Russia Helping China Prepare Possible Attack On Taiwan: Report
Chinese President Xi Jinping has instructed the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to be prepared to militarily take control of Taiwan by 2027. However, launching a large-scale amphibious assault poses significant risks, as suitable landing sites are limited due to the steep gradients and low load-bearing capacity of most beaches. While capturing airfields could enable airborne troop deployments, Russia’s experience in Ukraine demonstrated how quickly runways can be rendered unusable. As a result, the PLA is actively exploring alternative methods and locations to diversify its options for moving forces onto Taiwan.
