Iran has confirmed the deaths of top security official Ali Larijani and IRGC Basij commander Gholamreza Soleimani, marking a major escalation in the ongoing conflict.
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council confirmed Larijani’s death, while state media also confirmed the killing of Soleimani, who headed the Basij paramilitary force.
Both were killed in strikes that Israel had earlier claimed responsibility for, targeting senior Iranian leadership.
The killings represent a significant blow to Iran’s security and military establishment amid the widening regional conflict.
