'Message to world': White House shares pictures of deportation flights after Trump administration arrests 500 illegal immigrants

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday (Jan 24) said that Israel will not complete its full withdrawal from southern Lebanon by Sunday, which marks the 60-day deadline set under the ceasefire deal in November.&nbsp;
This comes after the Israeli security cabinet held a meeting last night and got an overview of the situation.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky lashed out at Russia and said Ukrainian allies should clamp down on sanctions to stop Moscow from producing arms.
"There must be accountability for every component for the production of Shaheds and missiles that are supplied in violation of sanctions," he said in a statement on social media.
The attack outside Kyiv came as Russian authorities said they repelled a Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow.
The Russian defence ministry said its air defence systems had shot down 121 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over Moscow, the occupied Crimean peninsula, and also the western Bryansk region.

According to sources cited by Reuters, Meta has now initiated an emergency procedure to troubleshoot the urgent problem.
Responding to the error, Daniel Roberts, a spokesperson for Meta, said: "Everyone knows the President of the United States is Donald Trump. All generative AI systems sometimes return outdated results, and we will continue to improve our features.&rdquo;
It was not clear what kind of emergency measures was Meta taking in order to fix this problem.

Musk&rsquo;s satirical post comes after the Tesla boss sparked a massive controversy on January 20 by raising his right arm in the air while thanking Trump&rsquo;s supporters.

‘Algorithm sucks,’ Musk says he will ‘lose his mind’ over ‘Nazi salute’ posts on his X feed

US President Donald Trump said on Thursday he wanted to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin as soon as possible to secure an end to the war with Ukraine and expressed a desire to work towards cutting nuclear arms.
In the run-up to his Nov. 5 election victory, Trump declared many times that he would have a deal in place between Ukraine and Russia on his first day in office, if not before. His advisers now concede the war will take months to resolve.
"I really would like to be able to meet with President Putin soon to get that war ended," Trump, who returned to the White House on Monday, told the World Economic Forum in Davos via video link.
"And that's not from the standpoint of economy or anything else. It's from the standpoint of millions of lives are being wasted ... It's a carnage. And we really have to stop that war."
Speaking at the White House later in the day, Trump told reporters he was ready to meet with Putin as soon as possible to end what he called a ridiculous war.
"From what I hear, Putin would like to see me, and we'll leave as soon as we can. I'd meet immediately," Trump said. "Everyday we don't meet, soldiers are being killed in the battlefield."
Trump added that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy had told him he was ready to make a deal to end the war.
Trump told participants in Davos that U.S. efforts to secure a peace settlement were now hopefully under way, but gave no details. Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.

According to AFP, the legislation stipulates that healthcare providers must offer the same level of medical care to infants born alive during an abortion as they would a baby during a typical delivery. Non-compliance with the bill carries fines and jail time of up to five years. &nbsp;

<h2>Why are Democrats opposing the bill?</h2>
On Thursday, only two Democrats crossed party lines to support the bill's passage in the House.&nbsp;
Democrats have consistently dismissed such bills as "gimmick" and redundant because in the US it is already illegal for healthcare workers to kill or neglect a newborn. They argue that such legislations are only meant to intimidate reproductive healthcare workers into complying with the Republican anti-abortion agenda.
Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin dismissed the bill, emphasising that existing laws already guarantee medical care for all newborns.&nbsp;
"The goal of this bill is to target and intimidate reproductive health care providers and make it harder for women to access vital health care," he said.

Trump further told economic leaders that they will have to pay tariffs if their products aren't made in the US.
"If you don&rsquo;t make your product in America, which is your prerogative, then very simply, you will have to pay a tariff&mdash;differing amounts, but a tariff," he said.
"Under Trump administration, there will be no better place on earth to create jobs, build factories, or grow a company than right here in the good old USA."
Trump has said earlier that he might impose tariffs of 25% on products from Canada and Mexico and 10% on goods from China.
<h2>US trade deficit and surplus with the EU</h2>
The United States is the largest market for EU exports, with machinery and vehicles accounting for the biggest trade deficit. In 2023, this gap amounted to &euro;102 billion ($106 billion). On the other hand, the US has a surplus in energy trade with the EU, valued at &euro;70 billion, along with a substantial surplus in services.
<h2>&lsquo;NATO members should raise defence spending to 5% of GDP&rsquo;</h2>
Trump further said that he is going to ask NATO members to increase their defence spending. &ldquo;I&rsquo;m also going to ask all NATO nations to increase defence spending to 5% of gross domestic product, which is what it should have been years ago,&rdquo; Trump said, repeating his old remarks. Defence ministers of several major US allies in Europe recently said that a contribution of 5% of GDP per country is unrealistic.
