The Russian Ambassador in Bangladesh has weighed in on the souring of ties between Dhaka and New Delhi. He has asked Dhaka to remember the crucial role that India played in securing Bangladesh's independence from Pakistan in 1971. The Russian reminder comes as Dhaka keeps issuing statements of alarm over the recent protests in India. Indian have been protesting over the lynching of a Hindu man in Bangladesh. India has ensured that no harm has come to Bangladeshi diplomatic missions.
