An Instagram model Fan-Pei Koung has moved to Ukraine as she has become an "emotional support stripper" for soldiers engaged in the ongoing war against Russia.

While aid workers have been going to Ukraine to help those devastated by the war, a "sex tourist" is a new thing for the war-ravaged nation.

Fan-Pei Koung, who hails from Houston Texas, shared some of her images, which many would say are a bit revealing.

The image purportedly shows the model on Ukrainian soil, with weapons such as missile launchers. She even described herself as a "globe-trotting girlfriend, now volunteering in Kharkiv".

Koung is quite popular on social media and using the fame, she created an OnlyFans account which is said to be free for Ukrainian soldiers and volunteers. She even said that the occasional locals could also use some cheering up.

On the website, Koung said that she makes content about "everything from free emotional breastfeeding to soldiers and volunteers" to collecting donations to distribute to volunteers.

She spoke to The Daily Beast, where she called herself a "sex tourist" and also that she is the sexy girl in Ukraine who wants to volunteer and will probably put out.

Reports say that she abandoned her life in the US to move to Europe in 2022. She claimed that in America, she did so many things, including winning a NASA Space Health Challenge and competing in the Miss Taiwanese American pageant in 2015. She has even worked for children's events in Oakland for the last five years.

Koung reportedly travelled to Ukraine to volunteer in women's shelters and orphanages in Lviv in November 2022. Her friends had advised just against it, but she did it anyway.

The Gyanvapi mosque case has become the centre of public attention in India as the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday (July 25) began hearing a plea against a district court order directing the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to conduct a survey to determine if the mosque in Varanasi was built upon a temple.

After hearing arguments in the matter, Allahabad High Court Chief Justice Pritinker Diwaker posted it for further hearing on Wednesday.

The mosque is adjacent to the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi city of the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Hindu litigants in the district court had sought the survey to probe the claims and determine whether a temple existed at the same spot earlier.

On Friday, the ASI was ordered by the Varanasi district court to conduct a survey, except in the sealed area, using technologies like ground penetrating radar and excavations in case they were required.

The ASI team had reached the site on Monday morning, had started the work and was inside the complex when the Supreme Court issued an order to pause the survey. The order was applicable till 5:00pm (IST) Wednesday.

The order was passed by the court while hearing a petition filed by the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee (AIMC), the caretaker of the Gyanvapi mosque.

Subhash Nandan Chaturvedi, who is one of the counsels of the Hindu petitioners in the legal dispute, said the survey work lasted for about four hours before it was stopped.

He said that to carry out a detailed inspection, the entire premises was inspected and measured and four teams were deployed at the four corners.

Chaturvedi further added that the survey proceedings have been recorded by installing four cameras at the four corners of the mosque.

He said that the stones and bricks on the premises were also inspected.

He added, "We are sure that the entire complex belongs to the temple and the result of the survey will be in our favour."

Vishnu Shankar Jain, another counsel representing the petitioners, said, "We will go to the high court and argue on this issue within two days. Chief Justice Pritinker Diwaker heard the matter and posted it for further hearing on Wednesday.

Gyanvapi mosque management moves Allahabad high court against ASI survey

The US Forest Service's own prescribed burn started a sprawling 2022 wildfire that nearly reached Los Alamos, New Mexico, the agency acknowledged on Monday in a report published after a lengthy investigation.

The Cerro Pelado fire burned in dry, windy conditions across more than 60 square miles (155 square kilometres) and crept within a few miles of the city of Los Alamos and its companion US national security lab. As the fire approached, schools closed and evacuation bags were packed before the flames tapered off.

Investigators traced the wildfire to a burn of piles of forest debris commissioned by the Forest Service. The burn became a holdover fire, smouldering undetected under wet snow, with no signs of smoke or heat for months, said Southwestern Regional Forester Michiko Martin.

The revelation prompted immediate rebukes against the Forest Service by New Mexico political leaders, including Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. She said she was "outraged over the US Forest Service's negligence that caused this destruction".

