Tabu doesn't want to play 30-year-old on screen anymore
Tabu to next star in film with Ajay Devgn
Tabu is keen on playing her age now.
Having been in the industry for more than three decades now, Tabu has finally put her foot down on the kind of roles she wants to essay. Last seen in Crew with Kareena Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in an aviation thriller, Tabu wants to embrace her age and wants to portray roles on the screen that suit her.
Tabu happy playing her age now
In aninterview, Tabu spoke about her upcoming film Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha in which she gets to be real. Happy that the director didn’t de-age her since the film shows a couple of decades in the storyline, Tabu was most excited for the narrative that suits her mental state.
Tabu was happy that director Neeraj Panday didn’t go the route of de-aging through VFX. Tabu will be seen with Ajay Devgn in the film which will be their tenth onscreen collaboration. Tabu and Ajay look great together onscreen.

In the interview, Tabu said that she totally believes in age-appropriate casting which was the norm back in the days. She said that it is only now that older actors have started playing youngcharacters on the screen.
“Yeh sab cheezein pehle bhi toh hota tha jab de-aging ka concept nahi tha (This used to happen earlier too as there was no concept of de-aging). We saw different actors playing younger selves of the protagonists. Once they grew up, they became Dharmendra or Dilip Kumar. I think that with this film, we’re continuing that tradition,” she said.
On getting back together with Ajay, Tabu said that she stands by her statement that he is a “silent bully”.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha
About Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is billed as a romantic drama that spans across 23 years of timeline. The film is set between the years 2000 and 2023. The film is produced by Shital Bhatia, Narendra Hirawat and Kumar Mangat Pathak (Panorama Studios). The film will release on August 2.
