<p>For a terminally ill 11-year-old boy named Kori, Hollywood star Johnny Depp turned into a Santa and fulfilled his wish, days before Christmas. The actor dressed as his iconic character&nbsp;Captain Jack Sparrow and sent a beautiful, heartfelt message to his superfan, who has undergone two unsuccessful heart transplants but decided he did not want to face the ordeal of a third.</p>

<p>The doctors and his family, who hails from Derbyshire, do not know how long he will live. And, when Depp got to know about the same, he decided to do his best to one of Kori's last wishes, which was to speak to his idol Captain Jack Sparrow. The actor's response has won hearts across the internet.</p>

<p>Kori, who recently set up a YouTube channel called&nbsp;'Kraken the Box', shared a clip of&nbsp;Depp in his famous pirate gear.&nbsp;The video showed the actor sending a special message to Kori.</p>

Charlotte Brandstrom, Sanaa Hamri, and Louise Hooper have been roped in to direct the&nbsp;series.&nbsp;Brandstrom has previously helmed&nbsp;two episodes of season 1 of the web series, while Hamri and Hooper are new to the franchise. Other than directing four episodes of season 2,&nbsp;Brandstrom will also serve as the series' co-executive producer.</p>

<p>The Swedish-French film director has taken over the lead director position from British filmmaker Wayne Che Yip, who directed four episodes, including the finale, in season 1 and also served as co-executive producer.&nbsp;</p>

'The Lord of the Rings: The Ring of Power' gets an all-female directing team for season 2

<p>Rapper Megan Thee Stallion's ex-best friend Kelsey Nicole Harris, who is a&nbsp;key witness in the Tory Lanez trial,&nbsp;was called to the stand by the prosecution on Wednesday.&nbsp;Surprisingly, Kelsey didn't&nbsp;seem to remember much about the night in question.&nbsp;She was the other woman in the car when Tory Lanez allegedly shot Megan.</p>

<p>She&nbsp;immediately asked for immunity in the case and despite receiving it for her testimony, she&nbsp;proved to be an incredibly difficult witness during&nbsp;the examination. She attempted to invoke her 5th Amendment rights multiple times and often asked the judge if she had to answer certain questions. When she did actually talk, she seemed hesitant to reply.</p>

<p>However, she did denounce the defence’s argument, under oath, that she shot Megan, calling the accusation "ridiculous".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Echoing Megan’s statements during her testimony, Kelsey said, "I don’t want to be here today. It’s a triggering situation. I just don’t want to be here."&nbsp;She then blamed "anxiety, post-partum, a death in the family…[and a] sick baby"&nbsp;as reasons why she was not mentally present in the courtroom.</p>

<p>Back in September, Kelsey did testify that Tory threatened to shoot her (Kelsey), but this time on the stand, she backtracked and said that sworn statements she'd given to the investigators in the lead-up to this trial weren't entirely truthful.</p>

<p>While prosecutors wanted her to point the finger at Tory, Kelsey didn't do so and it could have a disastrous impact on the prosecution’s case.</p>

<p>Kelsey is due back in court on Thursday to complete her testimony.</p>

Surprisingly, Kelsey didn't seem to remember much about the night in question. She was the other woman in the car when Tory Lanez allegedly shot Megan. She immediately asked for immunity in the case and despite receiving it for her testimony, she proved to be an incredibly difficult witness during the examination. She attempted to invoke her 5th Amendment rights multiple times and often asked the judge if she had to answer certain questions. When she did actually talk, she seemed hesitant to reply. However, she did denounce the defence’s argument, under oath, that she shot Megan, calling the accusation "ridiculous". Echoing Megan’s statements during her testimony, Kelsey said, "I don’t want to be here today. It’s a triggering situation. I just don’t want to be here." She then blamed "anxiety, post-partum, a death in the family…[and a] sick baby" as reasons why she was not mentally present in the courtroom. Back in September, Kelsey did testify that Tory threatened to shoot her (Kelsey), but this time on the stand, she backtracked and said that sworn statements she'd given to the investigators in the lead-up to this trial weren't entirely truthful. While prosecutors wanted her to point the finger at Tory, Kelsey didn't do so and it could have a disastrous impact on the prosecution’s case. <p>After failing to reach a verdict over a span of nine&nbsp;days, the jurors in Harvey Weinstein's sexual assault trial&nbsp;will resume deliberations next week on Monday.&nbsp;The deliberations began on December 2 and till now, the 12-person jury has since discussed the case for about 37 hours in total.</p>

