Bihar train accident: Nitish Kumar announces Rs 4 lakh to kin of deceased

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday ordered to provide a solatium of Rs. four lakh each to the kin of the six deceased after nine coaches of the Delhi-bound Seemanchal Express derailed in Vaishali district of Bihar. 

The CM also announced a compensation of Rs. 50,000 to the injured. 

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed anguish over the loss of lives due to the derailment of coaches of the Seemanchal Express.

''Deeply anguished by the loss of lives due to the derailment of coaches of the Seemanchal Express. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. May the injured recover quickly. Railways, NDRF, and local authorities are providing all possible assistance in the wake of the accident,'' tweeted on Sunday morning. 

The accident took place at 3:58 am at Sahadai Buzurg. 

One general coach, one AC coach B3, three sleeper coaches and four more coaches derailed, said East Central Railway spokesperson Rajesh Kumar.

At least seven people lost their lives. Bodies of the six victims have been identified while one is yet to be identified.
