Wickremesinghe rushed from jail to hospital | 'Stable but under observation'
Former Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe has been transferred to Colombo National Hospital after suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes-related complications in prison. The 76-year-old leader was arrested on charges of misusing LKR 16.6 million of public funds for a private visit to the UK in 2023. He was denied bail by the Colombo Magistrate Court and sent to Magazine Prison before being moved to the prison hospital and now to the National Hospital.