Episodes of extremely hot and dry weather in recent years have triggered concerns about prescribed burns as techniques for clearing forest debris, concerns that Grisham echoed.

The federal government already has acknowledged that it started the largest wildfire in state history, which charged more than 530 square miles (1,373 square kilometres) of the Rocky Mountain foothills east of Santa Fe, New Mexico, destroying homes and livelihoods.

The Forest Service last spring halted all prescribed burn operations for 90 days while it conducted a review of procedures and policies. By the end of the moratorium, managers learned that they can't rely on past success, and must continuously learn and adapt to changing conditions, Forest Service Chief Randy Moore recently told New Mexico lawmakers.

Firefighters now monitor pile burns using handheld thermal devices and drones that can detect heat, Martin said Monday.

Examples of prescribed burns that escaped control include the 2000 Cerro Grande Fire that swept through residential areas of Los Alamos and across 12 square miles (31 square kilometres) of the laboratory — more than one-quarter of the campus. The fire destroyed more than 230 homes and 45 structures at the lab. In 2011, a larger and faster-moving fire burned the fringes of the lab.

In the spring of 2022, wildfires were propelled by ferocious winds across Arizona and New Mexico, combined with extreme drought and warm temperatures, casting a pall of smoke across the region.

US Sen. Martin Heinrich urged the Forest Service to be more nimble in its investigations and decisions.

"The warming climate is making our forests more vulnerable to catastrophic wildfires. That's a reality that our Forest Service can and must urgently respond to when deciding when and how to do prescribed burns," he said in a statement.

"We cannot catch up to this reality if it takes nearly a year to even make the findings on the Cerro Pelado Fire public."

An initial probe into the origin of the Cerro Pelado fire was conducted by a wildland fire investigator from Washington state's Department of Natural Resources and pointed toward an ash pit from the earlier prescribed burn as the likely source, while ruling out other potential sources such as campfires and lightning. But it stopped short of a definitive conclusion.

The Forest Service commissioned a second investigation by its own special agents and concluded that the prescribed burn and its windblown embers were the cause.

The Biden administration is trying to confront worsening wildfires in the US West through a multi-billion dollar cleanup of forests choked with dead trees and undergrowth. Chainsaws, heavy machinery, and controlled burns, are major components of the effort, with Congress in the last two years approving more than USD 4 billion in new funding to prevent repeats of destructive infernos.

US Forest Service burn started wildfire that nearly reached Los Alamos, New Mexico

China urged fishing boats to seek shelter and farmers to speed up their harvest while Taiwan suspended annual military drills as super typhoon Doksuri spiralled closer to East Asia, potentially reaching deep into China.

Doksuri will likely be the most powerful typhoon to land in China so far in the storm season this year. China narrowly escaped from Typhoon Mawar, one of the strongest tropical cyclones on record for the month of May, which was headed for China but later swung north towards Japan before dissipating.

Nearly 1,000 km (620 miles) in diameter, Doksuri is expected to sweep past lightly populated islands off the northern tip of the Philippines by mid-week while fierce winds and heavy rain lash Taiwan to the north.

Philippine authorities have already raised storm warning levels in the capital region and dozens of northern provinces, and have begun evacuating some coastal communities in the path of the storm.

Currently packing top wind speeds of 138 miles per hour (223 kph), Doksuri will make landfall on the Chinese mainland somewhere between Fujian and Guangdong provinces on Friday, China's National Meteorological Center said on Tuesday.

While Doksuri is expected to lose some power and land as either a typhoon or severe typhoon, it will still hammer densely populated Chinese cities with torrential rain and strong winds.

Fujian has ordered all offshore fishing boats to find refuge at the nearest port by Wednesday noon and told farmers to harvest their rice and other crops that have matured.

Concerned about autumn grain crops, China's ministry of agriculture and rural affairs warned on Monday that Doksuri could go deep inland after landing, affecting high-stalk crops such as corn and even rice in rural areas.

After the storm has passed, plots without broken stalks should be straightened quickly and waterlogged fields should be drained in time, with fast-acting fertilisers applied to hasten the recovery of plants, the ministry said.