<p>On Wednesday, the jurors asked to have a few testimonies read back to them, indicating that they are still sifting through the witnesses' allegations. Since the courtroom will be closed on Thursday and Friday, the testimonies are expected to be read on&nbsp;Monday.</p>

<p>Through the course of the deliberations, the jury asked one question. Judge Lisa B. Lench, however, has opted not to reveal the question&nbsp;to the media. It's difficult to decipher why the jury is taking so long to deliver the verdict since not a lot of information is out in public.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The court is aware that there have been inquiries from the press regarding the contents of juror questions sent to the court," the judge said in a minute order Wednesday. "The contents of the communications reveal the deliberative process of the currently-deliberating jury. As such, the court believes it would be inappropriate to release to the press the contents of the communications prior to the discharge of the jury as it would impinge on the deliberative processes of the jury."</p>

<p>In addition to the 23-year sentence he is already serving on his conviction in New York, Weinstein is facing seven charges of sexual assault, stemming from four victims. If found guilty, he could face up to 60 years to life in prison.</p>

<p>The 12-person jury, who&nbsp;is made up of three women &amp; nine men, must reach a unanimous decision on each of the seven charges to indict Weinstein.</p>

<p>Jewellery designer Alex Moss shared a video of the gorgeous piece on Instagram and wrote,&nbsp;"New piece titled 'Previous Engagements' for all the times he thought about it but never did it. 42 engagement rings, 351.38 carats in diamonds."</p>

<p>According to the Instagram post, creating the necklace was "an expedition spanning 14 months" with every diamond hand selected, inspected to only suit perfection.</p>

<p>This monumental art piece is made in 18k white gold and each diamond is over 8 carats.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Hollywood star Kate Winslet, who shot to fame with&nbsp;her role as Rose in James Cameron's 1997 evergreen classic 'Titanic', recently spoke to a publication and revealed that her three kids forced her to join the cast of 'Avatar: The Way of Water'.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Winslet, who doesn't normally involve her children in her career decisions, decided to listen to her sons Bear and Joe and daughter Mia, and take up the challenging role.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I was just super happy to jump [into the world of Avatar] and very excited to be asked," Winslet told people.&nbsp;"He called me and described the role and I thought, 'My God, that sounds amazing.' And my kids were like, 'Oh my God, mom, you have to do it.' I was like, 'Obviously.' I said, 'Well, they're going to send the script.' They were like, 'No, it doesn't matter. Just you have to do it!'"</p>

<p>By signing up for the role in the highly-anticipated sequel, the Oscar-winning actress also got to reunite with her 'Titanic' director, who she adores a lot. "We've totally kept in touch over the years. He's very good at Christmas and birthday presents," Winslet says of Cameron. "He always remembers. He's amazing."</p>

<p>Revealing how she mastered the art&nbsp;of holding her breath underwater, she said, "I have a lot more interest in breath work now for sure. And it is very calming. But I certainly do [still use it]. If we are on vacation, for example, and one of the kids will say, 'Oh, I'm going to dive down and get that shell.' I will say, 'Okay, not too deep please.' I know how deep they could safely go before they need to come back up and take a sequence of specific breaths on the surface to not get that kind of slightly stars-in-the-air blackout feeling because that's when actually people run into trouble when they surface [too quickly]."</p>

<p>She continued, "There's a breathing sequence and I make them do it now. I surfaced from [holding my breath] for seven minutes and 15 seconds. I was trained so well and I had all the safety in place and really respected the process. You can't muck around with it. And it isn't something you can just do at home. And you must do it with another person there. So it was just amazing, honestly. It really was an extraordinary thing to learn."</p>

<p>'Avatar: The Way of Water' will release in theatres on December 16.</p>

<p>Hollywood star Sam Smith gave a powerful performance at the White House on Tuesday as US President Joe Biden passed the historic Respect for Marriage Act, which protects interracial and same-sex marriages across the country.&nbsp;Now, with the passing of the new law, same-sex and interracial married couples will have the same rights as legally married couples in all 50 US states.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Before the signing of the federal law, the four-time Grammy Award-winning artist gave a rendition of 'Stay With Me' at the South Lawn of the US presidential residence.&nbsp;</p>

