As he fell, Chris Martin could be heard getting shocked, “That’s uh, not planned, thank you for catching me, so much. Thank you guys, holy sh**.”
He then thanked the person who caught him and said he had “the jitters”.
Before continuing the show, Chris confirmed he was fine.
Olivia Rodrigo also fell through stage in Melbourne
The mishap comes just three weeks after pop star Olivia Rodrigo also fell through the stage while performing at a different venue in Melbourne, the Rod Laver Arena.
She was running across the stage while performing when the mishap took place. She too was pointing to cheering fans when she ran straight into a hole in the ground and fell. The singer was luckily not injured even though she had a dramatic fall.
For Coldplay fans, the British rock band will continue their tour this week in Sydney with shows from Wednesday to Sunday at Accor Stadium.
