Why is the Yamuna water level rising dangerously without rain in Delhi?

Heavy rains in the hills are threatening to raise Yamuna's water level past the danger mark. This is despite Delhi seeing no unusual rainfall in the recent days. Yamuna’s latest recorded water level was 205.39 metres which is above the warning mark of 204.50 metres.
