Liverpool was lucky, says relieved Klopp
Liverpool will play Real Madrid in Kiev on May 26 as the Spanish side bid to win the Champions League for the third year in a row
Liverpool manager JuergenKlopp accepted that they got lucky against AS Roma on Wednesday and that the game could have been better.
Liverpool came into the match at the Stadio Olimpico with a 5-2 first-leg advantage after they tore Roma apart at Anfield last week.
At the news conference, Klopp says,"I have to start, and it is easy to do so, with a big compliment for Rome. What a performance, what a comeback, what a brave football game. It was clear that they take the risk they took and we punished it with the first goal in a perfect way. We scored the first goal for them by themselves, unlucky of course. A little bit of slapstick and then we scored the second one."
He also talked about what went wrong during the game.
"We had brilliant counter-attacks but we were not patient enough to finish them and because we did not do that, it was clear the game stays open and then everything can happen. We did not defend very good today, pretty much the three midfielders were pretty alone," he added.
Liverpool have looked vulnerable at the back at times this season in the Premier League, losing composure under pressure and dropping points in games they should have won comfortably.

For an overall match, he says,"So, it was the first time that we were not really as good as we can be, so we needed luck and that's what we had. But I think that over the whole Champions League campaign so far it's absolutely deserved," Klopp said.
"As I said before the game, it would have been deserved for Roma, I think for both teams it would have been crazy if we played extra time, if you go two times 15 minutes I have no clue how that would have happened, it would have been really crazy. But it was 7-6 on aggregate which sounds crazy because it is crazy," he added.
"We came in the competition as a qualifier and now we are in the final and I am really, really happy for the boys and really happy for the club and really happy for our fans. It was a fantastic ride so far. Now we will go to Kiev. It sounds crazy but it is the truth," he concluded.