Some drills cancelled

Taiwan cancelled some of its annual military drills on Tuesday for safety reasons as authorities stepped up preparations for what they say could be the most damaging typhoon to hit the island in nearly four years.

It was not immediately clear how the typhoon could further impact the five-day "Han Kuang" exercise, set to take place throughout the island this week with a focus on defending the island's main international airport and how to keep sea lanes open in the event of a Chinese blockade.

Beijing has never renounced using force to bring the democratically governed island under its control. Taiwan rejects Beijing's sovereignty claims and has vowed to defend its freedom and democracy.

Taiwan's weather bureau issued sea and land warnings for southern Pingtun county and urged communities to brace for heavy rains and strong winds.

In the southern port city of Kaohsiung, authorities were rushing to collect hundreds of containers drifting in the sea after container ship Angel sank off Taiwan's southwestern coast last week.

"Taiwan has not seen any typhoon making landfall in more than 1,400 days, and that's why I urge all government ministries that they must gear up and make preparations," Premier Chen Chien-jen said in a post on Facebook.

"I'd like to remind citizens not to underestimate typhoon threats."

China and Taiwan brace for year's most powerful typhoon Doksuri as it spirals closer; issue alerts

China again emerged to be at the centre of the Russia-Ukraine war as a report by POLITICO claimed that Beijing secretly sent gear to Russia, enough to equip an army.

The report mentioned that a tall Caucasian man was seen inspecting body armour in pictures posted on the Chinese company's website.

Shanghai H Win, a manufacturer of military-grade protective gear, said on the official website in March that "this spring, one of our customers came to our company to confirm the style and quantity of bulletproof vests, and carefully tested the quality of our vests."

The manufacturer of military-grade protective gear wrote on its website that the customer "immediately directly confirmed the order quantity of bulletproof vests and subsequent purchase intention".

The report by POLITICO has a photo featuring two men, but the identity of the smiling customer isn't known. However, citing the customs records obtained, the report says that there's a fair chance he was Russian.

The records apparently mentioned Russian buyers, who have declared orders for hundreds of thousands of bulletproof vests and helmets made by Shanghai H Win.

This report came weeks after it emerged that a Russian mercenary group received tens of thousands of protective helmets from China late last year.

In May, The Financial Times reported about the period of time when Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin was apparently raising a massive prisoner army to attack Ukraine.

China's peace plan to end war

The report also contradicts the 12-point peace plan presented by China. Earlier this year, Beijing came up with a so-called political solution in Ukraine.

China said that it hopes to play a constructive role in resolving the geopolitical tensions between Russia and Ukraine with the announcement of the peace plan in the form of a 12-point foreign ministry paper for a gradual de-escalation between the warring nations.

The move was vastly welcomed by the Western nations despite growing speculations that Beijing is mulling over sending "lethal aid" to Moscow for the Ukraine war.

A few days back, French President Emmanuel Macron's top diplomatic adviser said China was delivering items that could be used as military equipment to Russia, although not on a massive scale.

Asked at the Aspen Security Forum last week on Thursday if the West had seen any evidence that China has armed Russia in any way in the war in Ukraine, Emmanuel Bonne told the moderator: "Yes, there are indications that they are doing things we would prefer them not to do."

News agency Reuters reported that Bonne is the head of Macron's diplomatic team at the Elysee Palace.

When pressed on whether China was delivering weapons, Bonne said: "Well, kind of military equipment ... as far as we know they are not delivering massively military capacities to Russia but (we need that to be) no delivery."

China again emerged to be at the centre of the Russia-Ukraine war as a report by POLITICO claimed that Beijing secretly sent gear to Russia, enough to equip an army.

