The foundation work for the MAHSR project has been completed at eight stations in Gujarat, including Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Anand, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, and Sabarmati. While the construction is still underway at Thane, Virar, and Boisar in Maharashtra, excavation at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) station is nearing completion.The MAHSR project also includes several river bridges, seventeen of which have been completed, while work is at an advanced stage at four major ones in Gujarat (Narmada, Mahi, Tapti and Sabarmati). Construction is also underway on four river bridges in Maharashtra.Indian Railways said the project will strengthen indigenous high-speed rail technology under the Make in India initiative, with Chennai-based Integral Coach Factory (ICF) and Bengaluru-based BEML jointly developing train sets capable of speeds up to 280 kmph.Vaishnaw said the MAHSR corridor has been planned for high-frequency services with a large passenger capacity, while fares are expected to stay competitive with current rail and air travel options. He added that the project’s safety systems have been developed with assistance from Japanese Railways and adapted to meet Indian operational needs and climatic conditions.

A viaduct is a long bridge-like structure supported by a series of arches or spans between tall towers that carry an elevated road or railway line. More than 90 per cent of the track of the 508km high-speed rail&nbsp;(HSR) corridor will be elevated.

<h2>Construction began in Nov 2021</h2>

The construction of the National High-Speed Railway corridor between Mumbai and Ahmedabad began in November 2021.

The Mumbai – Ahmedabad Bullet Train&nbsp;project will connect Maharashtra's Mumbai city, and Gujarat's Ahmedabad city through 12 stations at an estimated cost of US$15&nbsp;billion, of which&nbsp;the federal government will be providing Rs 100 million, while Gujarat and Maharashtra will contribute Rs 50 million.

The remaining funding will be secured through a 50-year US$12 billion&nbsp;loan from Japan at a minimal&nbsp;interest rate of 0.1 per cent, with repayments scheduled to start 15 years after the line becomes operational.

Though the project faced initial hiccups due to land acquisition issues, the project has been progressing smoothly and the first kilometre of the viaduct was built in six months, and the 50th by April this year.

The Whoosh trains are set to be Southeast Asia's fastest, reaching speeds of up to 350 kph (217 mph).

China Railway has agreed to share its technology with Indonesia, paving the way for future domestic production of high-speed trains within the country.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang conducted a test ride on the high-speed rail during his visit to Jakarta, covering a 40-kilometre&nbsp;stretch in approximately 11 minutes. President Widodo followed suit with a 25-minute test ride, expressing his comfort and urging citizens to shift to mass transportation to alleviate congestion and pollution.

However, PT KCIC estimated one-way fares ranging from 250,000 rupiah ($16) for second-class tickets to 350,000 rupiah ($22.60) for VIP seats. Passengers travelling to downtown Bandung will need to take a feeder train from the Padalarang station, adding an extra 20 minutes to their journey at an estimated cost of approximately 50,000 rupiah ($3.20).

The match which took place on Monday (September 18) saw the participation of professional Japanese wrestlers who showed their game even in the running Bullet train which was packed with passengers.&nbsp;

The event organisers did a makeover of the train carriage and converted it into a wrestling ring. Organisers touted the event as the first-ever of its type where the wrestlers in the competition were blowing punches inside the running bullet train.&nbsp;

The train was running between Tokyo and Nagoya during the game. Nozomi Shinkansen train was running at high speeds of up to 285 kilometres per hour when Japanese wrestlers Minoru Suzuki and Sanshiro Takagi were fighting inside the train.&nbsp;

The event organiser DDT Pro-Wrestling rented out the whole carriage of the bullet train to arrange for the match. The 75 available tickets quickly sold out in just 30 minutes. However, there were protocols set ahead of the fight. The wrestlers were asked to refrain from damaging any part of the train interior, media reports said.&nbsp;

