In a statement, Jan Achakzai, Balochistan’s Minister of Information and Public Relations said that the ban was imposed following a bomb threat and urged all political parties and candidates to hold meetings indoors to “minimise the risk”.&nbsp;

“The govt of Balochistan has implemented a ban on public meetings and election gatherings in Quetta, in response to a threat alert regarding the potential involvement of a female suicide bomber,” said Achakzai in a post on X.&nbsp;

The airport closure lasted for 34 minutes, during which time intensive searches and security checks were conducted. Fortunately, no suspicious items were discovered, as per a police spokesperson.&nbsp;

Passengers on the Emirates flight were allowed to disembark the aircraft. There was also presence of extra police officers to address any concerns and provide reassurance to the troubled passengers.&nbsp;

Paris police said verifications in the museum are underway. According to reports, alarms went off in the vast museum in central Paris when the evacuation was announced and the police have since cordoned off its signature pyramid from all sides, and the underground access.&nbsp;

France was put on its highest alert after a Chechen-origin man fatally stabbed a teacher and severely wounded three others on Friday (Oct 13) in the northeastern town of Arras.&nbsp;

Police in Arras have since arrested the suspected attacker identified as Mohammed Moguchkov, who had cried an Arabic phrase before the fatal stabbing.&nbsp;

The Philippines heightened alert at 42 commercial airports and tried to verify warnings of bombs being planted inside the commercial planes, said its civil aviation authority on Friday (Oct 6).<o:p></o:p>

"Immediate enhanced security measures" were implemented across all commercial airports of the Philippines, said the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) in a media advisory, adding&nbsp;they were verifying the warnings.<o:p></o:p>

The flights identified were headed to Bicol, Cebu, Palawan and Davao and the warnings were sent to the air traffic services by email.<o:p></o:p>

In a memo, dated October 4 but released to media on Friday, the CAAP shared a screenshot of the email, which did not include the word "bomb" but said "an aeroplane will explode" at Manila's international airport and "please beware".<o:p></o:p>

"Cebu, Palawan, Bicol and Davao will also be hit", the anonymous email stated.<o:p></o:p>

The islands of Palawan and Cebu are popular destinations for foreign tourists. It was not clear immediately when the threats were received.

A 45-year-old Pakistani-origin man aboard a Malaysia Airlines flight has been charged for allegedly threatening to blow up the plane during a flight from Sydeny to Kuala Lumpur.&nbsp;

The accused, identified as Muhammad Arif, a resident of Canberra, was arrested by the airport authorities after&nbsp;Malaysia Airlines flight MH122 was forced to return to Sydney, three hours after the flight had taken off. According to&nbsp;&nbsp;Australian Federal Police (AFP), Arif claimed to have explosives on him which set panic among the plane passengers.&nbsp;

Videos of Arif being a nuisance during the flight have gone viral on social media platforms. One of the clips shows him sitting in the airplane's aisle on a prayer mat and bowing to pray, much to the inconvenience of his fellow passengers.&nbsp;

30 minutes into the flight, Arif started pushing and shoving passengers, whilst implying that he had explosives in a backpack.&nbsp;

“I don’t think he specifically said ‘bomb.’ But he was carrying his bag and he said, ‘I’ve got power in my arms’,” added the passenger.&nbsp;

His threats forced the pilots to hit the brakes and return to Syndey. The airport authorities escorted&nbsp;the flight to the isolated end of a runway while&nbsp;flight attendants stayed with the man and the passengers moved to a separate part of the aircraft.&nbsp;

Notably, after being arrested, Arif refused to leave his police cell on Tuesday (August 15) to be produced before the magistrate. The matter was repeatedly adjourned while lawyers attempted to talk sense to Arif.&nbsp;

“I have tried to see him.&nbsp;But he has refused to come out of his cell," Mostafa Daoudie, his lawyer, told the court.&nbsp;

Meanwhile,&nbsp;&nbsp;magistrate Greg Grogin said:&nbsp;“They will have to extract him if he is to come before the court.”

DCP Chandan Chaudhary said that BDS, BDT, and SWAT teams conducted thorough checking of the school premises after evacuating it.&nbsp;“At 10:50 am, the school received a bomb threat via e-mail. We evacuated all the students. We deployed BDT and BDS teams. We informed the Special Cell and Special Branch. We have done a visual search with the SWAT team,” she said.

