Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have escalated after Kabul accused Islamabad of carrying out airstrikes that hit a hospital in the Afghan capital. Afghan officials have reported heavy casualties, with hundreds feared dead.
Authorities say the facility, which was treating drug users, was destroyed in the strike. Witnesses described scenes of fire, collapse and patients killed inside hospital wards, as rescue operations continue.
Pakistan has denied targeting civilian infrastructure, stating that the strikes were aimed at militant sites. The incident comes amid rising cross-border clashes, further worsening already strained relations between the two countries.