Organisers touted the event as the first-ever of its type where the wrestlers in the competition were blowing punches inside the running bullet train. The train was running between Tokyo and Nagoya during the game. Nozomi Shinkansen train was running at high speeds of up to 285 kilometres per hour when Japanese wrestlers Minoru Suzuki and Sanshiro Takagi were fighting inside the train. The winner who emerged from the game was the 55-year-old Minoru Suzuki. The interesting match went on for about 30 minutes. Train carriage rented The event organiser DDT Pro-Wrestling rented out the whole carriage of the bullet train to arrange for the match. The 75 available tickets quickly sold out in just 30 minutes. However, there were protocols set ahead of the fight. The wrestlers were asked to refrain from damaging any part of the train interior, media reports said. He continued, "He’s like our Charlie Chaplin, he’s just so underrated. And it’s so amazing the stuff that he’s pulled off. So to do something in that vein, with the comedy infused into the fights, I’ve never done that before!"

Earlier, director Leitch informed Insider that most of the film's action sequences take place on a moving train; therefore, some parts were inspired by Chan's movies. They incorporated sequences that were compressed fights adopted from Chan's films that had "lots of quick jabs and kicks."&nbsp;

Pitt, in a conversation with Variety in the past, had spoken highly of Chan. "David and I had always been big fans of Jackie Chan. We’d been talking about him for decades. He’s kind of our Buster Keaton. He’s so talented and underrated even. Just to do something in that direction was what was appealing to me," he had said at that time.

Leitch pioneered a "gun-fu" style approach in the 'John Wick’ series by fusing "Hong Kong action with an American style," which he learnt from Bruce Lee's training partner Dan Inosanto. "When [Pitt] came on this, he seemed to respect me already as a director," stated Leitch. "Obviously we worked a little on ‘Deadpool 2.’ We fell into this great friend rapport that we had in the years we spent together. But I was just blown away by him embracing me as the director and leaning into my ideas."

Researchers from Japan's Kyoto University and Kajima Construction are planning to make artificial space environment with Earth-like atmosphere in specially made habitable zones on Moon and Mars. They also working on the concept of bullet trains to travel there. For this, the transportation system called 'Hexagon Space Track System' is in the works.

“There is no plan like this in other countries' space development plans. Our plan represents important technologies crucial to ensuring human beings will be able to move to space in the future,” said Yosuke Yamashiki, director of the SIC Human Spaceology Center of Kyoto University in a press conference earlier this month.

“As the idea of living in space becomes more realistic, the problem with the low gravity, which I intuitively became aware of when I was a child, is an issue we must overcome. We are committed to achieving the plan so it will be useful for human beings,” said Takuya Ono, a project associate professor with the Center and a senior researcher at Kajima.

Researchers said that the project is expected to be completed by 2050.

A train driver in Japan has sued his employer after 56 yen ($0.49) was docked from his wages for causing a brief delay to the country’s famously punctual rail system.

The unidentified man has sued Rail company JR West for 2.2 million yen ($19,407) after he caused a one-minute delay to operations on June 18, 2020, according to local media reports.

The company reasoned that they cut his wages as no labour had been performed during the stoppage.

According to the Japanese news site, Soranews24, the unnamed man was to drive an empty train to Okayama station in the southern part of the country that morning, but arrived at the wrong platform while waiting to take over from the previous driver.

By the time he realised his mistake and raced to the correct platform, the transfer between the two drivers had been delayed by two minutes. Due to his, there was a one-minute delay in the train’s departure and a one-minute delay in warehousing the train at the depot.

In the following month, JR West initially cut 85 yen ($0.75) from the man’s salary, claiming that no labour was carried out during the two-minute&nbsp;delay.

Later, the company agreed to reduce the fine to 56 yen ($0.49) after the employee brought the case to the Okayama Labour Standards Inspection Office.

However, the employee refused to accept the cut and argued that the delay caused no actual disruption to the timetables or passengers as the train was empty during the incident.

But the company says it acted as per the “no work, no pay principle”, and cut the salary for employee's late arrival or an unexplained absence.

The employee slammed the company for “using wage cuts as sanctions for human error” and said that small mistakes should not be considered a breach of contract.

He took the matter to court in March, and is seeking compensation for mental anguish caused by the ordeal as well as 43 yen ($0.38) in compensation and 13 yen ($0.11) in overtime caused by the delay.
