The Tirupati laddu controversy centers on allegations of adulterated ghee used in TTD prasadam between 2024 and 2026. Investigations by a Special Investigation Team and a CBI-led probe found that ghee supplied to the temple was mixed with vegetable oils, non-dairy fats and ester chemicals used to mimic pure ghee. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has alleged the presence of harmful substances, claims that remain under investigation.
