<p>Altman’s remarks on Musk have not been consistent. In March, as per Fortune magazine, appearing for&nbsp;<em>On With Kara Swisher</em> podcast, he said: "I mean, he's a jerk,&nbsp;whatever else you want to say about him—he has a style that is not a style that I’d want to have for myself.</p>

<p>Musk's discontent with OpenAI's direction led him to launch xAI in July, positioning it as a competitor to Altman's company.</p>

<p>xAI's ambitious goal is to "understand the true nature of the universe," and Musk has assembled top AI talent from Google, DeepMind, Microsoft, and Tesla for this endeavour.</p>

<p>In 2018, Musk left OpenAI's board after offering to lead the organisation but being rebuffed, according to Semafor.</p>

<p>He said that the drones “lost connectivity and washed ashore harmlessly”. The book is scheduled to be released on Tuesday.</p>

<p>Musk expressed concern over being unnecessarily dragged into the war, saying that allowing Ukrainians to launch an attack could invite nuclear retaliation from the Russians.</p>

<p>Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak tagging Musk on X wrote that his interference led to the deaths of civilians, calling them “the price of a cocktail of ignorance and big ego”.</p>

If I had agreed to their request, then SpaceX would be explicitly complicit in a major act of war and conflict escalation,” he said in response to the post on X.</p>

‘Elon Musk committed evil’: Ukrainian official slams SpaceX CEO over shutting down Starlink access

<p>Starlink CEO Elon Musk reportedly tried to shut down Ukrainian access to its satellite communications network when Kyiv's forces were attempting to attack the Russian fleet off the Crimea coast last year, according to an excerpt from a biography written by Walter Isaacson titled <em>Elon Musk</em>.</p>

<p>Musk told the biographer that he was worried about being dragged into the war and ordered engineers to turn off the satellites as he feared that the attack would amount to “mini Pearl Harbor” and lead to a Russian nuclear retaliation.</p>

<p>According to the book, which is set to be released next week, after Musk disconnected the satellites, Ukrainian drones “lost connectivity and washed ashore harmlessly”, reported CNN.</p>

<p>“How am I in this war?” Musk told the writer, who has previously published biographies of Steve Jobs and Henry Kissinger.</p>

<p>“Starlink was not meant to be involved in wars. It was so people can watch Netflix and chill and get online for school and do good peaceful things, not drone strikes.”</p>

<p>Interestingly, when Musk withdrew $1 billion from SpaceX, the rocket company just had $4.7 billion in cash and securities on hand.</p>

<p>The world's wealthiest person also divested nearly $4 billion in Tesla stock in November. In total, Musk liquidated approximately $23 billion in his electric vehicle company's shares last year to support his Twitter acquisition.</p>

<p>Odeo, a podcasting company started in 2004 by Evan Williams, Biz Stone, and Noah Glass, gave rise to Twitter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The leadership of Odeo believed that the company could not compete with Apple and that a fresh strategy was required when Apple announced in 2005 that it would include podcasts to its digital media application iTunes. When asked about any intriguing side projects they were working on, Jack Dorsey, an engineer at Odeo, suggested a short message service (SMS) where users could post brief blog-like updates with friends. <p>In 2019, the car which was travelling at the speed of 65 miles per hour, in a matter of seconds, crashed into a palm tree and burst into flames. The crash killed Lee, while the other two passengers, including an 8-year-old boy, were seriously injured.</p>

<p>The second trial is scheduled for October in a Florida state court. This one, also from 2019, caused Stephen Banner's Model 3 to drive under an 18-wheeler big rig truck, which sheared off the Tesla's roof and killed the owner.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Tesla has repeatedly denied liability in both accidents and has blamed driver error. Musk's company says that "there are no self-driving cars on the road today," and claims that the Autopilot feature is safe when monitored by humans. In the Lee case, it also claimed that the driver (Lee) was driving under the influence of alcohol.</p>

<p>Reuters reports that these civil proceedings will probably reveal fresh evidence about what Musk and Tesla knew about the Autopilot feature's capabilities and deficiencies.</p>

"If Tesla backs up a lot of wins in these cases, I think they're going to get more favourable settlements in other cases," suggested Matthew Wansley, former General Counsel at nuTonomy, an automated driving startup, and currently an Associate Professor of Law at the Cardozo School of Law.</p>

<p>Bryant Walker Smith, a law professor at the University of South Carolina, says that "a big loss for Tesla, especially with a big damages award" could "dramatically shape the narrative going forward."</p>
