A new day, a new photo of Indian actress Kangana Ranaut from the Ram Mandir corridor. The Tejas actress looked like a million bucks as she beamed with pride in new pictures from Ram Mandir ahead of the Pran Pratishtha, or consecration ceremony, on Monday (Jan 22).

Kangana Ranaut stuns in white and orange saree

The actress looked visibly happy in pictures as she posed in a stunning white saree with an orange and red blouse. She completed the look with a pink and red shawl. Her orange blouse featured what looked like a swastika symbol and Lord Krishna’s image with gota on her sleeves. Her white saree was heavy on embroidery with orange lace right above the saree border.

Kangana Ranaut, who is known for her penchant for heavy-duty jewellery on most occasions, also wore an elaborate set with her white and orange saree. This time she completed the look with an emerald layered neckpiece with danglers, all of it set in white gold. She tied her hair loosely with some flyaways adorning her face.

Sharing the pictures on her Instagram account, Kangana Ranaut wrote, “Yehi janmbhumi hai param pujya Shri Ram ki… Jai Shri Ram (This is the birthplace of Lord Ram…Jai Shri Ram)”.

A new day, a new photo of Indian actress Kangana Ranaut from the Ram Mandir corridor. Kangana Ranaut stuns in white and orange saree The actress looked visibly happy in pictures as she posed in a stunning white saree with an orange and red blouse. Her white saree was heavy on embroidery with orange lace right above the saree border. Kangana Ranaut, who is known for her penchant for heavy-duty jewellery on most occasions, also wore an elaborate set with her white and orange saree.
Sarah Ferguson is dealing with an aggressive form of skin cancer. The Duchess of York has been diagnosed with malignant melanoma after the removal of a cancerous mole during the treatment for breast cancer.

Sarah recently got several moles removed and analysis done while undergoing reconstructive surgery following a mastectomy.

Even through the grim diagnosis, her spokesperson told the media that the duchess “remains in good spirits”, despite it being "distressing".

Third royal to get treated this week

Surprisingly, she is the third royal to announce a medical procedure this week. This follows medical procedures for both the King Charles and Princess of Wales Catherine.

In a statement, her spokesperson said, "Her dermatologist asked that several moles be removed and analysed at the same time as the duchess was undergoing reconstructive surgery following her mastectomy, and one of these has been identified as cancerous. She is undergoing further investigations to ensure that this has been caught in the early stages."

"The duchess wants to thank the entire medical team that has supported her, particularly her dermatologist whose vigilance ensured the illness was detected when it was. She believes her experience underlines the importance of checking the size, shape, colour and texture and emergence of new moles that can be a sign of melanoma," the statement added.

The Duchess also thanked the private medical team that supported her through the treatment.

Tips For Taking Care Of Eye Health At Home

Since you never know how much dust, dirt and bacteria your hands have at every time of the day, it's best to avoid rubbing your eyes.

Washing hands regularly keeps bacteria at bay and prevents them from causing infection and allergy.

UV blocking sunglasses delay the development of cataracts, since direct sunlight hastens their formation.

Maintain proper screen distance and room lighting while working on device

Follow 1-2-10 rule for digital devices. Mobiles should be kept at 1 feet, computer monitors about 2 feet and television at 10 feet away from the eyes and there should be sufficient but diffused lighting in the room.

Following 20-20-20 rule reduces eye strain due to the digital screen. Every 20 minutes, look at an object that is 20 feet away from you for 20 seconds. Remember to blink often.

It is necessary to get sufficient shut-eye each day to keep your eyes revitalised and healthy. Sleep rejuvenates eyes, body and mind.

It is critical to wear proper eye protection like protective glasses to prevent eye injuries during sports such as hockey, badminton, baseball also while lighting crackers and even during home projects such as home repairs, gardening, and cleaning.

A healthy diet is important to maintain good health. Vitamin deficiency can impair retinal function. Include food rich in Vitamin A like carrots, sweet potatoes, and spinach, foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids like salmon, antioxidants like avocado, and dark chocolate.

Two fans of Madonna got really upset when the pop star started her concert later than the scheduled time. Madonna was to perform in New York City but she arrived late and the show had to start at least two hours later than scheduled. They claimed that they “had to get up early to go to work” the next morning and faced issues because of the late concert.

In a lawsuit filed in Brooklyn, Madonna’s fans Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden said that they bought tickets to a December 13 show at Barclays Center as part of Madonna’s Celebration tour. The show was advertised to start at 8.30 pm, but Madonna did not take the stage until after 10.30 pm, according to the lawsuit.

The concert was over by 1 am but by that time, they were “left stranded in the middle of the night” and “confronted with limited public transportation, limited ride-sharing, and/or increased public and private transportation costs”. It also affected their schedule for the following day since they couldn’t “take care of their family responsibilities the next day”, the lawsuit alleges.

In the lawsuit, the two have accused Madonna, Barclays Center, and tour promoter Live Nation of “unconscionable, unfair, and/or deceptive trade practices” for the delayed start time.

This is not the first time that a musician has performed with a delay. Madonna herself has been slapped with lawsuits over the same reason. Once in 2019, a Florida fan filed a lawsuit after Madonna arrived late for the Madame X tour, citing a breach of contract, while in 2020, there was another lawsuit filed by two people in New York. Both lawsuits were later voluntarily dismissed.