<p>LGBTQ+ advocate Cyndi Lauper also sang her iconic hit 'True Colors' at the heartfelt ceremony and marked the special occasion. Lauper also gave a speech to commemorate the signing of the Respect for Marriage Act.</p>

<p>"I came here because I wanted to say thank you to President Biden, Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi, Vice President [Kamala] Harris and all the advocates on his team. For once, our families — mine and a lot of my friends and people you know, sometimes your neighbours - we can rest easy tonight because our families are validated," she said.</p>

<p>"Now, we’re allowed to love who we love, which sounds odd to say, but Americans can now love who we love. Bless Joe Biden and all the people that worked on this for allowing people not to worry and their children not to worry about their future," Lauper added.</p>

Lauper also gave a speech to commemorate the signing of the Respect for Marriage Act. <p>Hollywood star Kate Hudson, who played pivotal roles in 'Fool's Gold', 'Bride Wars' and 'Good People' among others, is all set to add another golden feather to her already decorated hat. The actress is venturing into the world of&nbsp;music and is all set to drop&nbsp;her debut album next year.</p>

<p>On the latest episode of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon', Hudson revealed that she's been a songwriter since she was 19, but "never shared" her work. And, during the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, she was determined to live her life with no regrets. So, she decided to put her work out, without worrying about the reaction she might get from the audience.</p>

<p>"You know, I had this thing (during) COVID.&nbsp;Every time you're doing interviews, people are like, 'Do you have any regrets?' I go, 'I'm in early 40s... not yet.' But during COVID, I was like, 'You know, what am I doing?'," she explained.</p>

<p>"I just thought that would be one of my great regrets. I have no expectations," she said while talking about her forthcoming project. "I just want to put a record out, and so I'm doing it. And I'm really proud of it. I can't wait."</p>

<p>Hudson also confirmed during the episode that her album will release "next year".</p>

"Finally realised it's time to say f***! it and saaaannngg!!!!! #albumincoming #myikigai," Hudson wrote in the post's caption, seemingly referring to music as her "ikigai".&nbsp;</p>

<p>'Ikigai' is a Japanese word which means finding a sense of purpose or a reason to jump out of bed every morning. It is a holistic exercise advocated in the Japanese culture which allows a person to identify and move towards their passion in a structured approach.<br />

<p>To put an end to all the rumours surrounding her exit from the much-awaited project 'Wonder Woman 3', filmmaker Patty Jenkins has finally broken her silence and has shared a statement on Twitter. Last week, it was first reported that Jenkins' iteration of 'Wonder Woman 3' isn't moving forward. A day later, some publications claimed that she walked away from the project after a dispute over notes with Warner Bros.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Seeing the inaccuracies being reported online, the filmmaker came forward to state the facts. Addressing her separation from the sequel of the 2020 film 'Wonder Woman 1984', Jenkins said, "Sigh…I’m not one to take about private career matters, but I will not allow inaccuracies to continue. Here are the facts."</p>

<p>She added, "When there started being backlash about WW3 not happening, the attractive clickbait false story that it was me that killed it or walked away started to spread. This is simply not true. I never walked away. I was open to considering anything asked of me. It was my understanding that there was nothing I could do to move anything forward at this time. DC is obviously buried in changes they are having to make, so I understand these decisions are difficult right now."</p>

<p>The 51-year-old continued, "I do not want what has been a beautiful journey with WW to land on a negative note. I have loved and been so honoured to be the person who got to make these last two Wonder Woman films. She is an incredible character. Living in and around her values makes one a better person every day. I wish her and her legacy an amazing future ahead, with or without me."</p>

<p>Speaking about Gadot, Jenkins added, "There are no words I can use to convey how magical she is. She is the walking embodiment of Wonder Woman in real life and a better person than the world can imagine. Never once in the millions of moments I have spent with her did I see anything less. She is a gift to this world, and even more so, to me."</p>

<p>To conclude the statement, she thanked the fans who gave their love to the 'Wonder Woman' franchise.</p>
