Kerala to be renamed Keralam: Why is Indian state govt making this move?
Southern Indian state of Kerala wants to change its name to Keralam. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan introduced a resolution for this in the Kerala Assembly. It requests the central government to officially rename Kerala to 'Keralam,' which is the accepted usage in the state's language Malayalam.