Meanwhile, Madonna’s current Celebration tour was rescheduled from last July after the singer was hospitalised for a bacterial infection. The tour continues until its last stop in Mexico in April.

It also affected their schedule for the following day since they couldn’t “take care of their family responsibilities the next day”, the lawsuit alleges. Sophie Turner withdraws child abduction lawsuit against Joe Jonas amid divorce proceedings In the lawsuit, the two have accused Madonna, Barclays Center, and tour promoter Live Nation of “unconscionable, unfair, and/or deceptive trade practices” for the delayed start time.

They say eyes are a mirror to the soul of a person but how often do we give a thought about their wellbeing? Eye health is important for overall quality of life. Good vision leads to improved learning and comprehension and better quality of life. Healthy brain function needs healthy eyesight. We got in touch with Dr. Chetna T Nayak, Consultant Ophthalmologist with Gleneagles Hospital, Bengaluru. She gave us some tips for vision care at home.

Here are some tips suggested by her that should be part of our daily routine.

1. Avoid touching eyes frequently

Since you never know how much dust, dirt and bacteria your hands have at every time of the day, it's best to avoid rubbing your eyes. The more you rub, the itchier they become. In case of infection or irritation consult an eye specialist.

2. Practise frequent hand washing

Washing hands regularly keeps bacteria at bay and prevents them from causing infection and allergy.

3. Protect your eyes from the sun

Exposure to sunlight and UV rays increases the risk for age-related macular degeneration and may cause cornea sunburn. UV blocking sunglasses delay the development of cataracts, since direct sunlight hastens their formation. Sunglasses also protect the delicate eyelid skin by preventing both wrinkles and skin cancer around the eye

4. Maintain proper screen distance and room lighting while working on computer

Follow 1-2-10 rule for digital devices. Mobiles should be kept at 1 feet, computer monitors about 2 feet and television at 10 feet away from the eyes and there should be sufficient but diffused lighting in the room. Reflections on the screen due to bright light can cause glare and cause eye strain.

How important is a good night’s sleep for better health and productivity?

5. Follow 20-20-20 rule

Following 20-20-20 rule reduces eye strain due to the digital screen. Every 20 minutes, look at an object that is 20 feet away from you for 20 seconds. Remember to blink often. Install apps that remind you to blink like BLINK APP. You can even get out of your seat and take a small stroll which promotes good blood circulation throughout the body and keeps you from being sedentary too.

6. Get sufficient sleep

It is necessary to get sufficient shut-eye each day to keep your eyes revitalised and healthy. Sleep rejuvenates eyes, body and mind.

7. Eye protection

It is critical to wear proper eye protection like protective glasses to prevent eye injuries during sports such as hockey, badminton, baseball also while lighting crackers and even during home projects such as home repairs, gardening, and cleaning.

8. Stop smoking

Tobacco smoking is known to cause age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a disease which leads to vision loss. Smokers are also at increased risk for developing cataracts.

Glaucoma Awareness Month: Cataract vs Glaucoma - What's the difference?

9. Contact lens care

Proper contact lens care is crucial. Never sleep in contact lenses other than extended-wear contact lenses. Using saliva or water as a wetting solution, using expired solutions, and using disposable contact lenses beyond their wear can result in eye infection, redness, corneal ulcers, and even vision loss.

10. Eat a healthy diet

A healthy diet is important to maintain good health. Vitamin deficiency can impair retinal function. Include food rich in Vitamin A like carrots, sweet potatoes, and spinach, foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids like salmon, antioxidants like avocado, and dark chocolate, and foods rich in vitamin E like grains, cereals, and dry fruits like almonds. Researchers have found people on diets with these foods are less likely to develop age-related macular degeneration.

11. Stay hydrated

Sufficient fluid intake is essential for the well-being of your body, including your eyes. Maintain good hydration to prevent eyes from getting dry and irritated.

12. Use the right kind of eye make-up.

Eye shadows, mascara, and eyeliners can cause an allergic reaction in the eyes. Use the right brand that suits your eyes. Don’t forget to use a make-up remover before going to bed to avoid bacterial growth also, clean your make-up brushes regularly, especially those that you use for eye make-up application.

13. Keep your surroundings clean

Exposure to dirt and dust can irritate your eyes, so make sure that the places you frequent are well-maintained and clean. Change your linens and towels regularly and keep your workstation clutter-free.

14. Visit your eye doctor regularly

Everyone needs a regular eye examination, even young children. It helps to protect your sight and lets you see your best.

The modelling world harbours a lot of dark secrets including how models have had to starve to retain their figures, to look “chiseled” and to be able to don designer pieces without any alteration before a fashion week.
"Chiselled to the bone"

In a new interview that is now trending, she told Page Six that she had to starve to look “chiseled to the bone” at the height of her modelling career. The 71-year-old supermodel revealed that there was immense pressure to look extremely thin for photoshoots in the 1970s and 1980s. She even used cocaine, which is known to have appetite-suppressing effects.

She revealed, “Everyone used drugs back in the day but that particular drug for models was used because we did not eat." Speaking further the supermodel said that all models were “led to believe” at the time that “cocaine was not addictive.”
