Sandstorms hit the Iraqi city of Mosul | WION Climate Tracker
Local landmarks like the Al-Nuri mosque and the Mosul bridge were seen shrouded in dust. As a sandstorm hit the northern Iraqi city of Mosul. Iraq is prone to frequent sandstorms. Last year more than a dozen dust blizzards struck the country. Mostly driven by desertification. Sunday's sandstorm made the city look like a scene straight out of a post apocalyptic movie.