Shanghai H Win, a manufacturer of military-grade protective gear, said on the official website in March that "this spring, one of our customers came to our company to confirm the style and quantity of bulletproof vests, and carefully tested the quality of our vests." The manufacturer of military-grade protective gear wrote on its website that the customer "immediately directly confirmed the order quantity of bulletproof vests and subsequent purchase intention". The report by POLITICO has a photo featuring two men, but the identity of the smiling customer isn't known. However, citing the customs records obtained, the report says that there's a fair chance he was Russian. Also read: Russia strikes Kyiv for sixth time in a month after Ukrainian drones hit near its defence HQ The records apparently mentioned Russian buyers, who have declared orders for hundreds of thousands of bulletproof vests and helmets made by Shanghai H Win. This report came weeks after it emerged that a Russian mercenary group received tens of thousands of protective helmets from China late last year. In May, The Financial Times reported about the period of time when Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin was apparently raising a massive prisoner army to attack Ukraine. Image shown in POLITICO. China's peace plan to end war The report also contradicts the 12-point peace plan presented by China. Jazmin Paez, an 18-year-old woman, has been accused of trying to hire a hitman to kill her three-year-old son this week. Local reports have said that she has bonded out of jail.

Media reports have said the court documents showed Paez has been charged with first-degree solicitation of murder and third-degree using a communications device for unlawful use.

Paez reportedly solicited a killer through a fake website - http://RentAHitman.com. It is said that the site was apparently for fun and also to find those looking to hire a killer.

Paez filled out an online form explaining she wanted a hitman "to get something done once and for all” and the work should be completed by Thursday.

Local reports have claimed that she agreed to pay $3,000 to kill her son. Robert Innes, who is the owner of the website, tipped off the Miami Dade Police.

Some reports said that the police didn't believe him and blew him off as they thought that no one can be that stupid. However, they took action against the woman after verifying the credibility of the information provided on the website.

After investigating the matter, authorities arrested Paez Tuesday night.

She appeared before a Miami-Dade County judge on Wednesday after she was arrested on Tuesday. She posted a bond of $15,000 and was later released from jail.

A report by CNN mentioned that the mother allegedly told police she was in a romantic relationship with an individual, and the person apparently didn't like the fact that she had a son and had broken up with Paez.

An 18-year-old mom tries to hire hitman to kill her 3-year-old son, arrested

Britain's ruling Conservatives on Friday (July 21) won former prime minister Boris Johnson's old seat of Uxbridge and South Ruislip as Rishi Sunak avoided a wipe-out for his party in the by-elections seen as a test for his premiership. The vote was a result of the former PM standing down as an MP last month.

The by-election came amid public anger over a range of issues, with the expansion of a tax on polluting vehicles among them.

Sunak was all set for a triple blow after voters went to the polls in three constituencies currently held by his party on Thursday.

However, winning Johnson's former seat of Uxbridge and South Ruislip by 13,965 votes to 13,470 came as an unexpected boost for Sunak. It delivered a blow to Labour leader Keir Starmer and London's Labour mayor Sadiq Khan.

Victorious candidate Steve Tuckwell said, "The recognition that Boris Johnson is not on the ballot paper has been very clear."

"What we have had is people asking what will be the impact of the ULEZ," he said, referring to London Mayor Sadiq Khan's pollution tax.

Labour's historic result

Labour achieved a historic result by winning Selby and Ainsty despite the Tories having a majority of more than 20,000 votes. The party said overturning the majority of 20,137 from the last general election marks the biggest majority the party has overturned at a by-election since World War II.

The Conservatives also suffered a crushing defeat in the seat of Somerton and Frome, where their 19,000 majority turned into a 11,000 deficit as the Liberal Democrats won by 21,187 to 10,179.

Lib Dem winner Sarah Dyke hailed a "stunning and historic victory" during her speech. She took aim at the "woeful government".

"We have been let down and taken for granted. This government is too busy being a circus of chaos — enough is enough," she said.

Starmer said that "this is a historic result" after the Selby and Ainsty victory.

Starmer said, "This is a historic result that shows that people are looking at Labour and seeing a changed party that is focused entirely on the priorities of working people with an ambitious, practical plan to deliver."

"Keir Mather will be a fantastic MP who will deliver the fresh start Selby and Ainsty deserve," he added.

"It is clear just how powerful the demand for change is. Voters put their trust in us – many for the first time. After 13 years of Tory chaos, only Labour can give the country its hope, its optimism and its future back," he further said.

