The United States has warned Russia against sharing sensitive intelligence with Iran that could help Tehran target American forces or assets in the region. U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff said Washington had strongly communicated its concerns to Moscow amid reports that Russia may have passed targeting information to Iran.
According to Witkoff, Russian officials told Donald Trump during a recent call that Moscow was not sharing intelligence about U.S. military assets with Iran. However, Washington indicated it would be deeply concerned if such cooperation were taking place.
