NIA conducted a thorough investigation where they collected fingerprints and palm prints of 5,000 workers working on IAC during that period and examined them. They even announced to award Rs 5 lakhs to anybody who provides lead in the case. The duo basically wanted to make money by selling these parts but could only manage Rs 10,000 after they sold an industrial hard drive on OLX. The NIA will try to recover the hard drive from the customer. The construction of INS Vikrant began on 2009 and is aimed to be completed and commissioned by 2021.

<p>The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to entertain pleas of various political parties challenging the Centre's decision not to grant 50 per cent reservation to OBCs as per Tamil Nadu law in medical seats surrendered by the state in the All India Quota for under-graduate, post-graduate and dental courses in 2020-21.</p>

<p>A bench comprising Justices L Nageswara Rao, Krishna Murari and S Ravindra Bhat asked lawyers for Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Vaiko, Anbumani Ramadoss, CPM,, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee and CPI to approach the Madras High Court with their pleas.</p>

<p>"You should withdraw this and go to the Madras High Court,"&nbsp;the bench said, adding that the liberty was granted to the political parties to do that.</p>

<p>The political parties have challenged the decision of Centre not granting 50 per cent reservation to OBC's in seats surrendered by Tamil Nadu in the All India Quota for under graduate, post graduate medical and dental courses in current academic session.</p>

<p>DMK, in its plea, had said that it was opposing the denial of implementation of 50 per cent OBC policy of the state, other than in central government institutions.</p>

<p>It said the Medical Council of India (MCI) regulations clearly contemplate adherence to state reservation laws while filling up of the seats.</p>

<p>The party said that the All India Quota seats are contributed by states surrendering seats in the government and private medical and dental colleges as per the MCI regulations.</p>

<p>DMK had sought ad-interim injunction restraining the Respondents from proceeding further with All India Counselling for PG seats pursuant to the NEET-PG 2020 results without following the 50 per cent reservation for OBC quota in Tamil Nadu pending disposal of the plea.</p>

<p>The party also sought direction for calling of the records of the Respondent pertaining to the Result of NEET-PG, 2020 published on May 9, 2020 by the National Board of Examinations relating to the filling up of the All India Quota and quashing of the same</p>

<p>The Petitioner (CPIM) is constrained to approach this court as the Respondents (Centre, MCI and others) herein have grossly failed to provide the statutory reservations for Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Backward Classes (BC) and Most Backward Classes (MBC) and anomaly in granting reservation to SC-STs students in admissions to the under-graduate and Post Graduate medical courses in all medical colleges in Tamil Nadu in the category of state surrendered seats to the All India Quota' in Government and private medical colleges other than the Central Government institutions,? the plea of CPI(M) had said.</p>

<p>Ruling AIADMK had alleged that there was no rational basis for not extending the benefit of 50 per cent reservation for OBCs, as envisaged under the State laws of Tamil Nadu, to the State-captured seats in the All India Quota.</p>

<p>The Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party said that in all past academic years since the inception of the All India Quota system, OBCs have been grossly under represented in the All-India-Quota seats in undergraduate, diploma, PG diploma and postgraduate medical colleges across the country.</p>

The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to entertain pleas of various political parties challenging the Centre's decision not to grant 50 per cent reservation to OBCs as per Tamil Nadu law in medical seats surrendered by the state in the All India Quota for under-graduate, post-graduate and dental courses in 2020-21.