The Belarusian defence ministry said on Thursday that the Wagner mercenaries had started to train Belarusian special forces at a military range just a few miles from the border with NATO member Poland.

Analysts have previously noted that any attack on a NATO member will be retaliated by the alliance as it is founded on the principle of collective defence, meaning that if one NATO ally is attacked, then all NATO allies are deemed to have been attacked.

They will attempt peace talks but if diplomatic efforts fail, it has the military power to undertake crisis-management operations.

Zbigniew Hoffmann told PAP: "Training or joint exercises of the Belarusian army and the Wagner Group is undoubtedly a provocation."

"The Committee analysed possible threats, such as the dislocation of Wagner Group units. Therefore, the Minister of National Defense, chairman of the Committee, Mariusz Blaszczak, decided to move our military formations from the west to the east of Poland," Hoffmann added.

Ukraine claimed on Friday (July 20) that the Russian missiles hit grain terminals of an agricultural enterprise in the southern Odesa region. The regional governor said that the strikes injured two people.

He said on the Telegram messaging app, "Unfortunately, the grain terminals of an agricultural enterprise in the Odesa region were hit. The enemy destroyed 100 tons of peas and 20 tons of barley."

The strike came as Russia's attack on the southern port city for the fourth consecutive night.

Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa regional military administration said in a Telegram post Friday that the attacks were carried out with Kalibr missiles fired from the Black Sea.

Concerns have been raising over global food security after Russia suspended its participation in the Black Sea grain export deal.

This emerged as a massive food security threat amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, which has already pushed the world into crisis.

Officials said that one person was killed in strikes on Thursday.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday that Russia had already launched nearly 70 missiles into Ukraine this week.

Zelensky said that almost 90 Iranian-made 'Shahed' drones were loitering munitions.

The series of drone attacks on southern and eastern Ukraine came after the attacks on a bridge linking Russia to the Crimean Peninsula on Monday (July 17). Russia had said that it will retaliate.

The enemy destroyed 100 tons of peas and 20 tons of barley." The strike came as Russia's attack on the southern port city for the fourth consecutive night. Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa regional military administration said in a Telegram post Friday that the attacks were carried out with Kalibr missiles fired from the Black Sea. Ukraine says Russian missiles strike Odesa grain warehouses

Karl Stanley, who was a one-time passenger of the Titan submersible that imploded last month near the wreck of the Titanic, blamed OceanGate's CEO, Stockton Rush, for the terrible accident.

Stanley, a friend of Rush, said that the CEO created a "mousetrap for billionaires". In an interview with 60 Minutes Australia on Sunday, Stanley said that he'd warned his friend that the carbon fibre and titanium craft was dangerous.

Stanley said, "He knew it would end like this. He literally and figuratively went out with the biggest bang in human history that you can go out with. He was the last person to murder two billionaires at once and have them pay for the privilege."

Stanley added, "I think Stockton was designing a mousetrap for billionaires."

When asked if Rush had a "death wish," Stanley replied that the "only question is, 'When?' He was risking his life and his customers' lives to go down in history. He's more famous now than anything else he would've done."

During the interview that aired on Monday, Stanley asked, "He quite literally and figuratively went out with the biggest bang in human history that you could go out with, and who was the last person to murder two billionaires at once, and have them pay for the privilege?"

On being asked about what could have gone wrong with the Titan sub, Stanley said: "There's no doubt in my mind that it was the carbon fibre tube that was the mechanical part that failed."

The Titan submersible imploded, killing all five on board when it was on a voyage to see the century-old wreck of the Titanic earlier this month. The company's CEO, Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood, Hamish Harding, and Paul-Henri Nargeolet were among those who lost their lives.

Concerns over such expeditions

The submersible accident raised questions about the unregulated nature of such expeditions as experts across the world asked why private parties ignore safety checks during risky adventure trips.

Reports also mentioned that the company had not got a safety audit committed by a third party. Some experts have highlighted that the scope of survival was low even if a small thing went wrong.

In the past week, Canadian and US authorities have also announced investigations into the incident.
