics as he pushed or flouted the rules on everything from his use of social media to discuss&nbsp;Tesla's operations to his response to Covid-19 health protocols required by local authorities near the California plant.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has halted its&nbsp;work on a $2.9 billion lunar lander contract awarded to Elon Musk's SpaceX after rival billionaire businessman Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin sued the US government.

Blue Origin had filed a lawsuit&nbsp;claiming that it was&nbsp;"an attempt to remedy the flaws in the acquisition process found in&nbsp;NASA's Human Landing System."

A&nbsp;judge has set the hearing on the case on&nbsp;October 14 as per&nbsp;the US&nbsp;Court of Federal Claims.

"Without competition, NASA`s short-term and long-term lunar ambitions will be delayed, will ultimately cost more, and won`t serve the national interest," Bezos added.

"Milton lied about nearly every aspect of the business," US&nbsp;Attorney Audrey Strauss in Manhattan said at a news conference. "Today's criminal charges against Milton are where the rubber meets the road."

The US&nbsp;Securities and Exchange Commission filed related civil charges against Milton.

Milton was taken into custody on Thursday, and was expected to appear in Manhattan federal court later in the day.

Nikola&nbsp;said in a statement it has cooperated with the government and is focused on delivering Tre battery-electric trucks this year. The company was not charged.

In afternoon trading,&nbsp;Nikola&nbsp;shares were down $1.17, or 8.2 per cent, to $13.02, after falling as low as $12.60.

The charges mark a steep downfall for Milton, who founded Phoenix-based&nbsp;Nikola&nbsp;in 2014 and was its CEO until June 2020, when it went public after merging with a special-purpose acquisition company, or SPAC.

He stepped down last September as&nbsp;Nikola's executive chairman, two weeks after short-seller Hindenburg Research labeled the company a "fraud" and said it made many misleading statements about its technology.

Prosecutors said Milton's improper statements included that&nbsp;Nikola&nbsp;had built an electric- and hydrogen-powered "Badger" pickup from the "ground up," developed batteries in-house that Milton knew it was purchasing elsewhere, and had early success in creating a "Nikola&nbsp;One" semi-truck he knew did not work.

Strauss said the closest the&nbsp;Nikola&nbsp;One ever came to driving was when company engineers rolled a prototype down a hill so it could be filmed for a commercial.

Prosecutors said that upon deciding to take&nbsp;Nikola&nbsp;public, Milton became preoccupied with keeping its stock price high.

The indictment said that on March 2, 2020, the day before&nbsp;Nikola&nbsp;revealed it would go public, Milton emailed a board member that "we need to make sure we are getting retail investors on our side. That is what prevents the stock short selling. This is super important to me."

According to the SEC, Milton targeted ordinary retail investors he called "Robinhood investors," portraying himself as a "different" type of CEO who would be "transparent" about his company, portraying it as a trailblazer.

"Corporate officers cannot say whatever they want on social media without regard for the federal securities laws," SEC enforcement chief Gurbir Grewal said at the news conference.

Prosecutors said Milton's&nbsp;Nikola&nbsp;stake was worth at least $8.5 billion soon after the announcements regarding the Badger.

Milton is still worth $1.2 billion, Forbes magazine said on Thursday.

Tesla Inc is among&nbsp;Nikola's rivals in the electric truck sector. Both companies' names derive from&nbsp;Nikola&nbsp;Tesla, an inventor whose work included electric power, and Tesla CEO Elon Musk is now among the world's richest people.

Russia said on Friday that all was well with the International Space Station and its seven-member crew after its newly-docked Nauka research module briefly threw the ISS out of control a day earlier.

According to NASA, the mishap began about three hours after the Nauka module, named after the Russian word for 'science', had latched onto the space station, as mission controllers in&nbsp;Moscow&nbsp;were performing post-docking "reconfiguration" procedures.

Nauka's jet thrusters inadvertently fired, causing the station to pitch out of position 250 miles above the Earth, leading the mission's flight director to declare a "spacecraft emergency," US&nbsp;space agency officials said.

The crew - two Russian cosmonauts, three NASA astronauts, a Japanese astronaut and a European space agency astronaut from France - were never in any immediate danger, according to NASA and Russia.

Russian cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky told his followers on Twitter not to worry.

It said checks on Nauka's engines were being completed remotely by Russian specialists to ensure everyone's safety, that the ISS was on its normal flight trajectory, and that the docking had been successful in so far as the seal between the new module and the rest of the ISS was hermetic.

It did not say what had prompted Nauka's engines to unexpectedly roar into life.

Dmitry Rogozin, head of Roscosmos, retweeted Novitsky. He had hailed Nauka's docking with the ISS as "a very difficult and important victory for us" and warmly accepted congratulations on Twitter from space entrepreneur Elon Musk.

Rogozin also spoke of plans to launch another Russian module to the ISS in November.

Roscosmos has suffered a series of mishaps and corruption scandals, including during the construction of the Vostochny Cosmodrome in the country's far east where contractors were accused of embezzling state funds.
