<p>The arrest comes a little over a week after the CBI raided 15 locations, including the residential premises of Ghosh. In an FIR filed against him on the direction of the Calcutta High Court, the agency alleged financial irregularities at the hospital during his tenure.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Apart from Ghosh, three Kolkata-based private entities viz., Ma Tara Traders of Madhya Jhorehat, Banipur, Howrah; Eshan Cafe of 4/1, Belgachia and Khama Louha have also been named.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to reports, the hospital&nbsp;under Ghosh was allegedly carrying out various illegal activities, that included selling dead bodies.&nbsp;RG Kar Medical College's former deputy superintendent Akhtar Ali claimed that Ghosh was carrying out the trafficking of medical supplies and biomedical waste to Bangladesh.</p>

<p>Ali also lodged&nbsp;complaints of financial irregularities on multiple counts at the establishment during Ghosh's tenure as the principal.&nbsp;</p>

The party called on PM Modi to clarify Buch's appointment as the head of the market regulator. Conflict of Interest At a press conference, Congress accused Buch of receiving income from ICICI Bank while serving as SEBI chairperson, which they argue constitutes a serious conflict of interest. The party claimed that "Between 2017-2021, as a whole time member of SEBI, the current SEBI chairperson received a salary from ICICI Bank amounting to Rs 12.63 crore ($1.5 million)". <p>The draft Bill proposes to amend the newly passed Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 laws and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 "in their application to the state of West Bengal to enhance punishment and to constitute the framework for...expeditious investigation and trial of the heinous act of violence against women and children."</p>

<p>The introduction of this bill comes as the West Bengal government has been facing widespread criticism over its handling of the recent case of the brutal rape and murder of a post-graduate trainee doctor&nbsp;at the state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.</p>

The focus should remain on genuine upliftment and support rather than being manipulated for political advantage,” he added.</p>

Stanton’s account was reported to authorities by several Indian users, including Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, and the Indian High Commission in the United Kingdom.</p>

<p>According to a 2017 report by British news website The New Statesman, the pictures on Stanton’s account were stolen from another man, a pensioner from Worcestershire.</p>

<p>Storyful’s UK Editor Kevin Donnellan followed @BarryStanton64 in an attempt to find out who he was. He then located the original Facebook page where “Barry” posted his photos.</p>

<p>It is safe to conclude that Barry Stanton is merely a fake identity that an anonymous troll uses to disseminate anti-Indian content. However, the question here is not about the user, but about the platform that allows such racist posts to flourish in the name of "free speech."</p>

<p>This is not the first time that such anti-India posts have surfaced on X. Many critics and netizens have seen these accounts sharing more racist content against Indians since Elon Musk took over X in 2022.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Earlier this month, controversial British YouTuber Miles Routledge received massive criticism after he made racist remarks targeting India on X and also threatened to use nuclear weapons against Indians if he became the PM of England.</p>

<p>India's Supreme Court on Monday (Sept 2) in response to several petitions challenging the demolitions of the homes of individuals accused of crimes, questioned the legality of such names.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Supreme Court bench, comprising justices B.R. Gavai and K.V. Viswanathan heard the bunch of petitions.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"How can a house be demolished just because he is accused? Can't be demolished even if he's a convict," Justice Gavai said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We are not for illegal constructions on road etc. But demolition of properties have to be in accordance with law," the court said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Solicitor General Tushar Mehta also told the Supreme Court that no property belonging to a person can be bulldozed merely because he or she is involved in some criminal case or convicted.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It can only be done strictly following the rules and procedure prescribed under the municipal laws," Mehta said.&nbsp;</p>

Delhi Waqf Board case: ED arrests AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan following six-hour interrogation

<p>As many as two women pilgrims were reported dead while several others sustained injuries after a landslide destroyed the new track leading to the Vaishno Devi shrine in the northern Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday (Sep 2).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Deputy Commissioner of Reasi, Vishesh Paul Mahajan said that based on&nbsp;preliminary report, two women had died while a girl was grievously injured, according to news wire agency PTI.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The incident took place near Panchi in the Reasi district at around 2:35 pm local time. Officials said a portion of an overhead iron structure was also damaged in the incident.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board is conducting relief and rescue operations with more devotees believed to be trapped under the debris.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the city of Vadodara, 24 crocodiles have been rescued from residential areas who came into the city after the water level in the Vishwamitri River rose, causing terror among locals. This happened as water was released from the Ajwa dam, which caused flooding in the region.</p>

<p>On August 27, Champai Soren announced his decision to join the BJP owing it to the welfare of tribals in the state.</p>

<p>"On August 18 itself, I had posted about the politics that happened with me in the party that I made with my blood and sweat. I came out alone from JMM as my intention was not to break the party. Sometimes I thought I would leave politics, then I thought that I would form a new organisation or if I find a partner, I would join them for the betterment of Jharkhand. We have got a good partner in the form of BJP," Soren said while speaking to ANI on Friday ahead of his joining. "We will fight for Jharkhand like before. I will work for the development of Jharkhand, to save the existence of tribals. We will develop Jharkhand," he added.</p>
