South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb has admitted to a major operational error after accidentally distributing more than six hundred thousand bitcoins to customers during a promotional campaign. The coins, worth over 40 billion dollars at current prices, were issued instead of small cash rewards of about 2,000 Korean won per user.
