Storms kill at least 8 in Canada, leave 226,000 citizens without power
Strong winds, with gusts of more than 140 kilometers per hour, battered eastern Canada on Saturday, the national weather service said, adding that the storm was a rare phenomenon called "derecho". The death toll from the powerful thunderstorms rose to at least eight.
