Pakistan has taken a major step in reforming its aviation sector with the successful privatization of a 75% stake in Pakistan International Airlines. A consortium led by Arif Habib Corporation emerged as the highest bidder, offering 135 billion Pakistani rupees in a closely watched auction. The deal marks a breakthrough in the government's long-delayed efforts to privatise the national carrier.