A bench comprising Justices L Nageswara Rao, Krishna Murari and S Ravindra Bhat asked lawyers for Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Vaiko, Anbumani Ramadoss, CPM,, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee and CPI to approach the Madras High Court with their pleas. "You should withdraw this and go to the Madras High Court," the bench said, adding that the liberty was granted to the political parties to do that. The political parties have challenged the decision of Centre not granting 50 per cent reservation to OBC's in seats surrendered by Tamil Nadu in the All India Quota for under graduate, post graduate medical and dental courses in current academic session. DMK, in its plea, had said that it was opposing the denial of implementation of 50 per cent OBC policy of the state, other than in central government institutions. It said the Medical Council of India (MCI) regulations clearly contemplate adherence to state reservation laws while filling up of the seats. The party said that the All India Quota seats are contributed by states surrendering seats in the government and private medical and dental colleges as per the MCI regulations. DMK had sought ad-interim injunction restraining the Respondents from proceeding further with All India Counselling for PG seats pursuant to the NEET-PG 2020 results without following the 50 per cent reservation for OBC quota in Tamil Nadu pending disposal of the plea. The party also sought direction for calling of the records of the Respondent pertaining to the Result of NEET-PG, 2020 published on May 9, 2020 by the National Board of Examinations relating to the filling up of the All India Quota and quashing of the same The Petitioner (CPIM) is constrained to approach this court as the Respondents (Centre, MCI and others) herein have grossly failed to provide the statutory reservations for Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Backward Classes (BC) and Most Backward Classes (MBC) and anomaly in granting reservation to SC-STs students in admissions to the under-graduate and Post Graduate medical courses in all medical colleges in Tamil Nadu in the category of state surrendered seats to the All India Quota' in Government and private medical colleges other than the Central Government institutions,? the plea of CPI(M) had said. Ruling AIADMK had alleged that there was no rational basis for not extending the benefit of 50 per cent reservation for OBCs, as envisaged under the State laws of Tamil Nadu, to the State-captured seats in the All India Quota. The Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party said that in all past academic years since the inception of the All India Quota system, OBCs have been grossly under represented in the All-India-Quota seats in undergraduate, diploma, PG diploma and postgraduate medical colleges across the country.

<p>An Indian-origin husband-wife doctor couple have launched judicial review proceedings against the UK government over what they say is a refusal to address safety issues around personal protective equipment (PPE) for doctors and healthcare workers during the coronavirus pandemic.</p>

<p>Dr Nishant Joshi and his pregnant wife, Dr Meenal Viz, had initiated the legal action in April with a pre-action letter seeking answers from the UK's Department of Health and Social Care and Public Health England.</p>

<p>They decided to push ahead with the case in the High Court in London on Wednesday because they feel they are "no longer willing to wait".</p>

<p>"We don't want to be doing this. We didn't plan on doing this. We're doctors in a pandemic. We want to focus on saving lives and stitching this country back together," the couple said in a statement.</p>

<p>"But we have been pushed into taking action by the government's refusal to address the issues we have raised," they said.</p>

<p>Their law firm, Bindmans, said the judicial review challenge highlights the "mismatch" between the government's guidance on PPE and the guidance set out by the World Health Organisation (WHO), including in respect of when "full" PPE is required, as well as with respect to the reuse and reprocessing of PPE " which includes items such surgical gowns, face visors and gloves.</p>

<p>The doctors' case claims that the government's guidance also fails properly to warn healthcare and social care workers of the risks they face with different levels of PPE and their legal rights to refuse to work when inadequate PPE is available.</p>

<p>"As frontline doctors, Dr Viz and Dr Joshi understand the operational pressures faced by government better than most, but they, along with all other health and social care workers, remain entitled to lawful and transparent guidance on the use of PPE and the risks they are facing on the frontline of responding to this national crisis," said Jamie Potter, Partner at Bindmans LLP and solicitor for Dr Viz and Dr Joshi.</p>

<p>"Accordingly, we have today [Wednesday] filed judicial review proceedings seeking to challenge that guidance with a view to bringing into line with WHO guidance as well as human rights legislation. This is important not just in the current crisis, but also to any "second spike' or future pandemic," he said.</p>

<p>The couple highlight that a disproportionate number of the Covid-19 victims are from ethnic minority backgrounds, and the challenge also raises the government's failure properly to consider the impact on black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) health and social care workers across the state-funded National Health Service (NHS).</p>

<p>"The government have also refused to allow Dr Viz and Dr Joshi to publish their initial responses to the pre-action correspondence so that others can assess the adequacy of their approach to PPE. Our clients will push in any proceedings to ensure such documents are made public," their law firm said.</p>

<p>The couple's online crowdfunding initiative for the legal case has raised over 61,000 pounds in pledges. Viz, who is eight months pregnant, has also been leading protests outside Downing Street and last month she and her colleagues observed a 237-second silence " one second for every healthcare worker who died in the line of duty during this pandemic in the UK.</p>

<p>The Department of Health said it cannot comment on "ongoing legal proceedings" but has in the past stressed that safety factors have been taken into account with its guidance.</p>
