The CPI(M) and the PMK have criticised the Tamil Nadu Raj Bhavan over reports that the 33rd convocation of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University would begin with Vande Mataram instead of the state anthem Tamil Thai Vazhthu. The parties argued that the move undermines state autonomy and violates constitutional principles, urging the Governor's office to respect Tamil Nadu's established protocol.