In a message to the parents, the administration stated, “On account of some unexpected security reasons, we are having to close school early. Kindly arrange to pick up your ward as per details...Front Gate…self pickup…Back gate van users. School will resume as usual tomorrow.”

The police said that the school was evacuated as a precautionary measure. The video from outside the gate of the school showed a huge crowd of parents eagerly waiting for the children.

"We received a message from the school asking us to bring our children home," said one of the parents.

In November 2022, a similar email was received by the school. The police said that the students were then evacuated from the school premises and the threat was later found to be a hoax.

“This is not the first time the school admin received a bomb threat. Last year in November, the admin received a similar email from an unknown sender. That was a hoax email. Our teams are at the spot with Bomb Disposal Sqaud and dog squad,” said DCP (South) Chandan Chowdhary, speaking on the bomb threat.

The caller, later identified as Panayam Shivanand, alerted the tech giant’s office in Mumbai about placing an explosive device at the office of Google in Pune which prompted the city’s police and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) to take action. The next morning, the Mumbai police said that the caller from Hyderabad claimed to be in an inebriated state and was later detained while the call turned out to be a hoax.&nbsp;

“Google company's office in Maharashtra's Pune city was briefly put on alert after it received a call about a bomb in the premises which later turned out to be a hoax,” said the police, on Monday. Google's office located at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai received the call at 7:54 pm (local time) on Sunday that a bomb had been placed in the tech giant’s Pune office, said the police.&nbsp;

Subsequently, the Pune police along with the BDDS checked Google office premises which is&nbsp;in the city’s Mundhwa area on the 11th floor but nothing suspicious was found, said the officials. The caller was later traced to the Indian state Telangana’s city of Hyderabad and detained by the city’s police. According to Amol Zende, DCP (Crime) Pune, the accused made the hoax call due to a dispute with his brother who works at the Google office based in Pune.&nbsp;

“The caller has been traced to Hyderabad and apprehended. He allegedly made the call in an inebriated condition,” said the Pune police official. An investigation into the incident is underway, said the authorities. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the accused at Mumbai’s BKC police station under sections 505 (1) (b) and 506 (2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for intent to cause harm and likely to cause, fear or alarm to public and criminal intimidation respectively.&nbsp;

The fight was then diverted to Uzbekistan.&nbsp;Apart from 240 passengers, there were seven crew members on board.&nbsp;Police in India revealed that authorities at the Dabolim airport in the southern state of Goa received an email, which claimed that there was a bomb on the plane.&nbsp;

The flight is operated by the Russian airline Azur Air and is said to be offering services to destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa and Central America.&nbsp;

Reports have mentioned that the plane took off from Perm international airport, which is located at Bolshoye Savino, 16 kilometres southwest of the city of Perm in Russia. Indian officials said that it was supposed to land at the Dabolim airport in South Goa at 4.15am (IST).&nbsp;

This is the second such incident happening in the same month. On January 9, a Moscow-to-Goa flight made an emergency landing at Gujarat's Jamnagar airport. That flight also received a bomb threat and was operated by Azur Air.&nbsp;

The aircraft is under isolation bay and further investigation is underway, ANI news agency reported.

"All 244 passengers on-board Moscow-Goa chartered flight de-boarded at the airport after the aircraft landed safely at the airport at around 9.49 pm,"&nbsp;Jamnagar Airport director said in a statement.

The Russian embassy in a statement said that a thorough investigation is underway to assess the situation.

"The Embassy was alerted by the Indian authorities about the alleged bomb scare on the Azur Air flight en route from Moscow to Goa. The aircraft has made an emergency landing at Jamnagar Indian Air Force Base. Everyone on board is safe. The authorities are conducting a thorough inspection of the aircraft," it said.

Meanwhile, a&nbsp;Delhi-bound plane left the city airport without taking more than 50 passengers, who were waiting in a shuttle bus for boarding, reported PTI news agency. Aviation regulator DGCA has sought a report from the airline on the incident.

Some passengers alleged on social media that a busload of passengers were not taken onboard the Go First flight from Bengaluru to Delhi. The flight G8 116 departed at 6.40 am on Monday, leaving behind the passengers, they alleged.

"I'm not hurting nobody Joe. I'm not pulling the trigger on this thing. I can't," he said. "I'm telling you, them snipers come in, they start shooting this window out, this bomb's going off."&nbsp;

The matter is under investigation right now.
