Rescue Teams Race To Save Humpback Whale in Germany

Rescuers and private donors are urgently working to save a 10-12 meter humpback whale, nicknamed "Timmy," stranded in shallow waters near the German Baltic coast (Timmendorfer Strand/Island of Poel). As of April 20, 2026, the 12-tonne mammal showed signs of movement, with rescue boats guiding it toward deeper water, though its condition remains critical.
